The party moved down the tunnel until they came across an ancient civilization inhabited by thousands of people. The party walked down the cobblestone street through the city amazed at the culture hidden away. Two men came up to the party and smiled "Welcome, welcome to our fair city travelers." They said.
  Dao Ming smiled "Thank you for the welcome could you tell us..."
"You should do well to teach your wife to hold her tongue in a mans presence." The first man said to Aero.
"Oh no she's not my wife."
"Oh? Are any of these women your wife?"
Aero and Tristan shook there heads. "Slaves then, at any rate come see the Emperor he can give you the information you seek. However, the women will have to be placed somewhere else during the meeting."
"You're not selling any of them are you?" The younger man asked eyeing the girls which girl he was curious about was a mystery.
"Selling them! I am not someone's property!" Soo Jin said angrily as she was about to pummel this guy to the ground. She was quickly held back by Tristan.
"I do apologize for my fiancee's rude behavior." Tristan said apologetically.
"That's quite alright but you will do well once you're married to teach her properly."
"Yes sir."
"The Emperors palace is right this way."
Soo Jin glared at Tristan calling her his fiancee she would never marry a guy like him. Of all the places the Leviathan gem had to be it had to be in a place ruled solely by men. The others were not too pleased about the situation as for Tristan and Aero since they were both men and fit right into this hellish society, who knows what they thought of this place.
When they arrived at the palace they were greeted by two servants a man and a woman. The party was separated Tristan and Aero followed the man to see the Emperor while the girls went with the woman. As they walked to the throne room Aero spotted a servant trying to clean the floors. The man that led them to the throne room walked right through it dirtying up the floor again. The servant gave out an aggravated sigh as he scrubbed harder on the floor.
The servant opened the doors escorting Aero and Tristan inside before closing the door. The Emperor was a bulbous middle aged man with no sense of dignity it seemed.
"Greetings please have a seat." He said with a mouthful of food.
Aero and Tristan sat down opposite the Emperor. "We've been told that the Leviathan gem is located in this city." Tristan said.
"Sure is. Its placed on top of a statue in the cathedral." The Emperor said as he grabbed a thigh off the table. "Where are my manners? Please let me offer you some wine. I can also give you an evening with a beautiful woman."
"Um No thank you." Tristan and Aero said together.
"Not into women? That's okay we have plenty of men here for that kind of thing. At any rate the wine." The Emperor snapped his fingers as the servant who was cleaning the floors earlier came in with a pitcher of wine. Aero realized he wasn't a servant but a slave as he noticed he was hardly wearing anything. He couldn't be any older then Aysu, knowing that just didn't sit well.
Aero watched as the boy poured wine into the Emperor's goblet as the Emperor's hand snaked up the boy's thigh. Aero felt sick to his stomach as for Tristan he either didn't see it or he ignored the sight. The boy poured wine in Tristan's goblet before heading towards Aero's goblet. The boy tripped dropping the pitcher shattering it spilling plenty of the wine on Aero.
"I am terribly sorry I shall have him properly punished for this." The Emperor said gripping the boys wrist hard. The boy cried out an apology before the Emperor pushed the boy's face to the ground. "It's quite alright it was just an accident." Aero said.
Tristan didn't like seeing the sight either. "Thank you for your time." Tristan said before following Aero out.
The Emperor glared at his slave entirely pissed right now. He was going to teach him once and for all.
Aero and Tristan walked to where the girls were waiting for them. "We know where the gem is." Tristan said cheerfully.
"Thank God! I can't stand staying in this place where the women only care about making themselves look pretty so they can please there men." Soo Jin said.
Aero looked around and noticed Dao Ming was missing. "Where's Dao Ming?"
"She's in the back..." Kris said.
   Aero strolled over to the back not letting Kris finish what she was going to say. He opened the door and stepped in he froze in his tracks at what he saw. Dao Ming turned from the mirror to look at Aero she was in the process of changing when he walked in unannounced. Luckily for her she was mostly dressed except her upper torso she covered herself up.
Aero stood there for a moment or two before he left shutting the door. His face was as red as his robe when he joined the others while they waited for Dao Ming. Dao Ming came out and the group headed for the cathedral neither Aero nor Dao Ming made eye contact with each other, nor did they speak to each other.
The party went inside the cathedral to find the statue with the Leviathan gem. Only to find several statues within the cathedral. "Did he say which statue?" Antiope asked.
"No."
The group split up and examined each statue carefully. "Hey I think I found it!" Kage exclaimed excitedly. The group hurried over to the statue of the Emperor atop his crown shown a sapphire gem with an image of Leviathan. "Now all we have to do is see who will be able to posses it so we can get out of here." Tristan said.
