The Voices in My Head...
Note: This is my first fic! Ever! I normally draw comics but they take forever. Please REVIEW! I wanna know how to write a better story!
Thank you!
P.S. I might play with the plot a little :)
He sacrificed himself for you….He died saving you…..
These were the only sentences that echoed in the mind of the nameless man at the outskirts on Midgar. For some odd reason the only thing the spiky-haired blonde could remember were these two sentences and had absolutely no clue what meaning they held. The blonde man was dressed in a SOLDIER uniform and had found himself with a giant sword when he woke up. Was he a SOLDIER?
“Hey, you! Who are you? Stop right there! No one is allowed in without verification.”
The blonde looked up to find the source of the voice: a guard at the gate of the Sector 1 slums.
“I…I….” What was he going to tell the guard? That he had just woken up and discovered he has no idea who the hell he is??
“Wait, that’s a first-class SOLDIER uniform! God, I’m so sorry sir…”
The amnesiac couldn’t have been more grateful that he happened to be wearing the uniform and slowly he walked into the slums and hoped that he’d soon find some answers.

“So, what is your report?”
“Professor Hojo, um… We are sorry to report that we have only brought back one of the escaped subjects. Force was necessary and the specimen was compromised….,” mumbled a nervous Shinra cadet. Professor Hojo was a lanky thin man who always seemed to have an amused smile plastered on his face. That was the case normally, but not at this moment.
“….And the other one? Where is he?” The scientist’s eyes narrowed at the trembling cadet who was sure he was going to soon become one of Hojo’s treasured guinea pigs if he answered this next question wrong.
“Well….we lost him. He is probably alive and can’t be far from Midgar. We’re sure to find him if we comb the area….”
“Uh-huh, I see. Hehehe…This could be interesting. Cadet, you may call off the search for now I want to see what happens when I let him go prematurely,” Hojo’s smile had found its way back onto his face and was making the hairs on the back of the cadet’s neck stand up. The professor’s smile just widen as he closed in on the petrified cadet.
“You know…I could use an assistant for my experiments. You seem to be pretty capable for just a cadet,” Hojo’s dark eyes locked onto the cadet’s as the grin kept on widening.
“Professor…I,” the cadet’s mind was racing. He had to say something to please this sick bastard so he wouldn’t suddenly find himself in an observation tank. “…would love to assist you, science has always been a secret fascination of mine.”
Hojo laughed a little, his eyes never leaving the cadet who was scared that the maniacal professor wouldn’t like his answer.
“Good answer my dear.”

Cloud…You’re finally awake. I’ve waited so long…
“Cloud? That’s my name…..” replied the blonde apparently talking to no one. Cloud, however, wasn’t overly disturbed about the mysterious voice in his head which seemed to know everything. It was a comforting, smooth voice that seemed to wash away all his other troublesome thoughts.
“Who are you? Why do you know me?.....” Cloud whispered to the faceless voice. Suddenly Cloud’s head started to hurt with a sharp pain. Through the pain Cloud could swear he saw the bloody corpse of a man with long black hair lying on the ground staring at him blankly.
Cloud rose quickly from his secluded corner in a heap of scrap and ran into no particular direction. “Who are you!!!! What are you doing to me??!” screamed Cloud. Eyes watching the strange scene followed Cloud as he continued his one-man conversation.
Shhhh…I am always with you. You already know me very well, my love.
“I know you? How…I can’t remember anything! Please help me, please,” tears rolled down Cloud’s face as he questioned the voice helplessly.
“Do you need help, mister?” Cloud looked down to see a small brown-haired boy at his feet. “You don’t sound very happy.” Cloud squatted down and stared at the boy head-on, partly because he was in disbelief that there was actually now someone there talking to him. Cloud tried to smile, “I’m sorry for worrying you, I just haven’t eaten or slept in days…I think,” Cloud was trying to make himself that that was the reason why he was also hearing voices in his head.
“I’m Denzel! I live at an orphanage around here; they give lost people food all the time! Come with me!” Before Cloud knew it the boy grabbed his wrist and pulled him along.
Thank you!
