Lazily stretching my hand out from beneath the duvet and groaning from the constant noise, I forcefully bashed the bleeping alarm clock with my clenched fist, the feeling of annoyance taking over as I dragged my face away from the comfort of the pillow. As the warm covers slipped off from over my head, I stared at the flashing digits; rubbing at my blurry eyes in an attempt to focus on the display. Turning my attention towards the window, the drawn curtains still kept the room in darkness; blocking out the brightness from outside and influencing my reluctance to move.
…So much for waking up early.
Sinking drowsily back beneath the quilt, I didn’t seem to be the only one not making an effort. There was also inactivity from his side of the bed. Not that I’m surprised. His contribution to last night’s activities was rather…impressive. Sniggering in remembrance, I ran my hand eagerly underneath the uneven sheets, wanting to quickly recap on proceedings before we got dressed.
I wasted no time in pulling the bulky covers back, now highly aroused by the thought. Except the bed was… empty?
Pushing myself up from the mattress, I looked down to the floor, noticing that his discarded uniform had also gone. I rolled my eyes, leaning over my side of the bed to retrieve my neglected phone from the carpet. Accessing the screen, a short e-mail message was waiting in my inbox- received over three hours ago. 'Im needed' was all the message specified, no explanation or apology mentioned in the text.
“Great.” I sighed, collapsing back against the pillow and tossing the phone angrily across the room - feeling exceptionally disappointed by his unanticipated departure. I have four highly trained members of the investigation sector of general affairs and it seems that only one of them can fucking well do their job. Tseng’s attention was supposed to be allocated to me today, not spent picking up the pieces for his hopeless associates who obviously can‘t do anything right for themselves!
…I should have seen this coming.
One thing’s for certain. If those documents aren’t on my desk by the time I arrive, I’m going to be severely pissed off!
***
“Good morning, President Shinra.” My secretary beamed warmly, rising swiftly from her seat as I entered the office and attempted to smooth down the creases from her skirt. I nodded to her out of courtesy, halting with annoyance by her desk.
“I’m expecting something of importance. I trust that it’s already been delivered?” I asked bluntly, uninterested in any further drudgery she’d have previously arranged without consulting me first. I had enough to worry about as it was. She bit her lip nervously, looking down to my morning schedule as she picked it up from the desk. Remaining silent, she handed it to me, instinctively wincing in preparation for my angered outburst as I reached to retrieve it from her shaking grasp.
Her obvious unease was answer enough, the documents evidently hadn’t arrived. …That’s all I fucking need.
Seizing the timetable, I didn‘t even bother to look at it, shoving it under my arm as I turned furiously towards the stairs.
“Shall I, erm-” She stuttered before losing her nerve and retracted her outstretched arm. Exhaling loudly, I stared back to her over my shoulder, attempting to keep my irritated tone vaguely resembling something calm.
“Do something about it?” I groaned sarcastically, finishing off her sentence and glaring at her vacant expression when silence was all I received. That would be helpful, but it clearly wasn’t your brain that got you this job.
“I need to know where the Turks are and when they are due back in the building. Call the main reception desk and find out their current location.” I snarled, my heightened volume causing her to unwillingly flinch as she slowly backed away.
“O-of course!” She edgily affirmed, reaching for the telephone as she regained her seat and began dialing the required lines. Growling under my breath, I left her to it, stomping the rest of the way up the stairs to my office.
The reason I’m given for this incompetence better be an adequate one!
***
“Your coffee, sir.” My secretary smiled tensely, setting the steaming mug down against the desk after brushing my chaotic pile of paperwork aside. Turning to her, I narrowed my eyes in response. I wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries, and it would take more than a shot of caffeine to heighten my mood.
“Well?” I demanded, folding my arms over my chest as I leaned back in my chair, watching her dense expression suddenly change as she miraculously remembered my earlier request.
“Oh-oh, Heidegger said that they’ve been in touch and that they are on their way back now.” She giggled dimly, gesturing towards the flashing phone on my desk. “He’s on line two if you wish to speak with him.”
“He is? Oh, how delightful” I mocked dryly, idly taking hold of the handset as I relieved it from the base. Bringing it closer to my ear, I waited a few seconds until Heidegger started to speak. Half way through his mindless gibberish, I got bored; deliberately slamming the phone down to cut him off and startling my airhead secretary in the process. She released a sudden squeal as the plastic casing collided, covering her mouth in surprise.
