Oo, FFXII het. And genderbender! That counts, right? The characterization is spot on, especially for Balthier, who I can really see wanting to try out such a "fascinating opportunity" if it ever presented itself.
The paragraph with '“Oh dear.” Basch was not...' seems a little bit too complicated at that point, the language and structures in that one might have conveyed his stunned reaction or non-reaction better.
The sex scene was a little bit surprising. I was thinking it was foreplay, and they were already done! Then again, I write different sort of stories, myself. Description of "Balt-her" could have had more detail, too. Short hair, long hair? How did the clothes fit or not fit? These details are more important in gender-bender than normally.
Was expecting more smex, but it was a good, fun story.
