Chapter 2

Inner Isolation: Part II

The pilot could already sense that something was amiss inside the house and wondered curiously about it. It wasn’t until Vincent burst through the front door and out onto the porch that Cid realize his anger was directed at him. All he could do was freeze as Vincent walked straight at him. His mind was telling him that this was Vincent and that he would not hurt him but his body still felt compelled to run.
“What the fuck were you thinking?” Vincent’s scream pierced the blonde’s heart and put a strange kind of fear there too.
“Vin…” Cid barely squeaked out as the gunner grabbed him by the arm.
“Get the fuck in the house.” But this time there was a sadness in his voice that nearly crushed the aviator. Cid obeyed and walked inside , jumping as the door was slammed.
“Vin please. What is going on?” his voice pleaded with his angry lover.
“Of all the things I have heard since I met you this one really is ludicrous Cid Highwind. Give me one good reason to why I shouldn’t knock the shit out of you for going to visit that fucking bitch!” Cid stiffened at Vincent’s language and knew that if he didn’t play his cards right his lover might just follow through with his threat.
“Vincent I can only guess at how you must feel now and I know you would not hurt me. There are no words to explain how much I love you and how I never wanted to hurt you but I did what I did because I had to. I needed it.” Quickly Vincent spun to face away from the pilot clenching his fists in absolute rage. How could Cid have done such a thing and just admit it like it was all okay.
“Cid.” Vincent’s voice was so small that Cid had to strain.
“Get out.” The blonde froze in utter trepidation. Unclenching his hands Vincent slowly turned to face the horror stuck man.
“Listen closely. I still love you very much but I am dangerously close to violence right now and can longer stand your presence here. You are going to leave now and I will call you when I have calmed down enough. I know I am being bad tempered and cruel even but I am having a very hard time trying to get past this betrayal.” There was such emotion in his lover’s voice that it stopped Cid’s heart. Was seeing Shera worth the risk of losing Vincent forever? As Cid walked out of the house everything that made him who he was shattered leaving an empty void. Dark shadows passed through his eyes as he wished that Shera had killed him.

Hours later Vincent was still in the kitchen and managed to destroy everything in reach. It infuriated him how Cid stood there and calmly admitted his guilt but deep down he was afraid, though he would never admit it. He wondered now if Cid hated him but he could not allow himself to follow those thoughts. He had to find the bitch before she found Cid and he, being a stupid ass kicked him right out the door and straight into her hands. Ebony locks fell across him face as he grabbed Death Penalty. Suddenly Cloud came barging through the door and nearly walked Vincent down getting right in his face.
“What did you do? Where is Cid?” The gunman could not bring himself to look the swordsman in the eyes.
“He is gone. I kicked him out but I’m going to go find him now.” Cloud grabbed Vincent by the cape.
“Well you better fucking hope that he is alive when we find him because if he is not so help me Vincent…” Crimson eyes became dangerous as he cut Cloud off.
“Let go of me now. He hasn’t been gone that long so he will be fine.
“Shera’s has already been here. I just talked with a man that watched her murder his best friend because he couldn’t tell her where Cid was. Which means that she knows he not here because the other man told her that he left. I hope for your sake that you know where he went.” Cloud released Vincent only because he could see the shame and fear in his eyes.
“Cloud I do not know where Cid went but I’m not wasting anymore time. Its time for me to finish what I started. The swordsman looked curious and Vincent answered his unspoken question.
“I am going to rip her fucking heart out.”
