     Aero listened to the others talk his mind was on other things. He knew since he was a young age that he was different from his village. For the longest time there had only been black and white mages in the village no red mages. Why was that? He didn't know, nor did he understand why he was capable of both black and white magic with ease. Aysu was only capable of training to become a red mage because Aero was willing to teach her. This brought on the thought of that winter's night standing under the statue of Xing Ji as his mother left him. This painful memory brought tears to his eyes he quickly shut his eyes to keep the tears from falling.
      "You guys are lucky considering how you grew up compared to me. Our owner bred us like livestock, he would take his best slave be male or female and take it to an open market where they would be bred by other slaves by other owners. Once the child conceived by the slaves was born is instantly sold to the highest bidder depending on the slave owner sometimes they wait until the child is old enough before being sold in the slave auction." Galen said.
   Everyone was quiet listening to Galen's story. It made Aero even more disgusted at the thought of slavery. He walked away from the group as he felt one of his attacks coming on. He felt like his internal organs were on fire ready to burst, Aero cursed to himself as he crouched over in obvious pain.
   This brought the attention of Akira. "Hey what's with the mage?"
   Eyes fell on the mage gripping his chest as he started hyperventilating. Dao Ming was concerned each time he'd have one of his attacks it was worse then the last time. Galen was even more concerned the she was Galen went over to Aero to se if there was anything he could do to help.
   "Aero..." Galen said putting his hand on his shoulder.
  "Don't touch me!" Aero snapped swatting his hand away.
Galen had a hurt expression on his face. The others were surprised to hear Aero snap at the boy Dao Ming wasn't sure what to as she watched Galen walk off. Aero took a deep breath and finally the pain subsided for now he turned back to his companions who gave him a questionable look.
"What?"
    He looked over at Dao Ming who gave him a disapproving look. For some reason that bothered him. It was then he noticed Galen was missing. "Where is Galen?"
  "Oh he left." Akira said nonchalantly.
  "What! Why didn't you stop him?" Aero asked angrily.
"We aren't babysitters Aero." Kris said.
  "Nequam wu jiazhi de sishengzi spurii!" Aero said as he started up the mountain.
   "What the hell did he just say?" Tristan asked. The others shrugged as they followed him up the mountain. Dao Ming noted that he said something in a dead language that had a slight dialect to her ancestors who colonized the healing clan over 500 years ago.
    Galen stopped walking up the mountain he realized that this wasn't such a good idea. He should have just gone back to the village instead he was nothing more then a burden to them. He looked down below his eyes went wide at how far up he was. To Galen it looked like he was several hundred feet up when in reality he was only a few feet up. Galen backed away from the edge there had to be an easier way. Galen spotted a cave that should keep him from looking over the edge of the mountain. He walked inside the fire spell Aero taught him leading the way unaware that something was following him.
     "I'm a major disappointment to him. He shouldn't have bothered buying me." Galen said to himself as he slumped down against the wall of the cave. The shadow started growing bigger as it got closer feeding off the boy's fears and worries that was imminent. The shadow soon covered Galen's body feasting and Galen not being able to do anything about it. Galen found himself falling into darkness as more fears and worries consumed him feeding the shadow more.
   "Your worthless, you'd be better as a slave I should just sell you in the next slave auction we come across." Aero said.
   "No please! Anything but that!" Galen pleaded. The shadow grew darker around him as his biggest fear came out.
   Aero and the others moved up the mountain looking for signs of Galen. "Where is he?" Aero asked getting more irritated by the second ready to blow up the mountain. "He couldn't have gotten too far." Dao Ming said reassuringly so Aero wouldn't do something drastic.
  "Hey I found a cave." Kage said.
"Did he go in there?" Akira asked.
    Aero went in first using a flame to light the way. Dao Ming's new pet clutched itself closer as if the lethifoldling was scared. The group moved through the cave unaware that they were being watched. A shiver ran up Kage's spine as she looked down to see a spider. "Ahh!!!!" She screamed bringing the attention of the party to her.
     "What is it?" Soo Jin asked.
     "I saw a spider."
   Kris rolled her eyes at such a fear. Her own eyes went wide as the cave was engulfed in flames and coming right at her. She screamed just as loud as Kage did.
"What in Gaia's name is wrong with you two?" Tristan asked.
Aero and Dao Ming moved on ahead to find Galen slouched against the wall a dark form suronding his body. "What the hell is that?" Aero asked ready to attack.
"Aero he's saying something."
"Please don't sell me Aero I'll try harder."
"Galen I am not going to sell you." Aero said as he tried to get the form off Galen. It was then that Aero and Dao Ming heard the screams of their companions. "I'll go check on them." Dao Ming tuned back towards the way she had came to check on the others.
She was rather worried when she got back to the party she found them in a state like Galen. She wasn't sure what to do about them. She felt a cold presence engulf her as she saw her companions all dead she went over to one of her fallen comrades and cast life, they didn't come back to life. "No!" Dao Ming screamed.
   "Your pathetic and weak there's no point in us even being friends. Kris is stronger then you I think I prefer her to you." Tristan said to Soo Jin.
   "No I'm not weak! How dare you say that to me!"
"It's true though why else would your parents leave you at the temple? Now if you'll excuse me I don't want to be bothered by you anymore."
"No don't leave me."
Kage was stuck in a giant spider web. She moved but the sticky web just clung to her tighter as a large creepy spider the size of her crept closer. She screamed only to have the baby spider coming in hoards as they were ready to feast on her body.
   Tristan found every bone in his body broken unable to move. "You know this is sad, there's no way I'd ever be with you even now with your body broken. But don't worry I found someone to replace you." Soo Jin said as her hand intertwined with Akira. Tristan opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. He watched the two walk off together, suddenly a shadowy figure strikes Soo Jin down.
