I should state up-front that I have mixed feelings about this--I'm rather fond of Rinoa--but let's leave all that aside and actually look at the story you've written. :)

Your grammar is excellent, kudos for that. Reading this was very painless. My only complaint is that you made both Squall and Quistis too vulgar. I don't think it squares with their personalities as I understand them from the game. If Quistis loved somebody, I can see her being that forward--but not where anybody could walk out and see them. As for Squall, frankly I think he's far more of a gentleman in thought and word than you portrayed him. You did write him fairly gentlemanly in action, though, which I like.

Of course, all of this is just an artistic difference. Despite my misgivings, I am impressed with this story. That is not something I say lightly.

Normally, Rinoa-bashing doesn't amuse me, but this was well done and thoughtful. The whole idea of Rinoa having cast a spe spell during the dance in the guise of a jest made me say, "Oh, wow! I can't believe I never thought of that! Very clever."
