A/N: Kamakiri, Muci, Kayla and Gslinger: Thanks so much for your reviews! So, yeah, we’ll be getting back to that rat issue in the next chapter, but for now, here’s a little Tseng/Elena smut. So, yeah, het lemon here folks. And an extremely apologetic Kadaj. Poor kid. On with the story! *****Chapter 13
Tseng rubbed at his tired eyes before he tossed the newspaper he had been reading on the bedside table and leaned back against the headboard. He listened to the sound of the shower running for several moments before he realized he was dangerously close to falling asleep, and dinner hadn’t even arrived yet, and he desperately needed to eat. He and Elena hadn’t gotten a chance to eat a proper lunch as they’d been too busy following what turned out to be a false lead. They had been searching for Vincent for two days now and were still no closer to finding the man. It had been the most frustrating 48 hours of Tseng’s life.
He picked up his cell phone and dialed Rufus’ number from memory and patiently waited for the president or his voicemail to pick up. A moment later, the phone was answered, but not by Rufus. “Hello?” It took Tseng a moment to recognize the voice, because the last time he’d heard it, Kadaj had been nearly manic and trying to kill Rufus. He sounded entirely different now and much more like the 20 year-old kid he was. “Kadaj, this is Tseng. Where’s Rufus?” He was very careful to keep his tone neutral and accusation free, but inside he was feeling a bit anxious. Why had Kadaj answered the phone? “Oh. Hello. Rufus is in the middle of making dinner and asked me to grab the phone. He thought it might be you,” Kadaj said. He sounded painfully awkward and unsure of himself, and Tseng could well imagine why. The last time he and Kadaj had traded words, Kadaj had nearly killed him. There was a pause, and Tseng kept silent, because his gut instinct was telling him that Kadaj wanted to say something. “I’m sorry.” Kadaj’s voice trembled through the phone. “I’m so very sorry. I . . .no, there’s no excuse for it at all. All I can say is sorry.” “Tseng? Who’s on the phone?” Elena stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in a terry robe and toweling her hair dry. Tseng shook his head sharply and pulled the phone away from his ear and switched it over to speaker mode. “Kadaj, Elena is here with me,” Tseng said. “I’ve put it on speaker phone. You might want to repeat what you just said.” Elena’s eyes grew wide. “I’m sorry,” Kadaj’s voice said again. There were tears in that voice. “I’m really sorry for what I did.” Tseng met Elena’s eyes across the room, and after a moment she smiled sadly, and he nodded. “We forgive you,” Elena said. There was the unmistakable sound of sobbing on the other end, and then quite suddenly Rufus was there. “Tseng?” “It’s both of us, sir,” Elena said. She sat on the edge of the bed and continued to towel her hair dry. “Is he okay?” “Yes,” Rufus said. “The past few days have been eventful, and he’s been wanting to apologize to the both of you since his first session with Penelope, I think.” Even if Reno hadn’t told them about the recent developments between Rufus and Kadaj, they would have known something was up by the fond tone of Rufus’ voice. Tseng and Elena exchanged another look, and again, Elena smiled. “He’ll be fine with you around,” she said. “You’ve been talking to Reno,” Rufus said with a chuckle. “More like Reno’s been doing all the talking,” Tseng said with a snort. “I couldn’t get a word in edgewise.” Rufus laughed. “Sir, it’s okay with us,” Elena said. “So please don’t worry about it.” “Thank you,” Rufus said. There was a pause, and then Rufus spoke again. “I’ve put you on speaker on our end. Tell us, have you made any headway on your mission?” “I’m afraid not,” Tseng said. “We started in Costa Del Sol and North Corel on the first day, and today moved on to Nibelheim and Rocket Town. No one has seen him, Rufus, or they’re just not telling us. And if he is around, he knows we’re looking for him now.” “And you can’t really tell anyone why you’re looking for him, can you?” Kadaj asked. “No, I’m afraid not,” Elena said. “Not everyone knows what happened in Niebelheim, but enough do that if it got out that Sephiroth were alive, it would cause a panic.” “But. . .he’s not bad at all,” Kadaj said quietly. Elena and Tseng looked at each other, both of them arched a brow upwards. “I took Kadaj to meet Sephiroth,” Rufus’s voice explained. “They’ve hit it off quite nicely, as you might expect brothers to. And both of them are eager to meet their father. Because, Vincent is, for all practical purposes, Kadaj’s father as well.” “By the Planet, I guess he would be, wouldn’t he?” Elena mused. She shook her head. “This just gets stranger as it goes on. Sir, we’ll keep on it. Won’t we, Tseng?” “Of course,” Tseng replied with a nod. “We’ll call again tomorrow night. Have a good evening, both of you.” “Thank you,” Kadaj said. “Good night,” Rufus said, and the line went dead. Tseng flipped the phone shut and tossed it on the bedside table. “Well, at least we don’t have to worry about the Boss spending all his time alone anymore.” Elena