"Man would I kill for some ear plugs... Or a mute button, maybe a some tape whichever comes first... I DO have a stapler.."

I think I just died from laughter, mostly because I think about that every time I'm finishing college paperwork and someone barges in my study time demanding attention or want to drag me to a bar. I feel for Squall's problems with a clingy Rinoa. Heck, even I was annoyed of her in the damn game. The whining and sudden temper tantrums got old before I ended disc one, and personally I would have left the immature girl to those lizards during that assassination mission. Brought some bad flashbacks about my lack of love interest.

How the game makers warped them into a romance couple still doesn't make sense in my mind to this day. Excluding the beginning when they met at the ball, I'll admit that was heartwarming...and downright hilarious watching with glee of Mr. Lone wolf being forced to dance. Thought he would step on her toes more for amusement. After that, everything went downhill. I've played enough Final Fantasy to know that Rinoa makes a horrible match. Even the other heroines from other series took danger with some caution and the kidnapping/possessing was too damn obvious on Rinoa's recklessness. Still cringe at the outer space incident. There's a far line between falling for someone after they save you, again and demanding to by nearly giving your love interest a lap dance while they're piloting a space ship.

Now on Seifer's persona, that felt like something the producers could have worked on instead of making one amusing moment of finally slamming some sense into the blond bully. I still thank Gilgamesh for that moment, but the I was more psyched on if ex-knight was actually an in closet sadist or under a spell. The guy is a complete time bomb when it comes to fighting, and every gamer who had the moment to get past first disc could see the guy had insecurities himself. Especially after the SeeD exam. Heck, I even believed Seifer fireman carried his rival to the infirmary. Not to mention he had every opportunity to gloat his spar in front of his rival, and he didn't.

Anyway, my ranting got to me. On to your chapter. I think Squall is completely going OOC, but it seems to fit perfectly with the inner monologue of the guy. Then again war and other crap changes people. No surprised the guy is a workaholic, but even having an ex bugging you will put anyone over the edge. The timing Seifer had that moment made it worth while, and sadly brought some thoughts of "will blondie be able to control his libido?" Freaking Commander gave a gift horse in the mouth for the guy! That has got to put Seifer is some nervous shock, even if he's trying to play pretend. Major turning point here...

At least your fans get a moment of bashing with some sudden steamy sentences. Two in one in the same chapter done right and you got gold. Wonder how this will pull through...

Love it. Instead of seeing stories showing Seifer having inhibited lust for "puberty boy," you give us an innocent standpoint on how the ex-knight slowly (okay in a brief paragraph, but you pulled it well) sees his rival in a different light. Seifer fell for Squall by a simple smile and new found of kindness. Could completely understand why the poor ex-knight started his rage-fest due to a "hopeless" crush.

After all the stuff he went through, I could imagine Seifer trying to figure out why such new feelings are developing from being near his rival. It's even more innocent in a sense when Seifer is confronted by Irvine. Anyone who has played the game long enough to talk to the characters know Irvine tends to flirt and tease. Heck, the cowboy did try to convince Squall to read a dirty magazine in the game for crying out loud! I wouldn't put it past him to test how genuine the ex-knight feelings were for Squall. Bet it hurt the cowboy's ego a bit when Seifer dropped the guy and realized in horror he was making out with said cowboy while fantasizing his rival. ;)

Uh-oh...looks like Seifer was dead obvious, loved the idea of PMS-ing Seifer (even whenin reality he's just horny). XD
Wonder how cowboy will will make him confess even more.
