The next morning Tifa woke feeling rather toasty. Stretching she found her movement restricted by a muscular arm. This was surprising because he always went back to his own bed.
“Good morning.” He nuzzled her.
She grunted, feeling well rested but mentally out of sorts. They’d went at it until she’d fallen asleep beneath him.
He lifted her leg and slid slowly inside. She hissed, feeling sore.
“I’ll be gentle.”
He was doing more rolling than thrusting. When he came he held her to his chest and sighed. For a moment she wished it was real. Then she gave herself a mental shake. He was here for the sex.
They stayed that way for a while, saying nothing, just being. When he finally got up she felt cold. She watched as he grabbed his pants and walked out the door.
She laid back staring at the ceiling. How should she move forward? He was on some nonsense. Deciding to grab the bull by the horns she went to his room and sat in his bed. She did have enough mindfulness to brush her teeth and slide on her nightshirt.
He came out of the bathroom and glanced at her as he went to the bureau. He was naked with the towel around his neck. There were scars all over his body.
“You disappear for over a year and think it’s okay to just come back like you were gone for a few hours?”
“What should I have said? Tifa, see you in a year? Or I’ll see ya when I see ya?” He put on deodorant, his muscles flexing as he lifted his arms.
“You could have said something. I’m not a brick wall.”
“No, you’re not.” He put lotion on.
“I’m a whole person.”
“Yes, you are.”
“I do have feelings.”
“Don’t we all?”
Tifa felt frustrated. She wanted to rail at him and tell him her feelings were hurt but she realized it was a waste of energy. He was too genial and agreeable. Most likely he would concur with whatever she said to avoid a fight. Deciding to stop wasting her own time she got up and left. After bathing she went downstairs to prep for the day. He left a little while later and she put him out of her mind. She had a bar to run and children to raise.
He came back in enough time to help with closing. He also helped wash the dishes and put them away. He was silent but able. They went upstairs to their separate rooms and she headed for the shower stall. She was lathering herself when the door opened.
“Move up.”
Rolling her eyes she did and he stepped behind her. The soft music swirled around them as they washed. She inhaled the scent of the soap he brought with him. It was a spicy fresh scent and she had to admit it was nice.
“Scoot over and let me rinse off.”
She did and he stepped in front of her, the water running in rivulets down his strong, scarred back. She stared at the firm round globes of his ass and mentally sighed. He was a gorgeous specimen of a male but such an asshole.
“We’re having sex tonight.”
She frowned. “Excuse me?”
He turned around and pushed her gently against the wall. “I said we’re having sex tonight.”
“What gives you the right to dictate how I spread my legs and to whom?”
“Yelin’s dick is small and I know you need more.”
“Who said Yelin’s dick is small?”
“We were at a bathhouse some time ago. He ain’t packing nothing special. Last night I stretched you open like you were a virgin. Whatever he was doing it wasn’t sex.”
She blushed. “You’re a real jerk. There’s nothing wrong with a smaller penis. We had sex quite frequently and I wasn’t dissatisfied.” Granted, she’d come home to masturbate most times but having a man in her was nice.
He grunted. “You barely believe that yourself. Regardless, I’m giving it to you here and I’m putting you to sleep.”
She rolled her eyes before his mouth covered hers. Soon they were staring at each other as he pumped her against the wall. He wasn’t being rough but he was about his business. They moved to the bed where he made her orgasm quite a few times before they went to sleep.
The next morning it was more sex before they got up to get the children ready for school. This went on for over a month before Tifa was able to hold a real conversation. It was Sunday and the bar was closed. It was extremely early and the kids were still asleep. They were lying in bed together and she straddled him. Cloud’s eyebrow twitched. “What’s up?”
“You’re avoiding talking to me.”
“I’m not avoiding you. I sleep with you almost every night.”
“You push sex so you don’t have to talk.”
“I wouldn’t say that. I talk to you.”
“About simple things. I’m confused as to why you’re sleeping with me now.”
“Oh. That’s because I want to.”
She blinked. “You want to? You told me you wanted nothing to do with me.”
He grimaced. “Yeah, about that. I was in my feelings and the whole Aerith thing was still raw. I needed time to process it.”
“You felt that way but didn’t use protection. We’re not using it now.” She was not telling the whole truth because she was on birth control.
“I can’t change the past.”
“No, but you can clear up a few things.”
He sighed. “Before you get too het up you should know I only needed a body beneath me those days. I just wanted to fuck and you were the easiest lay.”
Tifa was hurt by the words coming out of his mouth. “The easiest lay?” Apparently all they’d been through and the amount of care she’d given him had amounted to nothing.
“Yes. You wanted to be beneath me and I didn’t fight the feeling.”
“You’re so cold.” She’d been in love with him.
“It is what it is.” He pulled her down to lay on top of him. “I’d been in love with Aerith for quite some time. Whenever we had sex it was magical and I was considering making it official.”
“You didn’t know her that long.”
