A reason to live...

The muffled sound of shoes walking on carpet and the kitchen floor stirred him from his sleep. Also the smell of coffee and toast filled the air, as well of more noise from a newspaper being folded and flipped through.

Reno groaned as he twisted around on the couch. It wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world but at least it was usable. Green eyes fluttered opened, looking around, attempting to figure out what woke him up.

“Look who’s awake…” A voice came from above him. Reno looked up and saw his sunglass wearing pal looking down at him. Reno sat up groaning again in the process, rubbing the back of his neck and also rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

“Ah… Rude. I had… *Yawn* ..the weirdest dream last night.” He paused continuing to rub his eyes. The light from the sun was almost too bright. “I dreamt… that I bought this human pet… and had hardcore sex with it…” A yawn escaped from his mouth as he looked back towards Rude. “Weird huh?”

Rude could only chuckle slightly and point down to the front of the couch. Reno blinked curiously and looked down to where Rude was pointing. Low and behold, the Pet he had hardcore sex with slept on the floor. His raven hair was spread out around him and his arms were over his head. The dress he was wearing was still off, his shirt was pushed up, exposing his chest. His head was tilted slightly to the side and he wore a small but fragile smile on his face.

Reno gasped and sat back up shooting his hands down to his crotch, in hope to stop himself from getting any hornier. “Oh that’s right… I did.” He chuckled in embarrassment, while a slight blush ran across his face.

Rude just shook his head. “You’re a piece of work.” He sighed, walking back into the kitchen, getting the fresh coffee that had finished brewing.

A mumble made Reno glance back towards the floor. Vincent sat up rubbing his eyes. Red eyes met green ones as Vincent looked up at Reno with a smile. Reno smiled back and cupped Vincent’s face with his hands. “Good morning. Now that your up, you can make us breakfast.” Reno said, not forgetting that that was one of the things Vincent should be able to do.

Vincent blinked. “What’s… breakfast Master?”

It seemed like a blinking contest was about to ensue. Reno was puzzled by the fact that Vincent did know, but could see Vincent had no clue.

“Um… well…” Reno got up and walked towards Rude, leaving Vincent who stood up and watched Reno. “Breakfast is the meal you eat after you wake up.” Reno pointed at Rude who was sitting at the table eating his toast. “Like Rude is here.”

Rude glanced at Reno. “You’re using me as an example… why?” Not that he minded, of course. Rude was usually sarcastic in the morning.

“Do you get it?” Reno glanced back at Vincent, who just stood there, chewing on his fingers like a child. Reno blinked twice before he realized what he was dealing with. He could tell Vincent wasn’t… retarded or anything. Maybe, he just wasn’t educated enough when he grew up. Does that mean he’s been livin’ with those people this entire time?! He rubbed his forehead, which was starting to hurt. He wasn’t use to thinking this much in the morning. “Ho boy…”

There was a chuckle behind him from none other than Rude. Reno sulked in which made Rude grin at him. “Don’t look at me… You bought him.” He said, walking towards the front door before stopping, sniffing the air slightly. “By the way… what smells like urine?”

He never noticed it until Rude mentioned it. There was a small amount of the odor lingering in the air. Reno looked around and moved around to find the source. Oddly enough, it got stronger as he got closer to Vincent. He leaned down and sniffed again.

Reno fell to the floor, covering his nose with his hands. “Ewww… It’s him…” He groaned, as Vincent went down on his knees, watching and wondering what his Master was doing.

