Chapter 11:

Chapter 11

The trio made their way first to the beach, deciding it would be best to train there. It was open and would be easy enough to train on though giving them a bit difficulty because of the sand. The bag was set down on the ground, a towel being removed for their weapons to go for the time being since they would start out with hand-to-hand combat.

Lionheart was set down on the towel carefully. Squall then moved away from the towel and bag, waiting for the other two.

As Irvine placed his weapons next to Squall's, Selphie removed her sundress, revealing the plain tan tank top and light cotton Capri's of the same color. Her dress was slipped into the bag before she began stretching to get her muscles loosened.

Selphie practiced dodging attacks from a shadow attacker as Irvine approached Squall. "I got winners!" She called as she tumbled across the sand and sent a sweeping kick intended to knock an opponent to the ground.

Irvine cracked his knuckles, knowing that the smaller man was not someone to be taken lightly when sparring. "I'm ready if you are...just remember, I'm a lover not a fighter..."

Squall gave a small smile to the other man before all emotion was wiped from his face. Stormy eyes narrowed upon the cowboy, shifting his feet in the sand. For a moment, he only stared at the man opposite of himself. Then without warning, he pushed off the sand and charged at the other man. One fist was sent at Irvine, it easily being dodged. While his fist was dodged, he move do a leg sweep but again this was dodged though it sent the other man jumping back.

The commander didn't give Irvine any time to recover. Another fist was sent at him, this time not being dodge but being caught. However Squall pushed off on his feet and used the power in his legs as well as the cowboy's shoulder to help him jump over the taller man. He managed to get his fist free during this and performed another leg sweep.

Irvine locked his concentration fully on the gunblade master and leapt over the leg that had been intended to knock him off his feet. Squall quickly got back to his feet and blows were exchanged at a furious pace. Irvine pulled a punch that was aimed for Squall's stomach so that the impact wouldn't injure his lover.

The taller man managed to grab the commander's arm and locked it behind his back only to feel the russet haired man starting to slip from the hold.

Stormy blue-gray met with violet for a second before Squall wrenched his arm free. Then in a flash, he grabbed onto Irvine and flipped him over himself. The cowboy was sent into the sand, sprawled out on the ground with Squall hovering over him. The gunblade master had used less force than usual so the impact wouldn't be as hard though he was sure the man's back would be sore.

"You okay?" Squall outstretched his hand to Irvine hoping he didn't over do it.

Irvine nodded as he looked up to his lover and reached for the outstretched hand, allowing Squall to pull him to his feet. "I'm fine darlin.'' He said before yanking the slightly smaller man to his chest before placing a soft kiss on his lips.

Selphie clapped for her two partners as she moved forward with her strange vision resting on her shoulder. "Good fight guys." She said and pulled each man down to place a kiss on his cheeks. "Its just too bad that Irvy doesn't have an actual weapon he can spar with...maybe we can grab a few kendo sticks when we go home and begin training with those as well. It'll make me feel better even though I know you can hold your own, Irvy."

Irvine nodded as he released Squall. "Sound's like a plan to me." He said with a smile as he moved to sit on the sand a few feet away, well out of the line of fire.

"Are you both ready?" He said, watching as Selphie gave a few practice swings with her weapon before getting in her fighting stance."

"Yep!" She replied before locking eyes with her opponent and giving him a wink and a smile.

Squall moved over to the towel, grabbing up his beloved Lionheart. A few swings were taken as he walked to stand opposite of their little vixen. Inwardly he smiled at her wink and smile but outwardly his lips were drawn into a line. Any form of training was always serious to the commander and now was no different.

"Ready." Fingers tightened on the hilt of his gunblade waiting for Irvine to say 'go'. When the word was finally said, he raised Lionheart up to block an attack from strange vision. It seemed he was going to be taking the defense first as they began to dance across the sand.

EzzieValentine: Selphie's concentration was never broken as she continued to send blows at Squall. Strange vision flew through the air snapping and making contact with the perfection that was the Lionheart. Soft panting escaped her lips as her body worked before taking a swipe at his legs and watching as he leapt over the attack.

Selphie rolled in the heated sand before fluidly making her way to her feet, her weapon ready as she prepared to go on the defensive.

Squall didn't let her take the offensive again. Lionheart was brought down repeatedly at Selphie, each time being blocked by the large nunchaku's. Each blow was being met perfectly and he knew this could continue on if he didn't change it up a bit.

Lionheart was brought down again being met as expected. However this time he kept their weapons locked while he got closer to her. When he felt he was close enough, he dropped down and swept his leg at her. Selphie dodged it but while she was in the air, he brought his gunblade at her once more. The blow was caught awkwardly and it managed to send the bubbly woman back into the sand.

Selphie flopped back into the sand in defeat before giving a mock glare to the man who looked down at her. "You won this time commander, but next time, I'll get you...you just wait!"

Her chest heaved as her burning lungs pulled in much needed air. Emerald eyes closed for a few moments as her body came down from its adrenaline rush from sparring with the lightning fast commander. Her right arm came to rest behind her head as the left loosened its grasp on her beloved weapon. "That was my exercise for the week..." she murmured and relaxed at the thought that she still had a few more days with the two men she loved with all that she was.

