FIELD Of FLOWERS

Disclaimer: I do NOT own ANY Final Fantasy VIII characters, though I wished.

Rated: R

!WARNINGS! A classic Mary-Sue fic! If you don't like girls mysteriously finding their way into the world of Final Fantasy VIII then, I suggest you leave as quickly as possible.

YOU: I usually don't post if I don't get Feed Back. It just proves that this fiction wasn't worthy enough to be put on here. So, if you like it be sure to post a review, even if it is to tell me to UPDATE. I like being pushed.

Summary: Seventeen year-old, Lisa spends her birthday in Japan to meet with Executive Producer, Hironobu Sakaguchi. What does that have to do with her winding up outside of Balamb a week before all conflicts?

I am so high, I can hear heaven
But heaven...no, heaven don't hear me
Someone told me
Love would all save us
But, how can that be
Look what love gave us
A world full of killing
And blood spilling
That world never came
Now that the world isn't ending
It's love that I'm sending to you
It isn't the love of a hero
And that's why I fear it won't do

Chapter Two: End Of My World

I don't know how long I was sleeping for, I didn't really care at the moment, as my body twisted into all sorts of pain. I know it's not a hangover, that's for sure. I was nauseous and the smell of blood didn't help my situation. I didn't want to open my eyes, in fear that the sun's rays would blind me, and yet it pried.

C'mon Lisa, let's rationalize. What happened last night? I went back to the hotel and had some drinks with Yutaka, and then I slept. None of those things should include the appending drive to the hospital. At the thought of us being in real danger, I reached out for Yutaka, hearing the sickening sounds of bones cracking.

"Owe...OUCH!"

"You're alive."

My hand went back to my side so quickly, I thought I was going to rip it from its socket. That definitely wasn't Yutaka's voice.

"No sense in making you stay in pain, now is there? Curaga!"

Heat suddenly consumed my body, like going through fire, but it didn't hurt. An unusual feeling, but very soothing. I didn't know what to make of it, but it had worked. Any pain prior to that magical word, was gone, but that word... it wasn't real.

Not feeling threatened by the person, I opened my eyes to the scenery; greeted with wide plains of grass and wild forest- I had jumped up right away. "Where am I? Where is Yutaka?"

The guy gave me a strange look, then continued packing weird looking bottles into his satchel. "Are you lost or something?"

"Duh!"

He smirked, "I knew it, just by the way you looked. I've never seen your kind around."

Frustrated, I glared at the man. "Keep going."

"You're in Balamb Territory, just beyond those woods, Northwest. I suggest you see Dr-"

"Kadowaki," I whispered in disbelief, trying to comprehend all of this, but it made no sense. "No, this isn't real...this is bullshit."

"You have nothing on you, but that bag. I bet you don't have anything, do you?" He asked, throwing a sympathetic look towards my bag. "Nope. No potion, no drinks, and not even one defense item."

I shrugged, deadpanned. "It's not like I'll die. This is a 'dream'."

"Correction, you can die, you did die, and I just used my last Phoenix Down. If this were a dream, things would be a lot easier on me right now."

What?! "How did I-"

"Die? Well," He sighed, like an old man who was getting ready to tell a long story, "I was traveling, well okay, brooding. Turned out Cid didn't approve of my being tardy and absent all the time, so he kicked me out of the Garden. Bloody wank. Then, about twenty minutes of walking, I see something falling out of the sky..."

"That's where I come in?" I asked slowly, still trying to digest everything.

Okay, so I died in the middle of a made up video game, talking to - what I'm guessing was a chip? Though, he didn't really seem like one. He looked real, every feature. It wasn't graphic or drawn. It was just like being in a different country, perhaps a nice place in California?

Everything about this place: the smell, the grass, the breath of air, the sky, and warmth. Someone messed with Reality and Dream. The fine line separated each and it did this for a reason. I was overwhelmed...

The man placed his arm around my shoulder and directed me towards the wooded area before us. "Now if you go straight through there, you should see Balamb. Be sure to enter at the gates. They'll take you straight to the Infirmary with your current state."

I kept on staring at the woods, knowing what was waiting for me once I step inside it's eerie depths. I always got into about five battles when I went through the forest, but that was different, it was a game! And like the man said, I had nothing on me. No GF, no Items, and no magic!

"I have a few potions I can spare you if you'd like? The creatures in there aren't that bad, but what I suggest you do is run, dead on-"

"Please come with me," I choked out, surprised at my own weakness. To hell with this, I was desperate. "Please, I've never been in a battle. I've never used potions or magic..."

"Little girl, I have a long walk ahead of me."

I persisted, "Please."

With an irritated sigh, he started heading towards the woods. It took me awhile to get my legs working again, but I advanced quickly, making sure to stay close to him. "So, you gotta name or do I call you Angel?"

I raised an eyebrow at him, why on earth? Oh, that's right. I fell out of a frickin' sky!

"It's Lisa."

