I sat at my computer staring at the screen. The slowly changing screen saver reminded me of him, of us. A photo of us hugging, at a park, on my couch, with my little brother Sora, and one of us kissing. What hurt the most was looking at him, his beauty. His stunningly long silky silver hair, and those piercing emotionless emerald green eyes, and those rosy lips. I sometimes think it was my fault he left, I wasn’t good enough, passionate enough for him. He was experienced, and already in his early 20`s, he always said he would wait ‘til I was ready, but I could tell that he wanted to take me, claim me. I was barely 16 when we started dating, a kid, gravity-defining spiky blond hair and glossy blue eyes, short about 5`7”, he towered over me at 6`3”. I was skinny while he was strong and built, but not overly so. I have grown a bit in the past two years, only an inch though, making me 5`8”. I wonder if Sephiroth got any taller, he was already freakishly tall.
When he left me, I screamed at him, and told him I wouldn’t wait for him; that if SOLDIER was more important than me, then when he came back he wouldn’t have me anymore. He just stood there and told me he had to do it, it was important to him. He didn’t even blink when he said it, his face didn’t show one bit of emotion, or remorse. It looked like he didn’t care whether he stayed or went. I didn’t want to hear so I shut the door in his face, and cried myself to sleep. For months I cried, I barely ate or slept. Thinking back I wish I would have talked to him that day, kissed him goodbye, maybe even let him take me, then he might have changed his mind. Ill never know… He left me a letter before he left, slipped it under my door. I still have it, I read it every night like a prayer. Cloud let his head drop onto the desk with a bang and sighed. “I miss him so much,” he mumbled sadly.
Cloud opened the drawer to his old beat up desk. He reached in and grabbed Sephiroth’s letter; it was a small piece of paper, with his blue ink writing on it. He slowly brought the paper close to his face so he could smell, and inhaled slowly. “Still smells just like him,” he thought aloud to himself. Like Rain and Vanilla.. That smell, it was intoxicating, that smell he fell in love with. He slowly opened the folded piece of paper, and started to read, although he knew it by memory.
Dear, Cloud
I wish I could have said goodbye to you!!
I will miss you & know that I do love you
with all my heart.. I will be back for you
but my country needs me Cloud. SOLDIER
is where I belong, you knew that, I told you
many times. Wait for me baby, save yourself
for me. Me and Zack will try to come back soon.

LOVE SEPHIROTH
Tears silently spilled from his eyes like they always did when he read the letter. It just wasn’t like Sephiroth to say what was on his mind. The platinum-haired blonde usually hated to share his feelings, and chose to always have a stony mask on his face. He slowly folded the letter again and put it back in the drawer. He got up from his chair, and walked slowly to his bed that was right next to the window. He used sneak out of that window all the time, Sephiroth would pick him up and they would drive to the park and cuddle under their favorite cherry blossom tree. He had snuck out with Sephiroth the day before he had told him the heartbreaking news, and he should have known something was wrong. Sephiroth had been acting so strange…
*flashback*
Cloud closed his eyes and sighed blissfully. He was in the Nilbehiem park, it was dark and the moon was only half-full tonight, but it still seemed like such a romantic night. And it was always a plus that it was the middle of fall, and he hadn’t brought a sweater so he could cuddle up to his boyfriend all night if he wanted. It was about 2 in the morning and he was little tired, but he didn’t care, he was here with the love of his life, Sephiroth.
Sephiroth was laying with his back against their favorite cherry blossom tree, he was wearing some baggy sweat pants and a blue hooded sweater. In between his legs was Cloud. Cloud laid his head back against Sephiroth’s shoulder and tilted his face so he could kiss the silver-haired angel’s cheek lightly . Sephiroth looked down at him and raised an eyebrow at him.
“ I’m not complaining…but what was that for?” Sephiroth asked softly, He was staring up at the sky, and he looked like he was thinking really hard about something.
“ Because.. Iloveyou,” Cloud replied hurriedly, He was so glad it was dark because he was blushing madly; he always got that way when he told Sephiroth he loved him, he was way too shy for his own good.