    "Ah the Leviathan gem I thank you so much for finding it for me. Now I will take it to Rossima." Lyke said.
   Everyone drew their weapons ready to fight Lyke "Once I'm done with you I will take your gems to Rossima."
Lyke attacked with his sword making the group land backwards hitting the statue. The seven of them attacked Lyke with all their strength he dodged and parried each one of there attacks with ease. Lyke used a special technique making everyone on the verge of death and too weak to stand.
Lyke gave a smug grin as he moved to the statue to receive the Leviathan gem then claim the other gems from the soon to be dead party members. Lyke reached for the gem as Aero and Dao Ming somehow found the strength to stand.
"Impossible you should be on the verge of death right now." Lyke noticed there gems they carried grew bright as there eyes were a clear white. Dao Ming threw her fan like the wind as Aero added a magic spell to it. The fan hit straight on cutting Lyke to pieces while the fire spell singed his flesh as the fan struck. Lyke literally fell to pieces on the floor. Dao Ming and Aero also fell to the ground exhausted from the battle.
After the party rested for a bit they decided to figure out who the gem belongs too. Tristan gabbed the gem nothing happen as he held it in his hands he passed it around to the rest of the party before it was handed to Kage. As she held it in her hands the Leviathan inside began to stir. The party members watched as she was engulfed in a blue light. Kage watched as Leviathan came out from the gem along with his tsunami before it disappeared.
Kage looked dumbstruck as she was soaked. The Leviathan had found who it belonged too. "Well what now?" Dao Ming asked.
"We leave here in search of the next gem of course." Soo Jin said.
  Aero spotted something on the wall he examined it carefully it read: A top a mountain of fire and brimstone lies the old man of the mountain.
"I think I just found our next clue to find the next gem." Aero said.
As the party left the civilization Aero spotted the slave boy from the palace running towards them. He looked badly bruised and beaten up to say the least as he within the group. A group of men on horseback came up to them.
"Hand over the boy." The leader said.
"What for?" Aero asked.
"He needs to be severely punished   for his actions. After all he is still rightfully owned by the Emperor himself."
"I see. How much would it cost to buy him from the Emperor?"
"The Emperor demands a high price for any of his slaves."
"Will this be enough?" Aero asked taking the thousand gil Kage got from the kraken to the men.
"Hey!" Kage shouted.
  "It will do good luck training that piece of garbag." He said with a laugh as he rode off. The boy gave a bow of gratitude at his new master who he was determined to do his best to serve.
  "What's your name?" Aero asked.
"My name is Galen."
"Well once we make it back to the surface you are free."
The boy nodded whether he really understood was beyond him. "You used up all my money I got from battling that kraken." Kage said not pleased.
"Well I'll just have to make up for it by teaching you some more spells. By the way how is that water spell coming along?"
"Well I haven't had much time to practice it." Kage said sadly.
The group made it back to the surface through Leviathan's mouth. They decided to set up camp for the night before searching for the next gem.
Rossima was not pleased Lyke failed him and worse he died in the process. He thought carefully about achieving his goal the attack the mage and the healer used was incredible. There has to be a way to counter that attack if they got any stronger and achieved all fourteen gems his plans would all be for nothing. Perhaps Sidene will do against the party after all she is more mature and skilled then Lyke ever was.
Everyone was asleep for the night except Aero and Dao Ming who sat quietly by the fire. Galen lay a good distance from the group. Aero and Dao Ming haven't said anything to each other since the incident back there. Galen laid awake looking at his new master and the healer by the fire. He finally heard those two finally speak to each other.
"Aero...about the boy? What are you going to do with him?"
  "I'm letting him go to start his own life."
"So your just going to leave him!"
"Well its not like we can take him with us now can we?!"
"No, I'd hate to see Rossima get his hands on that poor boy."
"Yea same here, its bad enough he has Aysu in his clutches I don't want to see the boy in any danger."
"Aero..."
   Aero looked up to see her giving him a warm smile. Galen watched as the healer gave him a hug. Are they in love? Galen thought to himself as he turned over. It wasn't his concern what his new master did he just had to do his best to let him stay there was no possible way he could survive on his own.
"If you're taking first watch I'll take second." Dao Ming said to Aero as she went to go lay down. He'd make a good father some day he clearly liked kids. Dao Ming stopped in her tracks where did that thought come from? She shook her head of the thought as she went to lay down.
Galen watched Aero poke at the fire his eyes went wide when he saw his master grip at his chest as he started to sweat and breathing horribly. Concerned Galen got up and came over to him he wanted to reach out and help him but the last time he tried with his last master...well it didn't end well.
