Reviews for Madness in Blood

There is something you don't seem to be grasping about the nature of writing. I have read your author's notes and am well aware that you have an impediment when it comes to writing clearly. Obviously that shouldn't stop you and hasn't, and bad grammar and spelling is hardly a sin. However, it is at such an extent where your stories are suffering. I encourage anyone who wants to write, to write. I encourage you to keep writing if you enjoy it. But there is so much more effort you can put forth to make your work better and coherent. It is called a BETA READER. Yes, I understand that many people do not want to use someone else to help them, and that it is difficult to take pointers from someone else. But if you take pride in your work, then consider making it better. You need the help of someone to fix your mistakes. This site has a section to request the help of a beta reader, take advantage of it. There really is no excuse for publishing work that isn't polished enough to at least be entirely coherent. It doesn't matter if a writer doesn't speak English fluently, has Dysgraphia, or hasn’t learned how to write beyond the level of a ten year old. There are no excuses to be given when you are putting your work out there like this. I know it’s just fanfiction, but there was a time not to long ago when publishing anything was a huge deal and meant the work couldn’t have a single error. My point is, when you have tools at your disposal (like the spell checks on your writing program and countless sites with tips and access to beta readers) then there is no excuse for posting chapters that have so many typos and bugs in them. I’m reviewing with the best of intentions, hoping to persuade you to put in a request for a beta on this site and fix your work, or even find a friend and just have them do it. I’m afraid that until you do so, your work continues to seem poorly written, and I don’t think that’s a fair assessment.

Heh, maybe it's the vampire in me that loves these blood drenched stories, but this is wonderful! Cloud seems so deliciously insane...you are very talented and have a very unusual sense of writting. I am simply in love with it. Please, write more...I live for uke Vincent, heh. Mmm...it has been a very long time since I found an author whom I enjoyed so much. Please continue...

Hmm... you sure have a lot of different and unique ideas. The pacing was a little off for me. A little more detail and description would be nice. I had troubles when I first began to write as well, so I checked out some of the grammar tips that are posted on this site. I think with some practice and reading of the proper rules, you can improve your work. As far as spelling goes, it's not a crime to be a bad speller. However, it really hurts your story... I couldn't understand a lot of what you were trying to say. My suggestion is to find a different program to right on and get a beta reader. I don't use a beta reader myself, so I can understand the reluctance to enlist someone else's help in what you consider your own work. However, I think that if you have an experienced beta, then they can help you learn how to spell better and write better. And, there are many writing programs that can fix most of your mistakes. I use Microsoft Word, but there is this one program... I think they have it for free downloading on fanfiction.net... I don't remember the name of it, but it's certain to help you with spelling issues. If you don't know where to go for it, then I downloaded it a while back and could send it to you via email.

Like I said, not being able to spell isn't a crime, but before you post things like that should be taken care of. There are other issues with your writing that a beta could really help you with. I've never acted as a beta, and am too busy with my own writing... but if you really wanted help... I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Anyway, keep on writing, since practice makes perfect. I hope some of my suggestions can be helpful. Remember that taking the time to flush out details and events is always worth while. Even if this site is generally fixated on PWP and lemons, a good plot and storyline means a lot. Good Luck.