Irvine moved the short distance across the sand to kneel at her side. He watched as a tiny trickle of sweat trickled down the side of her neck, until his eyes landed on her breasts as they moved with each pant. Though he wanted to wait until the got to the spring to be within her sweet, hot body again, he couldn't help but to lean in for taste before hand.

His hand gently caressed her full breast, his thumb running over the nipple as he winked up to his russet haired commander. They watched as Selphie's eyes flew open and a gasp escaped her lips. Irvine's lips pressed softly against her own in a sweet, loving kiss only to pull away a moment later.

"Ya'll both did great." He said, pulling her into a sitting position and running his fingers through her hair to remove some of the sand. "Should we eat here or wait 'til we hit the springs?"

Squall ran a hand through his damp locks, pushing them back out of his eyes. "Let's eat here." Lionheart was set on his shoulder as he walked back to their stuff. He plopped down on his towel and grabbed the edge of it to wipe the sweat of his head. Then his beloved gunblade was set on the material beneath himself.

A deep breath was let out, his heart still beating a bit hard in his chest. It had been a while since he last had a workout like that. Paperwork seemed to never end these days, which gave him less time to train. Hell, it gave him less time to do anything outside of his work. He only hoped that after this little vacation that he wouldn't be swamped again.

*-*

Selphie and Irvine dug into the food they had brought, removing the sandwiches, bottles of water and chips. They dug into the food ravenously after their intense workout, making conversation about anything that just happened to pop into mind.

"I'm so glad to be away from the garden for a while...It kinda makes me wonder though how they're doing without you." Selphie wondered aloud before shaking her head. "Eh, it doesn't matter. They'll have to get use to you not being there all the time, Squallie. There's now way on Hyne's green earth that we'd throw you back into that...and you'd better believe we'll be right there when you need us."

Irvine snorted and met blue-gray eyes. "Hell, we'll be there when ya don't need us."

Squall nodded, eating his own sandwich though at a much slower pace than his two companions. "I just need to lessen the amount of paperwork I have. The paperwork has doubled since I first started in the office and it's becoming too much for me." The rest of his sandwich was finished off along with his water.

"Well, we'll be here to help you from now on, but headmaster Cid will have to take his share of the work as well. It's not fair of him to place all of this on your shoulders." Irvine said and leaned back in the sand.

"Before I left, that was actually one of the things I was talking to Matron about. She knows about what's going on and got a detailed report from Dr. Kadowaki. Your workload will be divided, Squallie." She said and moved to sit at her russet haired love's side. "You know...matron was really scared. She said she didn't know what she'd do if she'd lost one of her children..."

Squall nodded, thinking of the woman that had once taken care of them all. "It will take more than paperwork to kill me. If I can take on sorceresses I think I can live from overload of work," he mumbled out. Though it was a nice to know Matron was worry about him, he didn't like the pity he knew that came with it or the idea that he couldn't handle this. If it was one thing Squall hated, it was pity and the idea that he wasn't strong enough.

Shaking his head of those thoughts, he let out a deep breath and fell back in the sand. He moved his arm to cover his eyes blocking out the bright sunlight. He told himself just to relax, that work was far away from him and he could actually take time for himself. The garden's accounts on money and missions for the SeeDs were miles and miles away where they couldn't reach him.

After a few moments of laying in the warm sand, the commander climbed back to his feet, his gaze locked out on the rolling waves that lapped onto the shore.

Irvine and Selphie shared a look before they tossed their stuff into bag that Selphie had packed for garbage. Quietly they stood and moved over to the gunblade master and stood behind him for a moment, watching as he looked out over the crystal blue waters.

The pair moved as one even closer to Squall before they split. Irvine moved behind their lover and pulled him to his chest. Irvine dipped his head and kissed the side of his neck as Selphie moved to stand before him. She wrapped her arms around his waist and placed her head on his strong, muscular chest.

"Don't forget we're here with you Squallie." She whispered and gave a slight grin as she gave his pert rear a squeeze

Squall jumped at the sudden attack by the two, tensing up immediately before slowly relaxing. "I know..." he mumbled back, giving the little vixen a faint smile. "This will just take time adjusting too. You'll have to bear with me." He already knew that they would though. That had been for months now and he hadn't been able to chase them away. He knew by now that nothing was going to keep those two from him.

Selphie pulled back and grinned up at her lover, giving him a sharp nod. "Of course, Squallie!" She said with a bright smile before meeting the amethyst eyes of her sniper over Squall's shoulder.

"Now, I believe you two owe me a trip to the hot spring." She said before twirling in a circle, her arms spread about her showing a hint of the energy and eagerness that was distinct to her alone.

Irvine nodded and kissed below Squall's ear. "Whaddya say? Should we get our lil' darlin' to the springs?"

Squall nodded, tilting his head to steal a quick kiss from Irvine. Reluctantly he pulled away from the embrace to pack their things. The three of them packed the food back, folding up the towels and shoving them back into a bag. They redressed before heading back to the cabin.
