Burning Desires
AUTHORS NOTE:
This story has no relation to the story that takes place in Final Fantasy 7. This is a completely different story in which I used Reno, Rude, and Vincent as characters. Also, I made Reno about 20 in this story. I know that he’s probably older but that’s what I’m sticking with.
“Do you think he’s ready?”
“Well he did pass all of the tests.” A man dressed in a dark gray suit walked over to a chair where another young man with long black hair sat. The man crouched down to the young mans level, who sat quiet, staring at nothing. “Time to go… Pet. Time for you to get a Master.”
Ding Ding Ding
Finally the last bell Reno had to hear. School was over and it was time for summer. Several guys ran through the halls peeling off their shirts. Reno was outgoing, but not so much to strip in front of his classmates, otherwise he would join those guys in celebration. He reached in his locker and shoved whatever was left in there in this handbag.
“Everyone gets to party and have fun.” Reno muttered to himself. “And I get to work.”
“I need you to come in every Saturday.” He mimicked his manager as best as he could. “Bullshit. Damn manager. But I guess I can’t help it that I’m assistant manager.” Reno sighed and shut his locker. I guess there’s no use in staying here. Might as well go home.
Reno began walking toward the door, passing the shirtless guys who were busy tackling each other and falling on top of each other. Reno just rolled his eyes and continued walking when someone called his name.
“Reno!” Reno turned and saw a girl run up to him.
“Hey Peggy. What’s up?” Reno asked curiously as she approached him. Peggy, a little bit of a loud mouth, but also sweet and kind. Even though she wasn’t as pretty or popular as other girls, Reno still nice to her, despite the fact she was an annoyance.
“Are you going to check them out too?” She asked giggling and then smiled. “They might be gone soon!”
“Check out what?” Reno questioned. Them? He thought. If there was a band coming I would have heard. And I doubt that there are any more guest speakers coming to the school, considering this is the last day of school.
“These silly!” Peggy held up a flyer to Reno’s face. Reno took hold of the paper shooing Peggy’s hand away, who laughed.
He looked at the flyer, trying to comprehend the message of it. “Human Pets?” He read out loud. Reno raised an eyebrow. “What’s this about?”
“I’m not completely sure. But I heard that they’ll do stuff for you like cook, clean, keep you company. I even heard that they’ll do naughty stuff too!” She started to giggle.
“Naughty stuff?” Reno asked. Naughty… as in sex? He wondered. Reno grinned. “We’re the only two that know about it right?”
Peggy shook her head. “No. They were handing these out during lunch today, so practically everyone knows about it!” She started running off but stopped just before the doors. She turned back towards Reno. “So I’m going to get a cute one before they’re all gone! See ya later!”
“Whoa! Wait a minute!” Reno yelled after her, but she was already gone. Reno just stood there, staring at the piece of paper he held in his hand. Maybe I’ll check it out. He thought. Not like I have anything to do this summer anyway.
Reno arrived at his house; actually Rude’s house. Reno was just staying there for the time being until he finished school and got a better job. Even though Rude was his buddy he still made Reno pay his share of rent and other needs. At least it was better than paying 1000 gil a month for an apartment.
Reno entered his room, throwing his handbag and notebooks on the floor, adding to the collection of junk on the floor. His room was average size but cozy. There was his double sized bed underneath the only window in his room. Next to his bed was his desk, which looked like a tornado had gone through and that’s the way it was kept. Across from his desk was a door leading to the bathroom. Beside that was his dresser and piles of clothing. Reno never really kept his room clean, except when he had a date. It’s been a while since he even had a date. Hell, he couldn’t even remember the last time.
He grabbed a shirt and pants to change into. He thought about the flyer that he had gotten earlier. At first glance it seemed sort of hoax. Who in the world would sell humans as pets? Let alone call them pets? Reno sighed, deciding not to think about it longer, grabbed his keys and headed out the door.
Ironically, the shop was only a 20 minute walk from his house. He figured it would be in the downtown area somewhere, some 1 hour away from there, not in the middle of a suburb. But then again, there were a few other commercial buildings near it. The building read “Kudo Co.” It didn’t even look like a store except for the front. It looked more like a warehouse. Reno walked through the front door and before he could take one step further he was practically jumped on by someone.
“Welcome to Kudo Co!!!” The employee yelled, throwing his hands in the air in a playful manner. Reno didn’t even have a chance to have a panic attack when the guy continued. “Here’s a list of all the available men and women we have and the ones we have sold!” He said cheerfully handing Reno an electronic pamphlet. “That door has the women and the other is the men!” He continued, pointing at the only two doors that were in front of them. “If you need help, you can speak to one of our advisors! Have a good day sir!” He bowed and proceeded to the next costumer that walked through the door, giving him a panic attack as well.
Wow. I felt like I just got raped in 5 seconds…
The rooms containing the so-called ‘Pets’ were small pathways with large glass windows. Behind those windows were the people they were selling. Reno made his way through both sex’s, just out of curiosity. The male pets mostly only had a pair of pants on and nothing more. The female had various clothing; everything from dresses to worn looking T-Shirts and jeans. But one accessory was on all of them. A collar. Almost like a pet collar but for humans. All of the collars were black in color and had a golden tag attached, most likely inscribed with their name.
Reno stopped in the women’s section to rest his legs and look at the pamphlet. It was just a computer screen that was see-through, which had pictures and data on the pets, that was updated every minute. Thank the Gods for amazing technology. Otherwise there would be people freaking out trying to figure out where certain pets were. Reno turned the screen off for now and took a look around. Many of the women were pretty and at a young age, probably early 20s. That’s when Reno noticed… him. Or her? Reno couldn’t tell, but the person he was looking at in the women’s section, looked like a guy.