"Well Lisa, I'm Brandon."

Brandon? I laughed a bit, receiving a glare. The look on his face crossed as offended and beyond tired. It wasn't my intentions, I do know that it's a long trip anywhere by foot, so he'd have to be exhausted. "I just never thought that your name would be that common."

"Oh," He smiled and his face softened. "It's really not. My real name is Cibblex. I got made fun of all through out the younger grades. Brandon came from this book I was interested in and it sounded good at the time."

He drew out a sharp blade and started to decapitate branches, leaving an easy trail for me to follow. I appreciated the way he made sure I wouldn't get tangled or when he'd try to distract me from the darkness we were easing ourselves into.

"The worst you'll have to worry about are the Caterchipillars, but we're too close to the grass that they shouldn't bother us. We're almost out," he assured me and took my hand to help me over a log that he had almost tripped over.

"So, you don't remember how you got here?"

I shook my head, keeping my eyes on the ground in thought. "You're the one who said I fell from the sky."

"Come now, if you remember Kadowaki-"

"I remember her from...somewhere else that has nothing to do with where I was last."

Poor Yutaka, I hoped he was alright. What happened if he was sent here, too? If he fell from the sky just as I had and he's dead somewhere? Did we both do something to wind up here? I held onto the heavy silver that laid at my chest and rubbed it, as if it could somehow bring him back to me.

"Griever, the definition of strength, power, and courage. Symbol of the Lion. How'd you get that?"

"It was a gift," I said, a little too quickly. Great, now he's going to become suspicious.

"From Squall, I'm assuming, since he's the only cadet who has one?" He prodded, probably trying to take my mind far away from the situation.

That's right, I guess the whole gangs here now? And the idea of Squall handing me the Griever necklace had my insides jittering something fierce, like some wild chocobo trying to break though my stomach. "I guess you can say that."

"This is as far as I go. Cid will have a sodding 'go about' if he saw me even sixteen sneezes from the gate. Just keep on walking in that direction." He pointed towards the gates. "You're on the brick, you'll be fine.Nice meeting you, Lisa."

"Direction..." I trailed off at the irony of those words, watching his retreating back disappear into the forest.

Well, I guess this is it, my life has seriously took a turn in delirious land. I'd play along with it. I always wanted to come here anyways, right? Of course, I did, but did I really want to end up like this? I mean; I was hungry, thirsty, and my clothes looked like hell. My clothes?

I looked through the bag, relieved to see that there was a few outfits in there, along with socks, underwear and other accessories. My make-up bag was even in here! As much as I was happy, I was confused as to how they got here. I didn't fail to notice a black piece of paper and I started to tear at the ribbon, hoping to find all of the explanations on this here paper.

It Read:

Dearest 'Gift Teller',

I take it with your newly founded ability to 'foresee' the future, you will come in great use for Balamb. Every bit of magic lies within a strong imagination. Just remember that there is no set path and to just follow your heart.

Yours Truly,

Hironobu Sakaguchi

Yours truly? Going to truly kick your ass! So, it was Hironobu who did this. Oh, sweet Hyne. Hyne? I did not just seriously use that word and what's with this 'Gift Teller' thing? Granted, I could probably pull it off smoothly, hands down, but what would happen if I messed something up? It could change the results?

It's just great when some psycho, yet brilliant producer puts the whole 'world's balance' in your hands. Then again, I could just stay with someone and hide out? No, that wouldn't work. They won't keep me in Balamb unless I'm a student or someone of great importance. I lacked both.

'Gurrrgggllleeee...'

What? It sounded like an upset stomach and it wasn't mine. I slowly turned around, awaiting the worst. Please, don't let it be anything serious. As long as it's not...a...a...a...Caterchipillar!

I took the opportunity to take Brandon's advice on running, 'Dead On'. My legs were already aching and I had only been running for twenty seconds. The green bug slugged and slithered behind me, mewling out more gurggling sounds.

"Help... me," I gasped out through labored breaths, unable to make it any louder.

I looked behind me once more, shaking as the Caterchipillar advanced on me, quite impressively. Oh, shit. My arms were limp and I could feel myself slowing down. My legs trudged against the ground and I was heaving. I always sucked at running, possibly why I got kicked off of five different track teams.

"Hel...help...me..."

Whimpering now, I had finally reached the steel and with all of the strength I possessed, I made an effort to shake the gates. That Caterchipillar was still coming at me! I pressed my back against the cold bars and fear overtook my whole body. I was immobile to move, to breathe, or to even think! Blue lights sparked and the last thing I remembered was sudden darkness.

Seifer: So, you did a remake?

Saktaka: Yeah, but people just read the orginal. They don't care about this one.

Seifer: You're just thick-headed, love... nothing personal.

Sakata: Oh, I'm sure!

Seifer: Love you?

Saktaka: Aha... go back to Edea.
Seifer: Heartless...

Saktaka: You are, you are...