smirked. “He might actually sleep in his bed now, rather than at his desk.” “Oh, I would imagine so,” Tseng said with a chuckle. He shook his head. “This is all so strange.” “Yeah, well, you’d think we’d all be used to it by now.” Elena finished toweling her hair dry and carried the towel to the bathroom before returning to perch on the edge of the bed again. The room, with its queen-sized bed, had been the only one left in the inn. “You would think,” Tseng said. “The food should be here any moment.” Elena smiled weakly. “Good, I’m so hungry.” “And tired,” Tseng murmured. He reached out and moved a damp tendril of blonde hair away from her eyes. “Are you doing okay?” “I’m fine,” Elena said. “Compared to past missions, this one is pretty laid back, wouldn’t you think?” “Yeah. . .but near impossible.” Tseng let his hand drop and he heaved a sigh. “We won’t find him if he doesn’t want to be found. Vincent probably already knows we’re looking for him, and he’s probably avoiding us.” “Probably.” Elena shrugged. “There’s nothing else we can do tonight, so we might as well enjoy the food and get some rest and just not think about it until tomorrow.” “Right you are,” Tseng said. A knock on the door heralded the arrival of room service, and ten minutes later Tseng and Elena were seated at the room’s small table and enjoying a dinner of filet mignon and roasted vegetables. “That hit the spot.” Elena made a happy sound as she pushed her empty plate away and leaned back in her chair. “I feel better already.” “Good.” Tseng set his utensils down and leaned back in his chair. “It’s still early.” “Yeah,” Elena said. “We could see if there’s anything on the T.V.” Tseng caught her gaze and gave her a slow smile. She was quite beautiful, with her blonde hair damp and slightly curly. She must straighten it every morning, Tseng thought. He thought it strange that in all the years he’d worked with her, he’d never noticed that. “You’re staring,” Elena said. She was smiling slightly. “Do I look that bad without my make-up?” Tseng shook his head. “No, you’re beautiful,” he murmured. “That’s nice of you to say,” Elena said with a laugh. She stood from her chair and stretched. She hissed softly as she lowered her arms. “Still in pain?” Tseng asked. “Yeah. Kadaj packs a punch,” Elena said grimly. “I never ever want to fight him again.” “I don’t think that will be an issue any more.” Tseng stood and crossed the distance between them. He laid his hands on her shoulders and turned her so that she was facing away from him, and then herded her towards the bed. “Face down,” he commanded gently. “Whatever you say, Chief.” She lay down on the bed and snagged a pillow to tuck beneath her chin. Tseng kicked his shoes off before he got up on the bed and straddled the small of her back. She made a surprised sound, but didn’t object. “Where does it hurt?” He asked. “Mostly my neck, shoulders and upper back,” Elena said. Her voice was muffled by the pillow. “I’m going to touch you,” Tseng warned. “I hope so!” Elena said with a puff of laughter. Tseng smiled, and then started to massage her shoulders through the terry robe. Elena groaned audibly, and a moment later her whole form relaxed into the bed. “Gods, that’s good,” Elena moaned. “Don’t stop!” “I wasn’t planning on it,” Tseng said. A comfortable silence fell between them as he worked the knots and kinks out of her shoulders and upper back. He worked slowly, enjoying the feel of her muscles beneath his hands. He wanted to feel her skin--his fingers all but itched with the desire. “Tseng . . .” Elena’s voice was nearly inaudible. “Yeah?” “Can I take the robe off?” Tseng’s hands paused for a minute before he continued. “Only if it’s what you want.” “I’ve wanted it for years,” Elena said. “Haven’t we already had this conversation?” “I guess we have.” He smiled slightly and moved off to the side. “Roll over.” She rolled over and made herself comfortable and then smiled up at him. “You sure?” Tseng murmured. He straddled her hips again and his hands went to the ties of her robe. “I’m sure,” Elena whispered. “Can I say it again?” Tseng whispered. He opened her robe and drank in the sight of her perfectly rounded breasts and the smooth skin of her stomach. “Say what?” Elena murmured. She was trembling slightly beneath him, and she swallowed convulsively when Tseng ran his thumbs over her nipples before cupping her breasts with his hands. “I love you.” Tseng leaned down and captured her lips with his own. Her lips parted slightly, and he took advantage of the opening and twined their tongues together. Her arms slid beneath his own and around him. He deepened the kiss, and she moaned softly into his mouth. He broke the kiss slowly and smiled down at her. “And it shows,” Elena said with a breathless laugh. She ground her hips upwards and into the erection Tseng now sported. “Elena!” Tseng groaned, and sparks of pleasure radiated through his system. “Ne, Tseng. . .make love to me?” Elena whispered. He groaned as she made the offer. “I don’t have any protection, Elena.” “So?” Elena whispered. “So, if we did this now, you might get pregnant,” Tseng murmured. He was