“That’s not necessarily true.” His hands started rubbing her back gently. “Aerith was special. I will never forget the moments we shared. So many things are dull in comparison.”
Wow. She moved to climb off of him but he held her waist.
“Whoa, now! Don’t run away from what you wanted to hear.”
She stayed but she wasn’t happy. He was right though.
“Those first ten months I left were so difficult. In between jobs I just brooded. It wasn’t fair that after everything that happened I’d found someone worth loving and she’d been taken from me by someone I’d looked up to. It was a rough time. I had a few things to figure out. When I came back, there you were, just like always. Behind the bar surrounded by mercs. It was good for me. You hadn’t changed.”
Tifa made a face. That didn’t sound good. “I sound boring and pedantic.”
“Think more stable.”
“It still doesn’t explain why we’re here naked.”
“Sexually we’re good together.” He pushed up, grinding into her pelvis.
“Are you seeing someone?”
“Yes. Her name is Mira. She’s currently on a two week mission to go foraging.”
“Why are you having sex with me if you have someone?”
“This is how we interact best.” He rolled them over so he was on top. “No more talking.”
“I don’t want-” His mouth cut her off.
Days turned into weeks which turned into months. Looking at the calendar Tifa noticed about two months had passed since they’d had that conversation. Slowly things started getting better between them. She wasn’t as angry as she used to feel. He still didn’t talk much and sometimes he didn’t come home but what could she do? It was only a matter of time before he left again. She could smell his anticipation. He’d been distant last night although that hadn’t stopped him from mounting her. This morning hadn’t been too much better. She’d woken up to find him on her back.
Earlier…
Tifa woke to heat. Cloud was on top of her and he was in her ass. She whimpered as he slid back in. “Cloud.”
“Take it, Tifa.” His thick cock slowly glided in and out of her anus.
“It hurts a little.”
“I’m not stopping.” He moaned as he pressed deeply. “Your ass is so plump; I couldn’t resist sinking into it.” He shifted a bit and it felt better.
She sighed but gripped the pillow.
“Roll your ass, Tifa.”
She did and he moaned again. He picked up the pace until he was slamming into her as he rode it out. Groaning low he pushed hard and deep when he ejaculated. He did have the decency to eat her out before he left….
“Tifa?”
Tifa blinked as Johannes, one of the other bartenders smiled at her. “What’s good?”
“We need more Chocobo Wine.”
She nodded. “Okay. I think I have some downstairs.” She went to the back and down the steps. She had a whole wine cellar full of spirits. Looking around she found it in the back behind some Axtel whisky. After grabbing four bottles she turned around and almost jumped out of her skin. “Dammit Cloud! You scared me.” For such a big man he was very light-footed.
His lips twitched. “My bad. Do me a favor and put down those bottles for a moment.”
“Why?”
“I’m leaving.”
She blinked. “Alright. Have a safe trip.” At least he’d told her this time.
“Put down the bottles.”
“Why?”
“I need you to hold something for me.”
She put the bottles on a nearby cask. “What?”
“My sperm.” He pulled her to him, kissing her.
They had a quickie on the table in the corner she kept to open boxes. No foreplay but he banged it out and held her close as his cock twitched in her. He gave her a long kiss before fixing his clothes and leaving. After arranging hers back she grabbed the bottles and went upstairs.

“Tifa.”
“Yes, Barrett?”
“When’s the last time you spoke to Cloud?”
“About three months ago when he left. You?”
The man looked a little shifty. “Yesterday.”
“Okay. Why do you ask?”
“I was just wondering, is all.”
“You’re not telling the truth but I really don’t care. Cloud barely talked to me when he was here. Why should I expect anything different when he’s on a mission?”
“I see your point. Just forget I said anything.”
“Fine. What do you think of these rumors that Shinra is building a new mako factory? Do you think they have another piece of Jenovah or something else?”
He shrugged. “With them, who knows?”
The talk turned to other things.
It was around this time Tifa started feeling really tired. Her energy felt low and she had trouble getting up in the morning. She also felt really nauseous when she woke up. After a week of this madness she went to the doctor.
The woman smiled at her after the exam. “Congratulations, Tifa. You’re five months pregnant.”
Tifa frowned at the woman. “Five months?”
She nodded. “The body scanner can measure the gestation of a fetus.”
“I thought the birth control would stop these sorts of situations.”
The doctor shrugged. “Some men are extremely virile or the contraception fails for whatever reason. It doesn’t change the outcome. Are you keeping it or going in for the procedure?”
Tifa sighed deeply. This wasn’t what she wanted at all. “I’m keeping it.” Her mouth moved like it wasn’t hers but that was what she felt deep inside. At one time she would have been overjoyed to hear such news.
The doctor nodded. “Alright. I have a few things you’ll need to make life a little easier.”
Walking back to the bar Tifa was deep in contemplation. Would her being in the Lifestream affect the baby? Would Cloud’s mako infused body alter the child? Was this why her body had waited so long to tell her there was another being inside of her? So many questions with no answers. She decided to say nothing until she was showing.
