Disclaimer: It's a work in progress focusing around FINAL FANTASY 13-2 AND 13-3 and I don't own FF or the characters. I do not make money off these stories. |
So, anyone who has played the actual game should already know how it ended. XD I really don’t think it’s necessary to rewrite the same ol’ scenery just to conclude this story.
Which I’m not even sure I’m ready to do yet. I’m actually really enjoying letting my imagination go wild. XD (I hope you are, too. If you’re not, I’m sorry! Thank you got giving it a shot, either way.)
Where ever this next part takes me is going to surprise the both of us. Hopefully, in a good way.
Disclaimer: I do not own or make any money off of these characters or the story I’m telling. I do not own (though I wish I did) FF13, FF13-2 or FF13-3!
I want to take a moment to thank you (if anyone has) for taking time to read this. I’ve been super sick with pneumonia so doing this has helped keep my mind off of that bs. It is literally all I’ve been doing for a week or so. XD
If there are any errors, please please let me know. I tried to proofread as I posted but I’m typing this all out on my phone. (Copy and pasting it to the site called for a lot more editing than I originally expected)
Enjoy!~
The skies were different in this world. Clearer than the one he left behind. He had the majority of his memories from his old life still but, ultimately, he knew some things were missing.
His name was Snow Villiers. He was 35 years old, if you don’t count the centuries he lived before his world ended. He was still, as he had always been, a charmer. Full of life and laughter, Snow was happy to be alive.
Occasionally, he would cross paths with people he recognized but very few people ever discussed the lives they left behind.
In this life, he wasn’t some unstoppable killing machine. In this life, his new life, he was a bartender and he was good at it.
A few years after he woke in this new place, he began drifting from city to city, town to town. Trying to find people from his past. Gadot, Lebreau, Maqui and Yuj. Four people that were always a constant in his life. He could never forget them. They were his family.
Yet, even after he located them in a small village along the coast, he still felt like something was missing. Everyone did but they didn’t talk about it. At least, not out in the open.
Gadot and Lebreau had gotten married a few years ago. They had a small, yet gorgeous, ceremony on the beach in front of the bar and grill that they had opened before being reunited with Snow.
Lebreau’s cooking was legendary and the younger guys of the group were talented musicians. Between the three of them, they had the perfect setup for a popular attraction. Gadot chose to be the security and, once Lebreau became pregnant, he had to step up and do everything else as well.
Which led him to Snow. He noticed how Snow was always able to lift the spirits of anyone who entered the cozy bar. If someone came in upset, they would leave laughing. Not to mention, because of his insanely good looks and charming personality, they couldn’t get enough of him.
Gadot didn’t know how to ask Snow for help so, instead, he mentioned that he could make good tips if he would tend bar a couple nights a week. Naturally, Snow jumped at the opportunity. He was struggling financially since he arrived here. He didn’t know where he fit now that he didn’t have a world to defend.
A couple nights a week grew to four nights a week which soon turned into seven days a week. The next thing he knew, years had passed but he didn’t regret it at all. His busy work schedule kept his seemingly broken memory at rest.
Tonight was the annual ‘Oasis Celebration’. An event Lebreau and Gadot started when they first moved to the beach and built their new home. Originally, it was just a small BBQ with friends but over time it turned into a tourist event. One Snow grew to love. It was a night where anyone attending would dress up for that year’s theme, which was Snow’s idea. He grew bored of the normal, every day looks he would see.
This year’s theme was celestial. He wanted to celebrate the second chance they were given and he couldn’t think of a better way to do that than dress as glamorous celestial beings.
He and Gadot hung the last of the colored, twinkling lights around the bar as Lebreau and Yuj put the final touches around the serving area. Grilled Behemoth and other various and exotic fruit and vegetable dishes. A favorite to anyone who ever experienced it.
“Uncle Snow!” A little voice called out as he turned to be greeted by Gadot and Lebreau’s oldest daughter, Taliah. She was only four years old but she had him wrapped around her tiny fingers.