already mentally trying to get himself into a zone where he could control his urges. “I know that,” she said, rolling her eyes. “Do you want kids, Tseng?” “Yeah,” he replied with no hesitation what so ever. It was something he’d thought about before, but he’d never really found anyone to have kids with. He was a Turk, which meant his life was always on the line, and Tseng had never quite had the heart to subject anyone to a relationship with him, much less raise a family. The risk of leaving behind a widow and kids was far too high. “Me, too,” Elena said. Her lips quirked upwards. “Elena. . .” “Yes, I know the risks, and I’m aware that we could die someday and leave orphans behind, but you know what? I don’t really care for what ifs. If I spent all of my time worrying about what might happen, I would have never become a Turk in the first place. I want kids, Tseng. More specific, I want to have your kids. I’ve loved you for so long that I’ve had a lot of time to think about it, and I’m not going to let fear of the future get in the way of what I want. Are you?” “Elena . . .” Tseng found himself at a loss for words. “So make love to me,” Elena whispered. She reached up to lay her palm on his cheek, and she smiled. “And if we’re lucky, we’ll get that kid we’ve both been wanting. There’s no one in this world I’d rather have children with.” He answered her with a kiss. Elena laughed breathlessly when he let her up for air, and her deft fingers started on his tie. She had it off and on the floor in less than three seconds, and then started in on the buttons on his shirt. “Hm. . Nice,” Elena murmured. She ran the palms of her hands over the planes of his chest. Tseng groaned when she brushed across his nipples. She grinned wickedly and leaned upwards. Tseng’s eyes closed as he felt the wet warmth of her tongue circle his left nipple, and then he groaned out loud when her lips closed around it and she started to tug on it gently with her teeth. It was all he could do to not collapse boneless on top of her. “Gods, Elena!” “Mmmm,” Elena tugged one last time before she released her hold and lay back on the pillow. Her hands started on the buckle of Tseng’s belt. Things moved quickly after that. Tseng promised himself that next time he would take the time to worship her lithe body properly, but now . . .he knew it wasn’t an option. Elena was setting the pace, and it was as if she were starving for him. It took her no time at all to get Tseng naked, and then she surprised Tseng by rolling them over so that she was straddling his stomach. She shifted slightly, and Tseng’s breath caught when he felt the head of his arousal nudge her wet warmth. “I’m sorry, Tseng . . I wanted to take this slower . .but . .” her voice trailed off, and she shifted her hips again. They both moaned when he slid into her slick warmth, and Elena shifted back further until she had completely taken him in. “Oh, gods. That’s good,” she whispered. She closed her eyes and placed her hands on Tseng’s chest before slightly rotating her hips. “Yes, it is,” Tseng managed to gasp. “I love you,” Elena whispered. She started to ride him with slow deliberate movements of her hips. “Elena, look at me,” Tseng murmured. Her eyes slowly opened, and they locked gazes. Tseng held her gaze and placed his hands on her hips and started to flex his hips upwards until he found and matched her rhythm. A moment later, Elena’s eyes widened slightly, and her pace increased. “Oh, gods, Tseng. . I’m close,” she gasped. “I’m with you,” he assured her, and he matched her pace. He was gripping her so tightly that he was probably giving her bruises, but she wasn’t complaining, and Tseng knew she would be if it bothered her. They went over the edge together, Elena laughing with joy as the pleasure washed over and through her. Tseng gasped sharply as he came, and he wrapped his arms around her and held her close when she collapsed on top of him. “Oh. . .oh that was . . .awesome!” Elena was still laughing, and tears were forming in the corners of her eyes. Tseng found himself grinning. “Yes, it was.” He knew he sounded arrogant, but he couldn’t help it. It had been good. “You did all the work, though.” Elena propped herself up so that her hands were splayed across his chest and her chin was resting atop them. Her eyes were sparkling with love and laughter, and the sight all but took Tseng’s breath away. “Next time you can do all the work,” Elena said. She shifted and gave him a gentle kiss. She giggled as she gave a sudden yawn. “I’m tired.” “Indeed,” Tseng said. He ran a hand over her hair before he pulled her down for another kiss. “Me too.” “Shower first,” Elena said. She made a face. “I’m all sticky now.” “Shower first,” Tseng said. He sat up slowly, and she rolled off of him, almost reluctantly. He stood from the bed and offered her his hand. “Coming?” Elena gave him a wicked grin and let him lever her up off the bed. “I just did, but I get the feeling I will be again before the shower is over.” Tseng’s only reply was a smirk, and then he led her off to the bathroom. ***** TBCWhile AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
