Eye Of The Storm

Chapter Thirteen

During the night as Squall slept, Selphie rounded up all the liquor in his place and dumped them down the sink. 'I hope he doesn't try killing me when he finds out what I did.' Selphie thought and threw the empty bottles away. Without any noise, she went back to the couch to sleep.

Morning came and Selphie winced when Squall noticed the empty bottles in the garbage. "What the hell is this?" Squall asked, looking at her. "Must have been sleep walking again." Selphie said and he glared. "Oh stop it. Just go to the Training Area or outside when you think you need a drink. Also talk with us, and if you don't knock it off I'm going to get you locked up in a rehabilitation clinic." She said and Squall hmphed.

"You're cruel." He finally said. "Now, now. I'll spank you if you get mean." She joked. "Whatever. I have to go now, I'll be late to work if I don't go now." Selphie rolled her eyes. "Your office isn't that far. You'll make it even if you don't leave for another 10 minutes." She said. "Well, I want to get a Cappucino." He said.

"Yeah, I suppose I should be going to the new SeeD's in training. I'm suppose to tell them crap about Sorceress's." She said and after locking up they left. Selphie went her own way and Squall went up the elevator. When he arrived, Cid waved him over. "Yes Sir?" Squall asked. "I was wondering if you picked out the group that's to be sent when we find the location of Seifer?"

"Kind of. I was thinking of Zell, Nida and Quistis for sure. Then maybe Xu, Irvine and possibly someone else." Squall said. "Good, but Irvine won't be able to go, he's go stay guard here. I'm having him watch you, so you don't sneak off." Cid said and Squall clenched his jaw. "That won't be necessary Sir." He gritted out. "I can't be too sure Squall. Now I got the group down as Quistis, Zell, Nida, Xu and...that arrogant guy that sticks around the library."

"You mean Gregg?" Squall asked through angered eyes and Cid nodded. "Yes. Now don't try to argue about Irvine and just relax." He said. With a stiff salute, Squall went to his desk and started paging through all the folders. 'I can't believe that old bastard is having Irvine babysit me when they go. No matter...when Seifer's in custody I'll just pay a visit when Cid's not around.' Squall thought and continued to work.

Meanwhile Raijin and Fuijin were in the Quad, in a corner so no one could hear them. "Do you think anyone notices anything ya know? They've been acting strange to me ya know." Raijin said. "I'm sure they're just pissed off because no one can find Seifer. I've heard that the water patrols have stopped and some of the people sent out are being called back." Fuijin said. "So, I don't think there's many out, so stop being paranoid." She said.

"Okay, but what about tomorrow when we visit Seifer ya know? We didn't find those items he wanted ya know." He whined and she kicked him. "Shut up idot. Seifer doesn't need his little photo's of Squall. He may feel guilty but he's till obsessed." She said and Raijin sighed. "I know Fuijin, ya know." He said.

"We're going at 8:30 am tomorrow, so don't be late." Fuijin warned. "I won't ya know. I'll set my alarm clock...ya know." He said. "Will you go see a speach therapist! It's damn annoying when you're always saying 'ya know'! Hyne.'' She said. "What do you mean ya know?" Fuijin narrowed her eye and walked away from him. "What did I do ya know?" He asked aloud, before running off to find her.

As the two ran around Selphie was in the Training Area with the little 13 year old SeeD's in training. They were being taught to fight in groups and such. "Ms. Tilmett? Are you and Commander Leonhart going out?" A girl asked and Selphie turned red.

"What!? Why do you ask that?" She asked and the group of seven smiled. "Well everyone's been saying that you've been at his dorm room alot and you two are around each other most of the time." A boy said. "People are actually spying on us!?" Selphie's eyes went large and they smirked. "So you two are a couple." Another kid quipped.

"I didn't say anything." Selphie said. "But you kissed him before going into his room." The first girl said and Selphie's jaw dropped. "WHAT!?' She screamed. "You loooove him." The kids chanted and she growled at them. "What's going on here?" Quistis asked, coming over. "Oh nothing. Just that Ms. Tilmett and Commander Leonhart are dating." Another boy sniggered and Quistis seen Selphie ready her Nunchaku to hit the children.

"Selphie." Quistis warned and the small girl put it down. 'Now it's nobody's buisness except Instructor Tilmett and Commander Leonhart if they are indeed dating. Now get back to training." Quistis said and the group went off, smirks plastered all over their gloating faces. "Come on Selphie, we should go after them." Quistis said and as she passed her she whispered. "It's good that Squall has someone like you now." She said and Selphie followed her, more red than ever.