All Reno heard then was Rude saying “Yeah, good luck with that” before he heard the click of the door.

~~~~~~~~~
A few moments later, Reno dragged Vincent into the bathroom in an attempt to explain where he should have gone the first time. He pointed at the toilet first.
“When you--- um…” He paused, thinking of words that Vincent would understand better. “---need to go potty, you do it here.”
“Go… potty?” Vincent questioned.
Reno sighed. He pointed at Vincent’s crotch. “What you did there,” then at the toilet, “…goes here. Understand…? Well…” Reno figured if Vincent didn’t let him know when he needed to go, he would just wet himself again. “Just tell me when you need to go alright?”
Vincent smiled and nodded. “Okay Master. I’ll tell you when I need to go potty.”
Phew. Got that taken care of.
Ten minutes later, the washing machine was up and running. Hopefully that would wash up Vincent’s panties so they were wearable again.
He won’t have any underwear to wear. As long as he doesn’t pee on himself again everything should be fine. “Now then…” He spoke out loud, before walking upstairs to where Vincent was waiting.
Vincent was sitting at the dining table, swinging his legs and looking around at nothing in particular. He had his worn-out purple dress back on, even though Reno wouldn’t mind if Vincent was naked. A low grumbling noise interrupted his thoughts. Reno knew it was his growling stomach and wasn’t too happy about the fact that there still wasn’t any food in front of him. Damn fraud companies. If he wasn’t so stupid he would have never bought the guy.
Grumble…
There it goes again, messing with him. Reno looked towards Vincent, red eyes still wandering around the room. Ignoring his aching belly for now, Reno decided it would be best to see what Vincent ate. He began walking towards Vincent, getting his attention very quickly.
“Seeing that you have no idea what breakfast is, I doubt you can make it.” Reno assumed, scratching the back of his head. “Out of curiosity, what do you eat?”
Crimson eyes dropped to the floor in thought, Vincent attempted to describe it with the words he knew, which wasn’t very many. “Umm… white, mushy stuff…”
Blank. Blank would be the best way to describe Reno’s facial expression. “White, mushy stuff?” He repeated. Vincent nodded. That’s just great. Reno had no idea where to start. By the time he guessed what it was, he could say ‘bye bye’ to breakfast and lunch, as well as his angry stomach eating him from the inside-out. Reno sighed. “What about pudding? Does that sound familiar to you?”
Vincent shook his head. “No Master.”
“Um… frosting?”
“No.”
Just what I wanted to do in the morning: play a guessing game… “Yogurt?”
“No.”
"Ice cream? “
“No.”
“Dammit. I give up.” Reno fell back in the dining chair in defeat. What the hell is white and mushy and something they feed to human Pets like this?
“I’m sorry Master.” Vincent muttered, lowering his head.
Concerned, Reno reached out his hands and grasped Vincent’s, startling him slightly. “Hey now, don’t blame this on yourself. It’s not your fault you don’t know.” Reno smiled released Vincent’s hands and got up, heading towards the bookshelf next to his room.
Vincent’s eyes didn’t even follow him. Both were have glazed, staring at his hands, now in his lap. He had never felt this way before. Ever since Reno had talked to him, he felt there was something more than them being Master and Pet. The problem being that Vincent didn’t know what that was. He heard a few knocking noises before he turned around, seeing his Master walking back with something in his hands.
“Maybe you can find what you’re talking about in this food book.” Reno said, setting the book on the table in front of Vincent. It was a good thing that Reno kept this book from his childhood. Not only can he use it for reference with drawing, he can use it as a learning tool for Vincent.
“This one.” Nearly 20 minutes later and Vincent finally decided to point at a picture, at least Reno thought that. He had already put his growling stomach to rest by making his own meal, which consisted of a few pieces of bread with peanut butter spread across it. It wasn’t that Reno didn’t know how to cook, considering he makes full cooked meals for Rude everyday, he was just to lazy. He made his way over to the table and glanced at the picture Vincent was pointing at.
Mashed potatoes.
Well, that technically is white and mushy… “Wait, is that all you eat?” Reno questioned.
Vincent looked up and smiled. “Yes.”
It was no wonder that Vincent seemed malnourished. He only ate a mashed up vegetable every single day, and who knows what kind of treatment he experienced while he was there. Hell, Vincent may be sick or infected or some other health issue. Reno shuttered. Andddd… I had sex with him.