I scowled at her with non-amusement.
She should know better than to burden me with needless interference, and engaging in irrelevant conversation with Heidegger, of all people, was the last thing I needed right now. I couldn’t care less about his pathetic excuses. I ask him to oversee one simple thing for me, and now the whole development proposal has to be put on hold because he couldn’t obtain some straightforward blueprints that should have been mine in the first place. God help him if the Turks come back empty handed.
“And why are you still here?” I frowned, returning my sight to my secretary’s face as my hand reached for the coffee cup, fingers gripping the handle as I slid it across the desk. She gasped in terror, lowering her head respectfully before quickly dashing towards the stairs. Sighing heavily on her departure, I brought the mug to my lips, closing my eyes as the hot liquid entered my mouth.
Remember, not everyone is mentally retarded. There are some people in this company who can actually do their job. Taking a significant sip, my eyelids suddenly widened, gagging as I spat the coffee back into the cup.
Ugh, She forgot the fucking sugar!
***
“You did remember to add the sugar this time?” I droned wryly, picking up the fresh mug from the desk and skeptically inspected the contents. My secretary smiled shyly in reply, her cheeks flushing slightly as she turned her face away so I wouldn’t notice her embarrassment.
“I did, but I don’t think you need it. You’re sweet enough already.”
I raised an eyebrow at her comment, distancing the cup from my open mouth. Sweet? I’ve been referred to as many things before… but I can‘t say that ‘sweet’ was ever one of them. I don’t know whether I should be flattered or offended.
She continued to blush at my bemused reaction, avoiding my eyes by quickly lowering her gaze to the floor. I lowered my sights also, catching a glimpse of her ample chest, clearly visible from beneath her unbuttoned blouse. Obviously, for my benefit; and her generous cleavage would normally be a welcoming sight - if I wasn’t so distracted by this constant string of stupidity. Why were they taking so long?
“Are they back yet?” I requested sternly, bringing the cup back to my lips as I watched her nervous fingers subconsciously play with her hair. She looked up to me dreamily, standing up straight and hiding her hands behind her back to appear somewhat more professional when she eventually replied.
“Not yet, sir. But, I have been assured that they won’t be much longer. They’ll probably be here within the hour.”
“Fine. Get Reeve on the phone.” I ordered as I discarded the near empty mug, shoving it out of the way to the end of the desk. At least he‘ll be prepared for when they do finally arrive…and the day might not be a complete waste after all.
She nodded in agreement, progressing keenly towards the office exit to comply with my command. Watching her eager descent down the stairs, I slyly called her back, smirking slightly as she apprehensively turned around.
She’d soon see how ‘sweet’ I can be.
“Not that I have a problem with what you’re wearing.” I smiled darkly, glancing down to her substantial breasts straining against her shirt as she stood mesmerized at the top of the staircase. I then brought my sight to her shimmering eyes, noticing her blushing cheeks glowing fiercely after her acknowledgement of my previous line of sight.
“But you have such a lovely face. It’s just a shame it’s not what I look at when I talk to you. Perhaps try wearing something more appropriate for the office when you come in tomorrow. I’ll also have another coffee when you‘re ready, if that‘s not too much to ask?”
***
It wasn’t too long before my request was granted and Reeve’s extension was waiting on hold. Picking up the flashing phone from the cradle, I brought it to my ear, leaning the receiver against my shoulder as I reclined lazily back in my chair.
“Reeve… I understand that you’re currently tied up with other duties, which I’ve previously stated take priority at this moment in time, but I’ll soon have something in my possession that may be of interest to you.”
“Oh?” Reeve enquiry curiously, evidently fascinated by my intriguing appeal and eagerly began asking questions. “In that case, sir, how may I be of assistance?”
I smiled against the mouthpiece, casually folding my leg over the top of the other to make myself more comfortable as I slouched in my seat. “I require your architectural eye. My sources recently came across the export of some invaluable blueprints. I want you to study them. Use what you can and make the necessary modifications based on the company’s needs. I‘m sure with your extensive skills and enthusiasm that the end result will be nothing more than exceptional.”
“Well, I’ll certainly look them over and give you my opinion, sir. Where were they acquired from, exactly?” Reeve asked excitedly, waiting for my reply as I absent-mindedly glanced to the monitors surrounding my desk. From the exterior security footage I had up on display, the Turks had finally made an appearance.
