    Rated: R/for now

!WARNINGS! A classic Mary-Sue fic! If you don't like girls mysteriously finding their way in the world of Final Fantasy VIII then, I suggest you leave as quickly as possible.

YOU: I usually don't post if I don't get Feed Back. It just proves that this fiction wasn't worthy enough to be put on here. So, if you like it, be sure to post a review, even if it is to tell me to UPDATE. I like being pushed.

Summary: Seventeen year old Lisa Cardaci, spends her birthday in Japan to meet with Executive Producer, Hironobu Sakaguchi. What does that have to do with her winding up outside of Balamb a week before all conflicts?

    Wasted time
I can not say that I was ready for this.
    But when worlds collide,
And all that I have is all that I want.
    The words seem to flow
And the thoughts they keep running.
And all that I have is yours.
All that I am is yours.
    Painted skys.
I've seen so many that cannot compare,
    To your ocean eyes.
    So, when you say forever,
Can't you see you've already captured me.

Chapter Thirteen: The Sun Burns Out

I sat down on the cracked cement, tracing my finger along the chalked words. The group had been talking about the past, figuring out why they couldn't remember anything. The GF's had been eating away at their memories, finding a delectably sweet spot for childhood.

"Don't you remember all of the wonderful things she-" Irvine trailed off, digging his feet at gravel. "Edea... Matron did."

Squall kicked away from the pole he had been leaning on and sighed, restlessly. "I don't care who she was then, it's who she is now. No longer our Matron, she's Edea, and try not to have any regrets when we fight her."

The consumed looks on their faces reminded me of a funeral. Not only did they realize that they've been sabotaged of memories, but they also realized that at some point or another, they grew up together. They ran down to the beach and told stories by the light of fire. All except for one.

I looked over at Squall, watching him nod his head, even if he wasn't actually there. It was obvious the way he felt, especially in his eyes. The sad little boy who would stand outside, as it rained, when the others were still inside. That boy stayed hidden underneath the dark remains of an old orphanage and his heart stayed there ever since.

The overpowering pain in his voice could be heard late at night, echoing from the sky and distance. He called for his only true friend, the only one who cared. Sis, was the word that the night heard, that the night's darkness bathed him in, that the night stared back. An empty ocean with no more boats in view.

I looked away, feeling his penetrating glare. A tight feeling that made it hard to breathe. I had almost kissed him. I had felt his hands, so surreal, on my neck. I think about it everytime this, seemingly heavy necklace hits my chest. The warmth of his air, the sweet scent that only he can produce. Regular soap, mixed with what I'm guessing, Vanilla.

Protection was what he handed me, it's what I was thinking, as he wrapped his arms around my collar. I could actually feel his life, his heart, pounding against my back. I was quiet that night, asking myself if I should be waking up soon, to tell my friends about my silly fan-girl dream.

"I see that you have your necklace back," Rinoa snorted. A very unattractive sound coming from her. "Squall gave it back to you?"

"Mhm." Okay, not only was I amused, I reveled in it. The reflection in her eyes, was just enough to be obvious. A cross between hatred and jealousy. Unlike her, I knew not to talk with high assumption of both.

"You knew that I liked him." She held onto her arm in a discomforting way, almost like she was waiting on an explanation. Then again, if I was her, I'd be too. "I thought that we were friends, Lisa."

It's the eighth grade all over again. I rubbed at my temple, trying to somehow chase away the beginning of a migraine. "You never bothered to ask me how I felt about him. I guess you know now. I'm sorry that he didn't see what an amazing person you are, but maybe you're not his type?"

Before I could even get the last few words out, she was walking away.

    -

I relaxed against the comforting hand that cupped my shoulder. Leather clad fingers, slowly made their way down my arm, pulling me closer, without actually turning me.

"What's wrong?" Squall breathed next to my ear, deeply. A hint of chill in his voice, as his breath lingered longer than it should have. "It's a beautiful sunset, you shouldn't waste it on sadness."

I smiled up at him and nodded, knowingly. "It is beautiful...I'm just a little tired."

"I can remedy that," he smirked, toothily. A smirk that had my eyebrows raised. I was actually enjoying this side of Squall. He was so---relaxed. I could make him smile without even trying to. He was always amazing, but he has this defined warmth about him.

    "Drink this."

The liquid was thick, almost making me gag at first. It was tangy and sour to the senses. Sugar up to wazoo. Squall was right though, it sure was a remedy. My eyes seemed to loosen and I had this urge to dance. I moved my legs, trying to release the sudden energy.

He smiles, shaking his head. Blue eyes narrowing, as I walk back and forth. "I want to sing something. Anything!"

Zell tilted his head to the side and chuckled, lightly. "Is she okay?"

Squall caught me in his arms me and set me off in the direction we were walking towards. "Energy drink."

    "Ah. Gotcha."

"I rock a lawsuit when I'm going to court. A white suite when I'm getting divorced. A black suit in the funeral home. In my birthday suit when I'm home alone..."

"Shut her up!" Rinoa gritted, as she tossed her hands up in aggravation. "You're a terrible singer."