That caused Sephiroth to bring his distracted gaze down to him. Cloud looked into Sephiroth’s shining mako green eyes and frowned; he could see guilt and sadness in his eyes. He had never seen Sephiroth look sad before, it was so new and heartbreaking.
“ Baby… let me make you mine tonight, I can make you feel really good, just let me show you Cloud,” Sephiroth whispered passionately into Cloud’s ears. Cloud felt Sephiroth’s hands travel from his waist to stroke his stomach lightly over his black shirt. His face immediately turned as red as a tomato, and he could feel his heart rate pick up. He felt so bad for making Sephiroth wait but he wasn’t ready. He could barely be in the pool with his swim trunks on with the man without passing out.
“ Seph…I… uh, I-I’m not ready… I’m so-sorry but I just need more time,” Cloud mumbled, turning his head to stare at the swing so he wouldn’t have to look at Sephiroth’s disappointed face.
Sephiroth sighed and removed his hands from Cloud’s stomach. He laid down flat on the grass and pulled Cloud on top, so he was straddling the older man’s waist . Sephiroth brought his hands up to brush the hair out of Cloud’s face and smiled disappointedly up at him. “ Will you ever be ready Cloud? I waited so long, and I know I said I would wait, but this is getting to be to much,” Sephiroth asked, though you could tell by his tone he wasn’t actually asking, more like stating.
“ I just need more time,” Cloud murmured, averting his gaze once again.
He sighed. And crawled into his dark blue covers. His room was nothing special; it had a white wooden desk against a wall that him and his friends had painted with every color in the rainbow, so it looked like big blobs of paint everywhere. He had a small walk-in closet next to where his desk was. His bed was a nice queen sized white wooden bed, with dark blue and black sheets. He had a medium-sized TV that hung from the wall. And an end table next to his bed that had a navy blue lamp, his cell phone, and a photo of him and Sephiroth hugging. Zack, his loud spiky brown-haired best friend, had taken the photo. They had gotten Seph to actually smile, which was very rare because he was known as the ice prince, he barely showed emotion besides to him ,Zack, and his younger brother Riku.
But Zack had betrayed him too, he left with Seph; he used to think that they left to be together, that Sephiroth had an affair with him while they were together. But he knew that wasn’t true. Zack was head over heels for his other best friend Aeris. Aeris has long brown hair and beautiful green eyes, she was gorgeous and so nice; they had helped each other when Zack and Sephiroth left. She had been there when he couldn’t take it, and started cutting himself. She had helped him stop, and he had helped her deal with her family problems now that Zack was not there. She had liked him for a while and he had thought that maybe it would be better if they dated, but they had kissed once at a party his younger brother’s best friend Kairi had thrown, and there wasn’t a connection, at least not for him anyway. But they had moved on from that, and he was so glad.
He lived in a nice middle class neighborhood, mostly families with small children lived here. His house was a pretty two-story town house, he lived with his mother April Strife (she was barely there, she usually came back around 1 in the morning and left at 6 for work, don’t get her wrong she is a great mother, but she just works too hard), and his little brother Sora. Sora’s room was across the hall from his. His little brother had spiky gravity-defining milk chocolate brown hair, a lot like his own, and big blue eyes like his, and was a bit short for his age. His brother was really friendly. “I don’t think I ever met anyone that didn’t like him,” he mumbled, slightly annoyed. He was also dating Sephiroth’s younger brother Riku. Riku looked like a smaller version of Sephiroth. He had a little past shoulder length silver hair that fell down his back like a waterfall, and drop dead gorgeous aqua green eyes, he was tall about 5’9”. Yes, he was taller than me. “And younger,” he grumbled to no one in particular, he was the same age as my brother,16. And it was a little hard seeing him because it reminded him Sephiroth, but as soon as Riku opened his mouth it ruined it, so he didn’t have to worry about falling in love with his brother’s boyfriend. God knows that would be a disaster.
He reached out to turn of his lamp, and flicked it off. The nights were the hardest; that’s when he had time to think. Even after 2 years he couldn’t forget him. He sighed and decided to not think tonight and try to sleep. He slowly drifted off to sleep, to his dreamland where he could be happy with Sephiroth.
“Seph…I love you,” he sleepily mumbled, before his eyes closed with a content sigh.