“Mr. President?” Reeve repeated with concern, wondering why the line had suddenly gone quiet and his question left unanswered. Clearing my throat, I turned my chair away from the screen, ignoring the distraction to get back to the task at hand.
“They attained a vast amount of attention at auction some months ago. Once people learned of my interest in them, they dramatically increased in price - to far more than I was willing to pay. When the company withdrew from the sale, they were sold off to the next highest bidder, who obviously had more money than sense to bid against me.”
“And this bidder was quite happy to just…hand them over to you?” Reeve asked suspiciously, causing my lips to curl in amusement by the way he phrased his sentence.
“Not quite. We did attempt to persuade him to partake in a trade; those blueprints, for his ability to breathe. That didn‘t go down well, so as you can imagine, things for him got a little unpleasant.”
It was now Reeve’s turn to go quiet, leaving an extended pause before the subject was swiftly changed. “So, sir…when would you like me to start working on them?”
“Well, later on this afternoon would be appropriate. I’m giving you prior notice now so you can allocate some additional time to this project. It might even be worthwhile to liaise with Scarlet on the matter. Adding a bit of armoured artillery may make for an interesting development, but I’ll let you decide on that after your initial assessment. I’ll leave it in your capable hands and we’ll revise the progress tomorrow.”
Reeve sniggered slightly, trying to hide the unintentional merriment from his voice as he openly spoke his mind. “Liaise with lady Kya-ha-ha? Well, I‘ll consider it, but you know what she’s like. She has the charming tendency of taking over and stealing the credit for herself. I‘d like to conduct the appropriate analysis before I let that happen. Leave it with me, sir. I‘ll have my evaluation ready for you in the morning.”
“Excellent.” I smirked, dropping the phone back to the cradle and returning my sight to the monitors. Studying the flickering footage, I leaned in closer, enhancing the resolution for an improved inspection, hoping to catch sight of my prize.
I was left disappointed. All I could make out was Rude. From what I could see, his fist was pre-occupied with vandalising the vending machine. Reno was taking advantage of the expelling appliance, overloading candy into his trouser pockets, not realizing that they were both being filmed. There was no sign of the blueprints, or of Tseng and I found myself kneading my forehead, wishing away the imminent headache which would soon take charge of my skull. Morons… I’m surrounded by them!
Where ever he’s gone, he better be bringing me good news.
***
An hour had passed since my conversation with Reeve and I was swamped with additional paperwork, trying to allocate further funds to our intended proposal when I had other, more pressing things on my mind. I also hadn’t received word from Heidegger on the operation front. I had no idea of how it had gone. His lack of communication could only mean one thing. That the mission’s outcome hadn’t been victorious and he was too spineless to confess that to my face.
Attracting my attention, I glared down at the blinking intercom on my desk, thrusting my finger over the switch. “Finally decided to get off his fat backside, eh? Put him through.”
My secretary hesitated, trying her best not to intensify my annoyance as she nervously spluttered out a reply. “I-I’m so sorry, sir. It’s not Heidegger. But there is a Turk here to see you. I’ll just tell him that you‘re unavailable and you won‘t be disturbed again-”
I paused, glancing down towards my illuminated cell-phone screen as I picked it up from the desk, the message icon stating ‘sent‘. “No, that won’t be necessary.” I smiled slyly, tucking the phone from view into my jacket pocket. “I‘ll make an exception for him. Send him through.”
Releasing my finger from the console, I waited, folding my arms over my chest when I caught sight of him casually approach from the stairs.
“So, you got my message then? I trust that you’ve been successful. I’d hate to be in your shoes if you haven’t.” I requested sternly, watching as he advanced across the office and stood to attention by my desk, nodding in response to my question.
“And the schematics?” I inquired curiously, slightly raising my eyebrows with interest.
“They’ve been delivered to the Urban development department as requested.” Tseng promptly advised, placing his hands behind his back as he awaited further instructions.
“Good.” I smirked, turning slightly in my chair “I suppose all that’s left to discuss now is the overtime that’s owed. We can’t have you neglecting your responsibilities now, can we? Considering, I don‘t recall dismissing you from duty this morning.”
Tseng stayed silent, his expression impassive as I unfolded my arms to rest my elbow against the desk, pressing my face to my fist. “Look, I’m offering you the opportunity this evening to compensate for departing without warning last night. I do hope you are able to grace this occasion with your presence, Tseng. I‘ve got a lot of pent-up frustration to kill.”