Kris found herself being burned alive as she attempt to put herself out the flames grew bigger. Akira sees people from his village slain. He heads to the temple only to see Rossima slay the elder. He hears the cries of Kage and his mother in pain as they dangle in chains from the ceiling as one of Rossima's relatives whip and assault the two. "It's you fault this is happeningto them. I'll be nice and let one of them go you just have to choose." Akira looked from his mother to Kage he just couldn't choose if he chose his mother then Kage would die, but if he chose Kage then his mother would die.
Antiope went up to Okylae her best friend since they were kids. "Okyale hey!" Antiope said excitedly. Okylae turned to her and gave her a questionable look. "Do I know you?" She asked. Antiope gave a laugh at the joke "stop joking Okylae it's me Antiope." Okylae gave her a blank look as if she were crazy "I'm sorry Antiope I have no idea whi you are."
"No you couldn't have forgotten me." She then went to all her comrades who gave her a similar response.
Aero was still busy trying to get him to understand that he wasn't going to sell Galen back into slavery or leaving him alone. A shadow came up and engulfed him. "You are a disgrace to your people Aero I can't allow you into the lifestream." Xing Ji said to him.
"Damn it Aero! You can't handle Galen or Aysu they are better off if they never knew you." Huo said.
"God damn it Aero you and I have been through so much and yet you wont show me the slightest hint on how you feel about me. Forget it Aero I was better off not knowing you. In fact we all were, I'm taking Galen and Aysu back to my village where they never have to see you again." Dao Ming said taking Galen and Aysu away.
"No please don't go I hate being alone!" Aero called out to deaf ears.
       "Why? Why must everyone leave me?"
"Hey you can break through this." A voice in the back of his head said. "Huh?"
"Overcome this fear and you'll be back to normal."
"I don't know if I can, what's the point they'll just all leave me eventually just like my mother. I have to be responsible and make sure Galen and Aysu grow up right. I have to defeat Rossima or the world will be destroyed."
    "Stop putting this burden all on your shoulders let the others help after all they are your friends aren't they?"
"Freinds?"
  "That's right, friends don't let leave friends behind they stick together."
"Friends...Soo Jin, Kris, Antiope, Tristan, Kage, Akira, Galen, and Dao Ming. As long as I have them to bakc me up i have nothing to fear."
"You got it."
  "Hey who are you?" The voice had vanished Aero felt back to normal as he saw the shadow that was attached to him withering in agony as it slowly disappeared. Aero turned to Galen who was still where he left him begging Aero not to sell him. Aero bent down and forced Galen to look at him "Galen I am not going to sell you back into slavery, nor are you a disappointment to me."
   "Your not going to sell me?"
  "No."
"I'm not a disappointment to you?"
"No your not a disappointment to me Galen, in fact you have some real potential."
  "I do?"
"That's right Galen you can do anything if you set your mind to it." Aero watched as the shadow that surrounded Galen began to fade away and dissipate. Galen's eyes began to change from a blank expressionless eyes to his normal hazel eyes. "Aero? Galen said as the rest of the shadow vanished lost its hold on his body.
"Glad to have you back. Keep your guard up and don't show fear you don't want them to come back do you?" Galen shook his head not wanting to feel that way again. "Lets go."
   Galen wrapped his arms around Aero in a tight hug, Aero wrapped his own hands around the boy returning the hug a smile on his face. The two headed back to find the other party members consumed by the shadows. Aero and Galen split up to help the others overcome their fear.
    "Dao Ming." Aero said as he heard her mumble about something nor working and somebody not coming back to her. It wasn't hard for her him to figure out what she was afraid of. "Dao Ming we are all fine and alive we are not dead."
"But I used my magic and they wont come back my magic isn't good enough."
  "Yes it is Dao Ming don't let this illusion fool you, your an excellent healer."
"But these bodies wont come back to life."
"Those bodies aren't real Dao Ming if they were you'd have been able to bring them back to life."
"I could?"
"Yes."
   The shadow that consumed her vanished as she believed what Aero told her. "Aero!" She said with tears in her eyes as she hugged him. Cloaky was chewing on the remains of the shadow that was vanishing.
     Tristan went over to help Soo Jin overcome her fear when he came too. Reassuring her that he didn't think of her as weak and pathetic. "Tristan?" She said as she came to.
"Soo Jin."
Soo Jin bald her fist and punched Tristan square in the face. "Ow! What the hell was that for?"
    "You know why you jerk! How could you choose her over me?"
   "Huh? What are you talking about?
The party left the cave and started up the mountain for the gem. Soo Jin and Tristan arguing on the way. "Even I thought you had better taste then that. What does she have that I don't?"
"Who the hell are you talking about?" Tristan then noticed Soo Jin's glare as Kris walked pass them. "Oh God what on earth gave you the idea I even liked her? And since we are on the subject what of you and Akira?"
     At the mention of Akira Kage wrapped her arm around him in a possessive manner. "What about Akira and I?"
"Oh don't play coy I know you'd be with Akira if you could get Kage out of the way. You would sneak off to have some alone time with Akira. Just admit it you like him."
  "Alright I admit it I like him! But me and Akira...." She said starting to laugh at the idea. "He is part samurai and therefore we have a lot in common, but that is all I have no interest in that man other then that."
   Tristan didn't argue with her anymore since he wasn't sure how to reply to it. Akira walked quietly up the trail with Kage close by. He thought about the fear of Rossima not fulfilling his promise to release his people within the crystals, and making him choose between his mother and Kage. Could he really trust him to keep his promise and let his people go once he steals all the gems from the party? He didn't have much choice he had to do.