Weeks went by and surprisingly her belly didn’t grow that large. Her uterus sat back in her hips so she was carrying in her ass, so to speak. The doctor was amazed because he, it was a boy, was rather large for his age. By the time she was seven months she had developed a small belly even though the baby was almost five pounds. It all came to a head one night when Vincent, Yuffie and Barrett were hanging at the bar.
Yuffie held up a glass. “Tifa, join us in a toast. That last raid was awesome!”
Tifa poured herself a glass of milk and walked over to the table. She should say waddled because it was hard to walk properly anymore.
Barrett made a face. “Milk? Really, Tifa?”
Tifa shrugged. “I don’t feel like drinking right now.”
Vincent hadn’t been around for a while, this being the first time this year she’d seen him, so his eyes were probably sharper. “You shouldn’t be drinking anyway.” His eyes were knowing.
Yuffie frowned. “Why not?”
Vincent frowned. “Have none of you noticed that Tifa is pregnant?”
All eyes turned to her and she shrugged.
Barrett looked flabbergasted. “Is this true, Tifa?”
Sighing she nodded. “I’m seven and a half months along.”
They all looked shocked now though Yuffie spoke. “Where is your belly?”
Tifa lifted her shirt to show her little bump. It looked like she was three months pregnant.
Barrett grunted. “I feel some type of way! Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Because you would have told Cloud.”
He paused before shaking his head. “Of course, I would have told him! He has a right to know he has a child on the way.”
Her eyes bore into his. “What gives you the right to tell him I’m pregnant?”
He frowned. “I’m his friend. Why would I hide it?”
“Because it’s not your news to share.” Vincent took a sip of his drink.
Barrett looked offended. “What do you mean? I can share what I want! That’s not something you skip in conversation.”
“Why would you steal that moment away from Tifa?”
Barrett opened his mouth then closed it. “It’s not right.”
“Why? Because you deem it so? Don’t create problems out of your misguided attempts at keeping Cloud up to date about current events.”
“I don’t create problems now!”
“Obviously there is some strain between them which is why Cloud doesn’t know. Tifa, when is the last time you spoke to Cloud?”
“The day he left.”
Vincent turned to Barrett. “Barrett, when is the last time you spoke to Cloud?”
“Two days ago.” He tightened his lips.
“How often do you speak to him?”
“Every week.” The words sounded like they were being dragged from him.
“Tell me again about your right to inform Cloud of Tifa’s pregnancy.”
Barrett looked mulish. “That’s not the sort of surprise a man should walk into.”
Yuffie nodded. “I’m with Vincent. This is her first child. How do you know Tifa wasn’t going to tell him to his face? His mission is slated for eleven months but he could return early. Don’t be a selfish jerk, Barrett.”
“How am I a selfish jerk?”
“Because you’re more concerned about yourself than Tifa’s feelings over something that really isn’t your business. Honestly, who says it’s Cloud’s child? We’re all grown and aware of how things work. We know he’s with Mira. Tifa could be pregnant by someone else. You’re just assuming Cloud’s the father.” She swirled her glass.
Tifa loved Yuffie for that. She’d put Barret in his place swiftly.
Barrett frowned. “I didn’t consider that.”
“I know you didn’t. That’s why Vincent told you not to create problems. How would you feel if someone told you a person you had sex with was pregnant by you and found out it wasn’t yours?”
“But this is different.”
“How? At no time did Tifa say she was pregnant by Cloud.”
“She’s right. At no time did Tifa divulge the father of her child. Get over yourself, Barrett. Keep your mouth shut and let things play out how they’re supposed to.” Vincent took another sip of his drink.
Barrett looked uncomfortable. “Fine! I won’t say anything.”
“Swear you won’t in any way, shape or fashion tell Cloud Tifa is pregnant.”
Barrett looked at Yuffie insulted. “I said I wouldn’t let him know.”
“If this is true then swear on it. I’m not asking for much if you’re earnest.”
The hand Barrett had on the table clenched into a fist. “You have insulted me greatly.”
“Why?” Vincent’s cool voice broke through their tension. “You’re extremely loyal to Cloud so her request is a valid one. This is about Tifa’s wellbeing because Cloud is fine. What are you really protecting him from? Were you there when they had sex and he told her not to get pregnant?”
Barrett rolled his eyes. “Now you’re being facetious.”
“No, I’m just trying to help you focus on the proper things. What does Cloud really gain from knowing Tifa is pregnant?”
Barrett sighed in defeat. “When you put it like that, nothing. Just the knowledge of the fact.”
“Their relationship is already damaged. Giving him that knowledge may make it worse.”
Barrett sucked his teeth. “I swear that I shall not tell Cloud about Tifa’s pregnancy or anything concerning it in any way, shape or fashion. Satisfied?”
Yuffie smiled. “Immensely. Thank you for that.”
He grunted and finished his drink. “I’m gonna need another.”
Tifa got up. “I’ll make it.”
She was happy for the moment with the outcome.