“I’ll see what I can do.” Tseng smiled subtly, his dark eyes hooded as I reclined back in my seat and observed him.
“Just don‘t disappoint me. I’ve had enough excuses today.” I warned, dismissing him carelessly with a flick of my hand as I returned my attention to the abundance of paperwork littering the desk. Tseng nodded respectfully, glancing to me deviously as he turned to the stairs.
“You know that I won’t.”
***
Slouching back with my legs slightly parted, I brought the whiskey glass to my lips, smirking as I savoured the strong aftertaste and discarded the glass by the bed. It had been a long day and I was feeling lethargic, enjoying a drink as I tried to unwind. With Tseng’s help, I was getting there…slowly.
His hand had slipped past my loosened waistband, administering soothing strokes as I lay back against his chest, appreciating his influential caress. He hadn’t been here that long, but seemed more than willing to assist with my selfish request; supporting my weight from behind as his fingers actively explored. It wasn’t often I allowed people as much access as this, to put their hands where ever they pleased. Right now, I was prepared to overlook that fact. I was quite comfortable in this position, permitting his temporary control. The only thing I needed to do was relax while he endured the effort- asking for nothing in return. Except the opportunity to please, which he was doing right now, so why decline the offer?
Closing my eyes with a satisfied sigh, I shifted my hips slowly, thrusting myself firmly into his hand. To his annoyance, my clothing appeared to be restricting his access, limiting any further progress. Lifting myself up slightly from the mattress, my belt buckle rattled in time to his wrist as I passed my trousers over my legs, kicking them off to the floor. I wanted to see his hand at work, view the action without an obstruction and widened my thighs further to observe. I was all for self-gratification, but I did get a kick out of watching someone else take charge and dictate to them what I wanted. So far, though, I hadn’t needed to intervene. He was managing rather well by himself.
Shrugging off my lengthy white coat and pulling the dark sweater over my head, I tossed them aside to accompany my trousers. I was now naked, lying back against a fully clothed Tseng. His solid grip served perfectly, expertly twisting, erratically jerking, manipulating the base all the way to the tip, Ahh~ which he ensured wasn‘t being ignored. I could feel the material of his jacket brushing against my stomach as he maneuvered his fist, and his long hair tickling my shoulders as he leaned forward and watched from behind.
Hmm~ “You’re good at this.” I teased, urging myself further within his grip and groaning as he squeezed to oblige my advance. Stopping his hand mid movement, I looked back to him, smiling at his confusion.
“This is very nice, Tseng, but I think we should get down to business… before we both get too comfortable.”
“If that‘s what you want.” Tseng smiled, removing his soothing fingers to bring them up to my face and gently turning my head, he moved in keenly for my lips. Leaning into me, my mouth accepted his dedicated tongue, welcoming its forceful affection. My hands gripped tightly to his suit lapel as he lowered me, positioning me down on my back. He detached my fingers from the material, guiding my arms around his neck; enabling him to successfully take off his jacket while we continued to passionately kiss. Eagerly climbing above, his bulging trousers purposely grinded against me, hips instinctively thrusting; a primal desire he couldn’t control and I assisted by returning the gesture. He hastily released his trousers, reaching down to unfasten the belt and unleash his desire from the confines. I wouldn’t allow him to break free from my lips, dragging his jaw back when he tried to withdraw; too absorbed to relinquish the contact. I could now feel his ridged manhood jabbing excitedly into my inner thigh, moving closer, aligning to eventually enter. I reluctantly shoved his face away, positioning and lifting my legs. He was now reaching over to the bedside table, feeling around for the gel container I’d purposely left on view by the lamp. Preparing us both for the upcoming act, I wrapped my legs around him, urgently dragging him closer.
“Remember, Tseng… don‘t disappoint me!”