He kneeled down and opened his arms as wide as he could preparing to catch her. As she collided into his chest, he wrapped his giant arms around her and lifted her to the sky. An adorable giggle escaped her as he spun her around. Gadot stood with his arms crossed and a smile beaming from his face as he watched his best friend embrace his pride and joy.
“Oh no! You’re getting too big for this! You need to stop growing!” He playfully demanded as he brought her back down to eye level. He gently poked the tip of her nose and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“I don’t ever want to stop growing! I want to be big like you and Daddy!” She exclaimed as she wrapped her little arms around Snow’s neck and hugged him as tightly as she could.
“Well, alright. If you insist.” He replied with a laugh. “Why don’t you go see if mommy needs any help getting ready, okay?” He suggested, gently placing her on the wooden pathway they had put down earlier that day.
She hurried off to go find LeBreau, leaving a cloud of sand behind her. Gadot and Snow just laughed. Her enthusiasm was never easily met by anyone else. Aside from Snow.
“You’ve got your hands full with that one.” Snow said with a chuckle as he returned to his task.
“Don’t I know it. She reminds me so much of us when we were her age.” He smiled as he thought back to their earlier days as young boys.
Silence swept over them. Their memories were scattered but, the things that weren’t, always brought a sense of sadness to their hearts. Sure, they were lucky enough to have been reunited but there was a lot missing. Years of their lives…gone.
“Can you handle the rest of this? I need to go get ready.” Snow asked as he tossed a damp towel at his friend.
“Of course you do. You take longer than most women around here.” He laughed as the towel landed on his face. “Yeah, I got it from here.”
“I’m the one everyone sees.” He said with a giant smile. “I gotta look the part!” He turned and headed toward his house.
Snow’s place was small. As he entered, there was a small wooden bench for removing his shoes that Gadot built and Taliah painted with random colors splattered along the seat. Neatly written in black marker inside of a bright pink and blue heart painted in the center said, ‘We love you’. Clearly written by Lebreau but, nevertheless, he would smile every time he saw it.
Next to the bench was a coat rack. One he rarely ever actually used. His jackets, if he wore them at all, were often thrown on the back of the nearest chair.
To the left of the entrance was his kitchen. Minimal to say the least. He rarely ever had to use it as Lebreau would often make extra food and send Gadot and the kids over to deliver it. Which Snow never complained about. He absolutely loved seeing his niece and nephew. No matter how deep he was in his feelings that day, they always made his heart soar with happiness.
His fridge was mostly just there to keep his beer chilled and display the artwork Taliah would spend hours working on. Almost every visit meant a new picture she carefully designed for him. When he asked her why she did it so often, her answer stuck with him. ‘Even you need color in your house, Uncle Snow. Color makes people happy!’
She wasn’t wrong. Her shrine of colors did, in fact, make him happy. Kai, on the other hand, was more into helping Snow fix things. Things that weren’t usually broken before his arrival.
He never got upset, though. In his mind, it was just stuff. Stuff that could easily be replaced but the memories he created with the kids couldn’t be. Not really.
His living room was filled with handcrafted furniture Lebreau designed to fit what she thought was his taste. It really wasn’t but he didn’t mind. During her first pregnancy, it gave her something to do when her hormones made her snap at Gadot for senseless things.
Across the room hanging on the wall in front of the couch and chair was his large TV. He rarely used it and, when he did, he found himself hyper focused on the news. Especially when it would cover stories involving a young and intelligent man who designed innovative new tech. He didn’t know why but learning about the young man always made him happy. His name was Hope. Hope Estheim.
Snow didn’t have all of the gadgets that Hope and his company released but the few he did have, he took great pride in. One device being a highly developed and detail oriented camera that he usually had with him all the time. He was always taking photos of his friends to hang up on the walls of the bar.
Connected to his living room was a small but cozy deck. Displayed on the railing were pots of bright and colorful flowers that filled the area with a beautifully sweet aroma. The deck overlooked the peaceful ocean. That was where he would usually start his day. Sitting on his porch swing listening to the waves and drinking his coffee as he’d watch the locals begin their day.
