"The night's still young. Let me make it up to you."

‘But not the war, you slimy bastard.’
With Squall’s alerting words reeling endlessly in his mind, Seifer slowly loosened the powerful grip he had around Reid’s neck. He stood up from the bed, watching in disdain as the older man coughed violently to regain the oxygen that he had lost. His emerald eyes narrowed when Reid’s head rotated in Squall’s direction.
Emotions that Seifer found too strange to interpret passed like electrical sparks between the two. He made a mental note to ask the introverted brunet about it later, even though he knew he would not receive a straight answer, or any at all, in return. After what seemed an eternity, Reid rose. He made on effort to straighten himself out, only following after his own two feet as they guided him to the door. As he neared the exit, he called out in warning:"I’ll let you go this time Almasy, but that’s only because I like you. As for you, gorgeous," he licked his chapped lips before warning, "This is far from over.""You’re in no position to be tossing out threats, old man!" Seifer snarled, readying to tackle the man if needed.Reid cackled at Seifer’s ignorance before departing. They were alone at last, as Seifer had wanted it from the beginning. No matter that their source of condemnation had finally headed off, Seifer swore that the apprehension in the air had yet to dissolve completely. As much as he understood, to some extent, the situation in which Squall had gotten into to, the sudden excess tranquility in the air began to trouble the blond. Yes, he knew that the young brunet probably needed some time to gather his thoughts, but enough was enough. Seifer wanted answers, even if he had to wrestle them out of Squall. But no matter how badly he wanted to comprehend what had taken place, the boy’s health came in first."How’re you feeling now?"‘You’ve seen me in the middle of a violation and yet you think I’m anywhere near doing cartwheels, asshole?Contrary to his disconcerting thoughts, Squall assured, "I'm fine." He set his hands on either side of his position on the bed to better balance him as he made to stand. Even though Reid was no where near him, he was still trembling as if he were.Seifer stalked to Squall’s side to help the brunet should he stumble in his steps. "Like hell you are. Here, lean on me so you don't fall." Squall pushed the provided arm aside before backing up against the wall, intensifying the gap between himself and Seifer."Don't touch me," he hissed dangerously.Golden eyebrows shot up as handsome features screwed in disbelief. "What the hell's your problem, punk?"‘I'm surprised he hasn't figured it out yet. With a deadly scowl aimed in Seifer’s direction, Squall proceeded to supply, "You're my problem, Almasy. I never asked for your attention, I never asked for your 'assistance', yet here you are, like a nightmare come to life.""Are you always this difficult with people who have just finished saving your ass?" Seifer bit back."I never asked to be 'saved.'""You're an ungrateful bitch. Do you know that?"Squall scoffed in reply and turned to leave."Don't you fucking walk away from me." Seifer grabbed Squall by the shoulder and whirled him around. He was unprepared, though, for the icy storm stirring within the brunet’s eyes. The bitter expression sent involuntary chills down Seifer’s spine as he swallowed thickly to regain his train of thought, "I wasn’t finished with you yet so just sit tight until I‘m done.""Do me a favor and shove that phony concerned crap up your ass. You’re not fooling anyone with your act so why do you bother keeping it up?" Squall returned in the calmest tone he could muster."Little bitch!" Seifer grabbed a generous amount of white clothing between both his fists as he slammed Squall’s smaller frame against the wall. "What the fuck is your problem?""What are you going to do? Hit me? Go ahead if it'll soothe your rage." Squall's voice remained impassive as did his delicate features."You’ve got a sick and twisted mind inside that pretty little head of yours.""Feel free to take any further advantage of me if you need to You’ve heard firsthand how great I am. Why not give me a test drive?"Green eyes widened, the blond's next words lost upon hearing the youth's unexpected remark. Seifer alleviated his hold on the brunet, but didn't bother to widen the minor gap between them. Squall's head was thrown to the side, a minor attempt to keep the blond's image from springing into his line of vision."Squall, look I'm--"Squall was quick to interrupt Seifer's stumbling apology, "Your pity is the last thing I need right now Almasy, so save it.""Fine, I won't say it, but I am." Seifer didn't want their meeting to end like so, with a malevolent grudge hanging from them both. Squall's expression remained blank, as did his once raving