Reviews for Dragon's Prayer

With the review I left on Bellyachin', you know full well how much I adore Alphi/Aymeric... but /this/. This is perfect, to my tastes. As others have said, the way you portray both of them is astonishingly accurate. First of all, the psychological horror portion of it from Aymeric's PoV is expertly executed, and while it hurts to see him so broken-- just a shell of his former self shattered and smouldering in the ashes of his faith-- it shows just how dire the situation is. This makes for a gripping and heart-wrenching piece on its own, yet Alphinaud is the true reason that this fic resonates with me so strongly. I identify with him to a high degree, and the naive yet impossibly strong resolve you write him with fleshes his character out like no other author has. The opening to chapter three hit me incredibly hard. That you were able to describe his thought process as he logically reasons precisely /why/ he is reacting in the manner he is, and as he muses about all the particulars of how the situation came to be (and what it could have been), cements in my mind that you /know/ him. You understand what makes the boy tick, and it makes me feel as fascinated as it does relieve me.

Also, have I mentioned that Aymeric makes an incredibly attractive dragonman? Send help. Please send help.

Looking forward to further installations and personal justification-induced angst with utmost anticipation.