Turning his thoughts back to the mashed potatoes, he wondered if they even had any. He went to check if they had any in the cabinets. None. In the pantry. None. Not even the pre-made box kind. Shit.
Vincent curiously watched Reno search until he came back towards Vincent. “Are you alright with eating something else?” Vincent nodded in reply.
About 10 minutes later and Reno was finished. He figured it would be best to give something close to mashed potatoes. Instant rice was the closest thing he could think of, plus he could make some extra for himself. When he turned to put it on the table he noticed that Vincent wasn’t there. Where the hell is he? He was here a minute ago. A tug on his pants interrupted his search and scared him half to death. Reno jumped back, clutching on to the bowl of rice thinking it would defend him somehow. As Reno sprung backwards, so did Vincent, who was equally shocked as Reno was. Vincent didn’t expect Reno to nearly kick him in the face and let out a shriek.
“Geez… It’s just you.” Reno let out a sigh and began to approach Vincent, who stumbled backwards like he was trying to run. His expression on his face confused Reno, since Vincent looked frightened and worried at the same time. “Hey, its okay. I’m not going to hurt you. You just scared me that’s all. Why are you on the floor anyways?”
There was a pause before Vincent began speaking. “I… eat on floor.” His voice was barely over a whisper and his tone of voice still seemed like he was shocked.
“What do you mean you eat on the floor?” Reno questioned, glancing at the floor for a moment. Does he mean literally or with a bowl?
“Pet’s eat on floor. I’m a Pet, so I eat on floor too.” Vincent’s voice had turned back to normal. A small smile crept on his face. “It’s a rule. Rule in book.”
That book. That damn book Reno still had to read. He knew it would come back to haunt him someday if he didn’t read it. Reno didn’t even bother arguing with Vincent and placed the bowl in front of Vincent, who began eating right away, like an animal who had not eaten in weeks. Placing his own bowl of rice on the table, he didn’t hesitate to eat as well, glancing over to Vincent once in a while.
It wasn’t before long before Reno spoke up. “I don’t understand.” Vincent looked up at Reno and watched him closely. “I don’t understand why you need to act like a ‘pet’ despite the fact you’re referred to as a ‘Pet’.” Vincent’s crimson eyes met green ones as Reno turned his face to look at him. Reno just smiled slightly and leaned forward and down to match Vincent’s eye level. “Are you done?” He asked, noting that Vincent’s bowl was pretty much already empty. Vincent nodded and Reno got up to take his bowl away. He came back with a wet rag and began wiping off Vincent’s face, since he had gotten rice all over himself. “I’m sure you were a normal person at one point.” Reno continued. “Those people must have… brainwashed you or something.”
“Brain… washed?” Vincent repeated, wondering what it meant.
“It’s a word… that you might not understand yet.”
“Word? Word from book?”
“Hm?” Reno stopped wiping Vincent’s face and listened. Perhaps Vincent would mention something helpful.
“There’s lots of words in book.” Vincent continued. “Book has words about Pet.”
Reno sighed. So much for being helpful. Vincent was mention the book again, the book he didn’t want to read. Reno stood up and picked up the book from the table and pointed at it. “You mean this book? The book with the rules about you in it?”
“Yes.” Vincent stood up as well, eyeing Reno curiously.
“So you’re saying I have to read this book in order to know more about you?” Reno said, his thoughts already confirming what Vincent was going to say.
“Yes Master.”
If these questions where part of a game show, Reno would be getting all the points. He figured Vincent wouldn’t know much about what Reno was suppose to do. Maybe he did. He probably just didn’t know what to say or how to say it, considering that Reno noticed Vincent’s vocabulary was particularly lacking.
Reno sat on the couch, attempting to read the novel, as Reno put it, of rules and ‘how to’s’. Vincent was snuggled up next to him. His head was on Reno’s shoulder and his eye’s were half-lidded as he played with the folds in Reno’s shirt. It was obviously true that your Pet would give you company when needed. In this case, Reno considered it too much company.
The sound of a door latch and clanking keys broke the silence of the room. Reno looked over his shoulder and saw Rude entering with a woman. She had blond, wavy hair, was most likely anorexic, and had an overly sized chest. Reno knew who she was. She came by often to ‘hang out’. Reno just couldn’t figure out why Rude had such a weird choice in women.
“Look who’s home.” Reno said sarcastically, giving his trademark smirk to Rude.
“What do you mean by that?” Rude lifted an eyebrow.
