Cecil took a deep breath.
You can do this. You became a paladin. You went to the moon. You defeated Zeromus. You saved the entire planet. This is nothing.
“Is everything all right? You look a little nervous.”
The sound of concern in Rosa’s voice just made him that much more aware of how much his heart was racing. It seemed almost absurd for him to be nervous about anything, let alone a night with his wife. He had dispatched every foe he had ever faced with ease, but now he seemed to be faced with his toughest challenge yet.
“I-I’m fine,” he replied, his voice betraying his anxiety.
“Are you sure?”
“Positive,” he said, desperately trying to sound confident, to convince himself that he was indeed confident. “I’m ready.”With that he felt Rosa’s hands grab his back. Once again there was a strange sensation when she did, one he couldn’t quite pinpoint.
Just like the last several times.