stormy eyes. He had not moved an inch; if he was not comfortable with he blond's closeness, he was excellent at keeping it hidden. After watching the emotionless brunet for uncountable minutes, Seifer played around with the possibility of asking the brunet a question that had fixed itself onto him since he had first staggered on them. He hoped that Squall would not take it the wrong way, as his curiosity ran deeper than did his newly found feelings for the boy at the moment."What were you two doing in a secluded room?" Seifer inwardly cursed at his verbalization of the question, but he continued to support it nonetheless when Squall stayed quiet, "I asked you a question.""I believe that what you walked in on should answer your question."Brushing the brunet's impulsive answer aside, Seifer asked anew, "How well do you know that man?""It doesn't matter.""The hell it doesn't! If I hadn't been there at the time that I was, you could have been--""I said that it doesn't matter!" Putting a hand to his forehead, Squall spoke in a softer voice, "It's not important so why do you insist that it is? This doesn't concern you.""Have you ever stopped to think for one second that maybe it does? That maybe I do care the least bit for you? Not every individual will go out their way to do so." Seifer all but yelled.'Why can't he just... why does he have to make things so difficult...'With a bountiful of questions swirling around the mess in his mind, Squall slowly slid down along the wall, raising his knees once fully seated on the ground. He kept his sight on the floor as he reminded himself how to breathe deeply. The day had been going well, or at least, according to plan. Where did the blond come from and for what? Squall couldn't see why the man had to be right behind him, breathing down his neck over every detail in his life. Did he feel it his mission to "save" him for the sole reason that he witnessed a misfortune?'That is the only reason. If he hadn't seen that creep with me in bed, I bet he could care less. Damn playboy. Can't get satisfied with all the women that he has to come and seek me out.'Seifer resisted slapping himself for his stupidity. His heart threatened to sink the moment the brunet dropped onto the floor. What he couldn't comprehend was why this boy was taking his concernment so hard. Surely his parents hasseled him as much as he was currently doing, so this shouldn't be anything new.'His parents. Hah... Wonder if they know that their gorgeous son was out here tonight giving his body up to some old ass bastard... and I don't think I'll be too happy to know if this has happened more than once. But like he said, he doesn't want me to care. So what the hell does he want me to do? Forget? Yeah right, as if--'He didn't like the possible answers that were coming up, but Seifer knew that he couldn't harass the brunet forever. He could let it rest for now, and bring the topic up sometime in the near future, and hopefully Squall would not have an outburst similar to the one he just had.
"Let’s forget about all this."Squall didn’t bother to lift his head in order to test the blond’s sincerity on his statement. To a certain extent, the drastic change in issue made him question Seifer's sanity even more, but what the blond was asking him to do was damn near impossible.‘And if I can’t?’"You’ll just have to try hard enough."Squall’s eyes widened at having heard an answer to his private thoughts. He looked up to find Seifer crouched before him on one knee, arms crossed on his lap. A hand reached out to gently brush aside stray chocolate bangs for a better look at a pair of misty grey orbs. "I can help you, if you let me." Squall kept his eyes downward, not trusting himself to look elsewhere.Goosebumps rode quietly through Squall’s skin at having been so close to the obnoxious blond. He didn’t like the foreign feelings that were welling up from deep inside, but he didn’t have the energy to stop them from cruising further. Why did this man have to enter his life now of all times? What did he hope to accomplish?‘Absolutely nothing. This prick is only looking for a quick lay. That’s it. I’m nothing but another piece of ass to this bastard.’"How about it?" the blond continued in a relentless whisper, his voice growing huskier with every word spoken, "I do care about you, how much, I don’t know, but I’m willing to find out and show you if you give me a chance."A hand appears in Squall’s line of sight, its fingers wriggling in open invitation to grab hold of it. Amusing himself with repeated curses about how confusing and idiotic the blond can be, Squall took the offered hand."I’m Seifer, by the way," the tall blond began as soon as Squall was on his feet, intent on keeping his promise, "and you are?"His sight locked on the joining of their hands, Squall believed that Seifer had finally snapped, but then he recalled the blond’s request. Feeling grateful that the night’s events were to be put past them, Squall replied with a forceful, "None of your business." He quickly released Seifer’s hands as he sauntered for the door.---