"Master..." He said cautiously not sure what to expect.
Aero turned and looked at Galen. "Galen what are you doing up? You should be asleep right now."
"I couldn't sleep."
"Well there's probably a good reason for that." Aero said as he opened his bag and pulled out an extra red robe. "Here put this on."
Galen was stunned never before has he been given clothes by his master. He quickly put the robe on feeling warmer now.
"Where's your mother anyway?"
"I really don't know we were separated at the slave auction ten years ago." Galen said.
"I see." Aero felt hands on his shoulders. "What are you doing?"
"Your too tense master just relax a little." He said as he began to massage his shoulders.
"Don't call me master I am not your master my name is Aero."
"You and the healer seem pretty close."
Aero sighed at that comment why does everyone think that?
"We are not an item." Aero said in his usual defense startling the boy. "I..I'm sorry I didn't mean anything by it. Please punish me for my misbehavior." Galen said.
  Aero sighed at him at how he was just willing to be put in his place as it were. "I am not going to punish you Galen you need to learn to be a fighter."
"But..."
"Come with me I can t each you several things." Aero said.
Galen felt nervous he heard that said before by previous masters and it ended in a way he'd prefer not to think about it, Galen reluctantly followed Aero.
"I am very skilled in magic abilities, but I am also skilled in hand to hand combat." Aero said.
"Um...I'm not sure about all this." Galen said.
"Don't worry. Now show me your stance."
Galen had no idea what to do at all. Aero came over moving his arms and legs until he was in a proper fighting position. "Now hit me."
Galen did as he was told and swung his fist at Aero's face. Aero dodged it with ease. "I'll let you in on a little secret Galen."
"What's that?"
"There's an easier way to learn magic then the way I'm teaching the ninja. Its how I mastered so many spell so fast would you like to learn?"
"You'd teach me?"
"Of course."
"But why?"
Aero opened his mouth to answer but nothing came out. Why was he letting this kid he hardly knew know the secrets of magic? Was it because he felt sorry for him? Or was it because in someway he reminded him of himself? Ignoring his question he went to explaining magic and it properties.
"Magic is simple everyone has the four basic elements within their body."
  Galen gave a puzzled look not understanding. "Ok what moves through your veins?"
"Blood?"
"Yes and your blood contains water, now for fire we get our warmth from the power of the sun which is nothing more then a fireball out in space. Next earth we live on the planet we get all our nutrients from when we kill an animal and eat it we are eating its nutrients it got from the earth. Wind when you breath in and out you;e breathing oxygen when you breath you in a way are creating wind."
Galen let it sink in even though it didn't make much sense. Aero began to show him how to cast the four basic spells at ease. Galen was surprised at how fast he was picking this up.
"Good your getting it." Aero said pleased that one of his students was making progress. He probably should have shown Kage this trick but she was a ninja and older then Galen she could learn the hard way.
"Come on lets go." Aero said heading back to camp.
"Thanks Aero." Galen said with a smile.
"Your welcome. But let this come out and I'll kill you."
"Um..." Galen said not sure how to reply to that.
Aero laughed. "I'm joking Galen."
"Hey Aero, who is Aysu?"
Aero stopped in his tracks to look at Galen "She's my little sister she's about your age. That Bastard Rossima has her." Aero gritted his teeth at the thought of Rossima. Galen felt bad for bringing it up.
"You know if your real nice maybe the others will teach you a thing o two."
"Really?"
"Maybe now go off and get some sleep you need it."
Aero's eyes went wide as he felt the boy embrace him with a hug. Aero wrapped his arms around Galen returning the hug before the boy went off to bed.
"I saw that." Aero turned to face Dao Ming "What?"
"Playing Big Brother is awfully sweet of you Aero."
"Dao Ming I..."
"Yes Aero?"
"We should get some sleep we have to find this mountain of fire and brimstone."
Dao Ming nodded. "We will discuss about us in a later time." She whispered in his ear as she went to lay down. Aero felt a shiver run up his spine and an urge to show off some high quality spells to her. Aero woke up just a dream but how much was the dream? He looked over at Galen well clearly his talk with him was real. "I know its the incident back at the ancient city is why I had such a dream about Dao Ming." He told himself.
  The party moved on leaving the vanishing isle for clues of the mountain of fie and brimstone. As the party set sail on the boat there was a group discussion on what to do with the boy.
"Could we just leave him with CId?" Kris asked.
"No this is something Aero's going to have to deal with since he is his master now. He's the one that will decide on what to do." Antiope said.
"I can't just leave him, but I don't want him to get hurt. He has already taking a liking to us." Aero said.
"We will discuss this more when we get back to Cid." Antiope said.