I turned to her, waiting until she caught my eye, to remark, "I could have just let you fall off of that cliff."

Selphie giggled, covering up her mouth. The girl tried her best to keep a serious face, but to her own dismay, failed. "My favorite part is when you swung like a monkey-I think you even made monkey noises."

Irvine wrapped his arm around the small brunette, wetting his lips. "What do I get for decoding those Balamb-threatening missiles and saving our life?"

Despite the fact that Trabia burnt to a crisp and broke her heart...

"Irvine!" she beamed, shock following a delighted, laugh. "You get to be my cowboy."

    "Forever?"

She stopped, looking over at him. A hidden smile behind his plush lips and purple eyes holding a meaningful glaze. Selphie's arms wrapped around his broad shoulders, clinging to him, tightly. "Irvy."

Cute, I thought. Very cute. Squall nudges me a bit, still leveled with my ear. "I don't want you fighting Edea with us."

"I think I'm more than capable-"

"No," Squall said, more harsher now. "Don't make me lose my patience. I don't want you in there."

I stepped away from him, looking over at the questioning group. "Just walk ahead of us, we'll be right there."

He raised a thin eyebrow at me. "Yes?"

All the while he had this light smile, like he knew what I was going to say before I even said it. I'm glad that he was making such light of this, 'cause I was deathly serious about it. No one tells me what I can and can't do. What I'm capable of and what I'm not. I left him curious for a few minutes, waiting until he's his cold and blunt-self again.

"What is it?" he asked, as he rested a hand upon his girlish hip.

I roamed my hands to my back pocket, quipping my weapon. I clicked open the sterling blade and resisted to use it as a mirror. He didn't even flinch, more like dulled at all senses. Was he serious? Maybe I can cut some of his hair off, atleast he'd flip out with some passion.

"Let me see yours," I teased, as I watched him take slow, yet graceful steps towards me. His eyes glowed gray and blue when he stepped into the sun's spotlight, a natural wave to his hair, that swayed, roughly with the breeze..

Squall was silent, turning the situation cold. It was no longer heated, like I intended it to be. I wanted him to know that I was 'capable'. To leave fire at each strike, to let him feel my anger, but the more steps he took, the heat had started to fade. Was this fear?

"Trying to prove yourself to me won't change my mind. You're not going." He gripped his gunblade, his gloves making a sickeningly tight noise against the handle.

There it was, the heat again. "Why aren't you objecting, then?"

He sort of shrugs, touching his blade to mine. A distracted look in his eye, as he swung his arm back, in what I'm guessing was his strike pose. My defense stayed at my side, waiting for him to make the first move. Feet against gravel, we cling.

The impact of his first hit had me staggering back. I didn't have time to even lift my arm, he was already on me. No leisure, as he does hit after hit, barely missing the clenched metal in my hand. I noticed the rocks he'd be sure to trip over and started to shift the dance. As you can imagine, it wasn't easy when you have Squall slashing at your form.

"Battles should be kept quiet," He said, no sign of worn breath, unlike me, who was sucking it in every chance I get. His strikes were greedy and obnoxious. Almost determined, as he played with a bit of magic in his hand. Red shot through the air and swarmed around my right arm. My blade was flung to the side.

I felt closed in with the realization that my only chance of winning was gone. I started to run for the blade, but he kicked it out of my reach. Displaying a grimace that portrayed his usual cockiness and superior ways. I felt my heart thump, wildly, as if it was warning me to move.

I stood immobile though, almost not making the branches he shot off above me. A little too close. I had pissed off the lion and was below meal worthy. I halted, tossing Squall the most devious look I could conjure. My hand going to my heart, then to my head. A summoner's bow, as I was about to call for Ifrit. "IFR-"

His hand clamped over my mouth. Storm eyes, a blaze. "Don't even think about it."

Sweat glistened down his throat, a trail, disappearing under his cotton shirt. A beautiful mess with his hair drawn to his face, covering over his left eye. Cheeks a fury red, with lips, a swollen pink. I let my arms fall over his neck and sobbed, exhaustedly. I would have moved in closer if it wasn't for the threatening blade that started to trail down my stomach.

I shut my eyes, letting out a lose breath. "I give."

He had become completely still after awhile, giving me time to notice the heat radiating from his face. He was so close to me, it made my body tremble in his firm grip. Feather like softness replaced the chattering of my teeth, and he kissed me.

    -

    Seifer: It's been awhile, ey?

    Lady_Saktaka: (Rolls eyes) Oh gawd.

Seifer: I know, Darling. It's been EXTRA lonely without me.

Lady_Saktaka: Actually, Squall's been EXTRA helpful. Can ya please leave?!

Seifer: Ice-Bitch? Hahahaha. You're cute, but not that cute.

Lady_Saktaka: Right...thanks for reading, I hope to get some type of-

Seifer: Response to this new girlfriend appication I've got. Just put your name, date of birth, and gender on the line. I swing-

Lady_Saktaka: Both ways, you read it, you review it.

Seifer: ...towards girls with blond hair.

    Lady_Saktaka: Thanks :)