***
Noisily grunting beneath him, my legs impulsively widened, attempting to ease my glorious suffering but only making it worse. The frustration was building, driving me crazy, making me heavily pant. I’d been holding my breath for so long, focusing solely on that incredible sensation as he aggravated my contracting walls. I was so fucking close that I couldn’t stand it, couldn’t take it, screaming out my overwhelming distress. It was torture, experiencing this escalating torment, the tension becoming more intense with every laboured breath. I didn’t want it to stop…it just wasn’t enough, as my head thrashed around on the bed. Extending my knees and pressing my feet to his chest, I abruptly shoved him away to reposition, flipping anxiously on to my front. Tseng crawled after me, lowering his body, resuming his place behind. Clutching my hips to lift me, abusing my entry as he forced his way in - his pace was faster, his intrusions deeper and I welcomed this aggressive approach. I loved the contact his pelvis made. The way it was colliding, pushing me further forwards with every thrust. His hands were roaming, caressing my abs and working their way down to my thighs. I was whimpering now, my manhood aching, desperate for attention, feeling so exquisite in my energetic hand. My lower body was shaking, causing every muscle to tense. The pent-up excitement eventually expelled, flying from my frantic fingers as I brought myself to climax. I shrieked my sudden appreciation, the feeling of exhilaration so extreme. I went with it, trying to savour it for as long as I could, unable to control my vocal reaction when the feeling finally disappointedly finished.
Hanging my head as I caught my breath, I tried to keep my eyes open, fighting against them as they attempted to close when I collapsed in a heap on the bed. My limbs were tingling, my sweat soaked body drained. As I lay there, my fingers released the covers I was subconsciously grasping, smoothing the material back over the mattress. I could feel the heat radiate from Tseng’s skin as he settled beside me, hear him exhale as his rapid breathing began to calm.
“Don’t get too comfortable, Tseng.” I smiled slyly, turning to look over my shoulder. “I haven’t finished with you yet.”
***
I allowed my tired eyes to open, attempting to stretch out my numbing limbs as I lay somewhat restricted on my back. Glancing down, I could see Tseng’s tranquil face contently nestled against my throat, his arm loosely encircling my waist, his toned body pinning me in place. Ugh, we must have fallen asleep like this, huddled together, too tired to care at the time. Except now, I‘d lost all feeling in my legs.
Reaching my free hand across the mattress and gripping hold of the sheets, I managed to slightly drag myself out from beneath him. My less that subtle separation attempt didn’t go unnoticed, rousing Tseng from his sleep as I tried to pull away. With a groan, his arm instinctively tightened around me, bringing me closer and delaying my retreat, not wanting our close contact to break. I sighed, defeated, unable to successfully wriggle free without physically shoving him aside.
Normally, I would have done - but normally, I wasn’t so fucking exhausted. What time was it, anyway? Shifting, I managed to somehow flex my supporting arm from under his neck, trying to revive my dead fingers as I glanced at the watch on my wrist.
Affection wasn’t something I usually indulged, even during times of intimacy it was kept to a minimum and ultimately used as a tool to persuade. Except, despite our extreme closeness and my obvious lack of movement, I was actually rather at ease in this awkward position we shared - actually enjoying the warmth of his breath on my chest and the feel of his hair as my hand idly stroked through the strands. We stayed like that for the moment, lying there in silence, cuddled up in the dark. Not that I had a choice in the matter.
Rubbing my eyes, I found myself staring up at the ceiling, stifling an escaping yawn and willing my heavy eyelids to close. Just as I was about to nod off again, teeth gently began to bite at my skin, successfully acquiring my surprised attention as I glanced down to the mark he‘d just made.
“Oh, feeling neglected are we?” I sniggered with amusement, gaining a consenting smile as my hand reached between his parted legs, awakening the developing arousal. “Let me do something about that.”
It wasn’t long before our lips were locked and my new found alertness took control. Due to his suggestive actions, I wasn’t tired anymore; my external interests had been evoked. My sex-drive was always more demanding in the mornings. I just couldn’t help myself.
I stopped suddenly, casting aside the hindering sheets and lifting my head up to listen. I think Tseng heard it too, slipping his fingers out from my hair and concentrating in the darkness. The noise started again. A constant whiny pitch, blaring unbearably and causing Tseng concern as his eyes darted around the room. Is that the…doorbell? Who in the hell is disturbing me at this ridiculous hour and do they have a death wish?
Staggering from the bed, I headed towards the window, yanking the hanging curtain back. I glared down to the front gate, noticing a familiar black car parked on the drive. A tall man was leaning against the bonnet; carelessly flicking the ash from his cigarette as he took another leisurely drag. The tell-tale dark glasses and the gleam from his forehead confirmed his identity as Rude. Fucking marvellous! What’s he doing here? Argh, and I can’t concentrate with this persistent racket. Whichever one of those bastard’s has their finger lodged on the buzzer, I’m going fucking blow their hand off with my gun!