His bedroom was simple. A king sized bed with a black and blue striped comforter and matching pillows. A tall dark wooden dresser at the foot of his bed with a smaller TV sitting on top of it. On either side of the bed were matching side tables with black and silver lamps and various other objects scattered over top of them.
Just off of the entrance to his bedroom was a full sized bathroom and a rather large walk in closet. The closet was almost empty aside from his barely existent wardrobe and various pairs of shoes.
The bathroom was one of his favorite places to go to relax, though. Lebreau absolutely insisted he get a luxury bathtub installed. He didn’t dare dispute this decision, she was about to give birth and was on edge all the time. He just let her go wild. This was one of the better decisions she had made. The tub was huge and had jets. It also had a giant one sided bay window that overlooked another side of the beach.
Overall, his home had become his place of solace over the years but…it was missing something. Or maybe someone.
He watched his friends as they added to their own families with kids, pets, spouses…even plants. Yet, there he was. Alone.
Snow had dated a few women over the years but he lacked the passion he felt they deserved so his relationships never lasted more than a few weeks. He often felt like the women interested in him just stuck around because of his looks. They rarely ever had anything in common with him but Lebreau was always telling him to give them a chance and that ‘opposites attract’. So, he did for a while but their lack of common sense usually turned him away after the initial honeymoon stage wore off.
As he stepped out of his shower that doubled as a luxury tub, he wrapped his towel around his waist and wiped the steam from the mirror.
Leaning against the sink, he found himself staring at his reflection. His hair was dripping down his face as he reached for a smaller towel nearby to dry it. As he tossed the now wet towel to the side, he started to feel almost bored at the idea of getting dressed up tonight but he knew he had to. Everyone expected him to participate in the event he helped organize.
He sighed heavily as he made his way to his closet in search of the outfit he was going to wear.
He decided to go simple. He had found a trench coat in a small boutique just outside of their village. The outside of it was black while the lining inside as well as the cuffs were a dark blue with splatters of yellow and white clusters that imitated stars within clusters of white.
Under the jacket he wore a black slim fit button up dress shirt, leaving the top 4 buttons undone as to show off his muscles under it. His pants were also black and fit very snug around his hips.
As he stood in front of the mirror on his wall, he took note of how nice he looked. Flashing a half smile at himself before he headed out the door.
If there was one thing Snow Villiers knew how to do it was put on a show. The sexier he looked, the better the tips. He knew that and he was ready for it.
He could see he was late to the party but he didn’t care. He stood on his front steps as he admired the guests as they arrived. He was going to have fun tonight and he didn’t care how he did. He needed to let loose. It had been months since the last time he even went out on a date.
He approached the party as confident as ever. Smiling at anyone who looked in his direction. The men called out his name as he stepped onto the wooden walkway that was leading to the main area. Women swooned and blushed if they made eye contact with him which always made him laugh inside.
As he made it to the bar, Gadot gave him a thumbs up and a nod. Snow knew that as a silent ‘lookin’ good’.
He no sooner stepped behind the bar and people were requesting drinks. As he filled the orders, he noticed a dark haired woman dressed in a blue and white dress that fit her athletic body well sitting at the bar alone with a martini in front of her. Her cleavage was on display and he definitely had no problem noticing it.
“Need a refill?” He asked as he nodded at her almost empty glass.
She smiled back at him and, without saying a word, slowly pushed her glass toward him.
“Can I get you anything else?” He asked, locking eyes with her as he casually leaned against the bar.
“I could think of a few things you could get me.” She winked as she sipped from her glass.
“Oh yeah? Name it. It’s my job to make sure all of my customers are satisfied.” He flirted back, leaning slightly closer to her.
“Come find me later, yeah?” She said quietly as she stood from her stool and walked away. Her hips moved from side to side. A view Snow couldn’t take his eyes away from. The slit of her dress revealed long, tanned gorgeous legs. He knew she was trouble but he had to find her later. His body demanded it.