Even after the long minutes that followed the unusual line of circumstances, Seifer was still grinning like an idiot. He shrugged off the curious stares aimed at him from the crowds that he had passed on his way to-- well, he didn't know precisely where he was headed as he unconsciously allowed his legs the privilege to roam around the extravagant house. His mind felt as if it were on a natural high, floating, up there near that imaginary place called "heaven". Squall hadn't exactly concede towards any form of friendship between the two, but he didn't reject the idea either. That thought alone caused Seifer's grin to widen as he deliberated over the many of possibilities that he might use to win the moody brunet over. It wouldn't be an easy fight; that he was sure of, but now that he had gone far enough, he was willing to go all the way.Any way that it would lead."Seifer Almasy! There you are!"Said blond rotated in place, noting that it was his mother calling after him. He sent her small wave to acknowledge her presence as she was nearing him. "Where have you been? Chasing after a nice young fellow, I hope."‘You don't know how dead-on you are, Ma.’"Maybe, maybe not," Seifer said with a laugh, intent on keeping his mother guessing until she could get a good look at Squall. Naturally, he needed the brunet on his side before they could confront his mother and inform her that the brunet did not look young from solely genetics."And that's Seifer speak for 'yes'. Tell me, have I seen him around?""I've no idea what you're talking about, Mother.""Ah, I see how it is. Don't play this game for too long, Seifer. You know I'll find you what you're hiding from me soon enough.""I'm not hiding anything from you, Ma." It wasn't an entire lie. It wasn't as if he and Squall were fooling around behind his mother's back for the past couple of months. How he wished the opposite, though. "Were you looking for me for an update on my love life or did you need someone to hang for a while?""That's right! I almost forgot! Your father and I are staying for a while longer, don't ask why because I won't tell you." She winked at Seifer before continuing, "A friend of ours offered to take us home. You know the Reid's, honey, don't you?"Seifer forced himself not to cringe upon hearing that name. "Yeah…""Well, because of their kind gesture, Alexander decided that you could take the car home. He said something about how you were most likely bored without any 'action'... I swear, that man will never stop.""That's great, Mom." An idea flashed through Seifer's thoughts. He had to stop the grin from overtaking his lips as he finished with an, ‘absolutely perfect."Molly smiled a knowing smile. "Don't stay up too late now. I want the whole family together for breakfast tomorrow morning.""I'll remember that." He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Go and have fun. Don't worry about me.""I won't," she said with a laugh.Seifer waited until she was out of sight before setting off once more to track down a certain brunet.---
After stumbling into yet another long and empty hall, Seifer was ready to throw in the towel and ride himself home. Those brief notions were washed away when Squall rounded the corner on the other side of the passageway. A fleeting glint of surprise flickered through grey-blue eyes before they settled back to their usual stony persona."Finally found your ass!" Seifer stopped in front of the apathetic brunet, feigning exhaustion. "You're a difficult bastard to track down, do you know that?"Squall raised an eyebrow, not amused. Placing a hand on one hip, he supplied somberly, "I never asked for you to come after me.""‘Course you didn't." Rising to his full height, Seifer looked down at Squall's smaller frame, his eyes zoning in on the protruding hip. "Feeling better?"A frown was quick to mar the brunet's delicate features. "Thought you said we were going to ‘forget?’""Right. Just testing you." Squall rolled his eyes as Seifer gave out a nervous chuckle. "Where're you headed now?"Squall blinked at the tall blond, expressive grey eyes looking Seifer up and down at his rapid change in subject. "Home."Seeing an open opportunity, Seifer offered, "Well in that case, allow me to give you a ride.""I don't think so." Feeling that enough was said, Squall attempted to go around the blond's much larger build, but Seifer swiftly sidestepped him."Why not?" he persisted. The brunet nibbled on his lower lip as he dug for an excuse to evade the obvious, but tempting offer. "It’s late."While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