“Rufus?” Tseng questioned with confusion, pushing himself up from the bed. I turned to him, scowling, reaching for my robe from the chair.
“Stay there. I’ll get rid of them.” I snarled, wrapping the material around myself and tying a knot in the belt. Tseng tried to get up, but I ordered him to stay, anxious about our predicament. The last thing I needed was one of them to catch us at it like this. Our state of undress was compromising enough; it would be too risky to have him be seen.
Ugh…Can’t I just enjoy a morning fuck in peace? That’s twice these imbeciles have ruined it for me!
Slamming the door behind me, I marched barefoot down the corridor, halting on the first floor landing of the foyer. I’d caught sight of them, wandering curiously around the large entrance hall, calling out my name as they searched. The security guards must have permitted them entry and allowed their access inside. Stay calm, Rufus… just see what they want.
“What do I owe to this absurdly early intrusion?” I droned with uninterest, my tone noticeably cynical as I shouted down to them from the top of the stairs.
“Well?” I urged, leaning forwards to rest my folded arms against the handrail, glaring to the lower level as the two of them stood by the door. Expecting at least a semi plausible justification for their unexpected disruption, Elena looked up with uncertainty, shuffling closer after hearing my unamused response. Reno coughed slightly behind his fist, delving his hands into his trouser pockets before grinning stupidly as he delivered their feeble excuse.
“We’re here for Tseng, he around?”
I rolled my eyes, pushing myself up from the banister. “He is, but as I advised your superior, he’s currently unavailable due to other commitments. So whatever plans Heidegger had for him this morning, he can forget them. Tseng’s schedule is occupied. If that pretentious prick has a problem with that, he can personally take it up with me. Now, if you don’t mind, some of us don‘t appreciate being rudely disturbed at five in the fucking morning!”
Reno raised an eyebrow, glancing to a petrified Elena before returning his sight to me. He lazily shrugged his shoulders. “Hey, I know how you feel, boss. We don’t wanna be up at this time any more than you do. We’re just following orders.”
Elena nodded, hiding her hands shyly behind her back. “Yeah, Heidegger said you would be ok with it, because we kind of need Tseng’s help for this one. He told us to come straight here. It’s where Tseng’s supposed to meet us.”
I couldn’t help the irritation I displayed as I let out an angered sigh, speaking through gritted teeth. “Did he now? Well, as it happens, I’m not ok with it. Are you all so incompetent that the three of you can‘t function as a team without him? What do I pay you for? If you want to obey orders so badly, how about following these. I’ll sum them up for you in two simple words: Get. Out!”
“It’s alright.” Tseng interrupted, placing his hand over my shoulder after suddenly appearing from behind. He stood next to me, appearance immaculate and his manner completely composed.
Reno rubbed at the back of his neck in confusion, motioning towards the door. “Err…we going, or what?”
Tseng nodded, eyes shifting to me before removing his hand and walking towards the stairs. I stuck my arm out in front of him, prohibiting his path as he tried to leave.
“You knew about this?” I asked with annoyance, gesturing to his awaiting associates now hovering eagerly by the exit. Tseng remained silent, declining to comment, and I found myself asking again. His lack of dialogue corroborated the question, that and the fact he couldn’t look at me, instead favouring the wall. I growled as I lowered my arm, scowling down to Reno and Elena whilst dangerously narrowing my eyes. “Didn‘t you just hear what I said?!”
They exchanged bemused glances, nodding in agreement as Tseng politely rephrased my request, asking them to wait outside. Elena retreated eagerly, turning and leading the way. Reno was just as keen leave. Walking backwards, he accidentally knocked over a freestanding vase; sprinting out of the door as it fell to the floor and gradually rolled out of view.
Once they were out of earshot, Tseng turned to me, his expression wiped of emotion. “I knew, but my attendance wasn’t definite. There was also the chance that I wouldn’t be needed, but it’s apparent now that I am. I will make it up to you.” Tseng assured as he turned to descend the stairs to the ground floor, promptly adjusting his tie.
“Isn’t that what you’re supposed to be doing now?” I answered sarcastically, stating the apparent as he suddenly stopped in his stride and turned back to face me.
My tone turned cold. “This is the second time this has happened and I’m beginning to lose my patience. If you can’t guarantee some consistency, Tseng, I’ll find someone else who can.”