Reno stood up, smiling even more sarcastically that before. “Oh, I just didn’t expect you home so early.”
“Oh Reno baby, don’t be like that!” The woman reached out her arms and glomped Reno, smashing his face against her breasts. Reno’s smirk was wiped off in an instant. “Why do you give Rudie a hard time, huh?”
“As much as I love your tits Larrisa, I really don’t find them appealing right at this moment.” Reno mumbled still against Larrisa’s chest. She backed away and giggled as Reno gasped for air.
“You be a good little boy okay? ‘Cause Rude and me are gonna have some fun tonight.” Larrisa stated before grabbing Rude and leading him to the basement.
“Oh sure… defiantly.” Reno said before both Rude and Larrisa shut the door. Reno placed his arms over his head and sighed. “Geez. I swear Rude’s dick is gonna fall off one of these days from too much sex.” Reno turned around and saw Vincent’s eyes peeking over the couch slightly. “What?” Reno chuckled. Despite the fact Vincent was probably as old as Reno, he still acted like a little kid.
“Master?” Vincent popped up from his earlier position, his arms laying on top of the couch.
“Hm? What is it?”
“I have to go potty.”
Reno blinked a few times before comprehending what Vincent was saying. He grabbed Vincent’s arm and jolted towards the bathroom, hoping Vincent wouldn’t go on the way there. Reno closed the door behind them and leaned against it. “Okay, go ahead. I’ll make sure no one comes in.”
Vincent looked at Reno while chewing on his index finger gently before looking at the toilet in front of him, and then back towards Reno, who gave him an odd look. “I don’t know how Master.”
“You have got to be kidding me.” Reno whined. Why the hell doesn’t he know how to use a toilet? Reno wondered what Vincent went in when he needed to go. This made him wonder even more about what those people might have done to him or even taught him to do. Reno sighed and walked over to where Vincent stood and knelt down in front of him. “It’s simple. All you do is: lift the cover up…” Reno lifted the cover from the toilet and proceeded to pull down Vincent’s dress. “…then you pull down your dress.” Reno stopped midway through his action, seeing that he had forgotten that Vincent didn’t have his underwear on. He resumed pulling the dress down and stood up and pointed at the toilet. “After you do that you sit down on the toilet.” Sitting down would be much easier to teach Vincent than doing this standing up. Technically, it’s the way all people are potty trained, most of the time.
Vincent sat down, shivering from the sudden coldness from the toilet seat. He looked up at Reno. “Like this?”
“Yep. Then, you go potty.” Satisfied that Vincent was understanding, Reno took a step to the side and leaned against the counter, still watching Vincent to make sure he was actually going to the bathroom. Finally he heard the noise he wanted and cheered a silent victory to himself. He was successful in training a man his age to take a piss.
“I’m all done Master.” Vincent said nearly standing up before getting shoved down by Reno again.
“Before you get up, you need to dry yourself first, so you need to use this.” Reno said tugging at the toilet paper. After that was done, Reno showed him the rest of the steps. While doing this, Reno realized how many steps there were in going to the bathroom. Now he felt sorry for what he made his parent go through.
Finally. Reno stretched his arms up in exhaustion. He didn’t even notice Vincent was mimicking what Reno was doing. Reno let out a breath and began walking out of the bathroom, Vincent following close behind. Reno stopped at the dining room where he had put down the book before making a made dash with Vincent to the bathroom. After the bathroom thing, he really wasn’t in the mood to continue reading.
I need a breath of fresh air. Reno turned to Vincent, who was eyeing him curiously like always. “How about we go outside for a bit.” Reno said before walking towards the patio door, stopping when he noticed Vincent was not following him. “What’s up?”
Vincent’s looked down, before he began twisting around as if he was searching for something.
“What? What are you looking for?” Reno asked wandering over back to Vincent. Vincent began pulling on his collar. “You want that off?” Reno reached towards Vincent’s collar, who suddenly backed away from him.
“No. Collar stay on.” Vincent muttered, creating a circle with his fingers around his collar and began pulling on it again.
“I… don’t get what you want.” His eyebrows knitted as he tried to think of what Vincent was trying to show. Vincent tugged harder on the collar. Reno eyes shot open. “Oh! Are you talking about your leash?” Vincent nodded. “Are you serious? Why do you need it on? All we’re doing is going outside in my backyard.”
Red eyes looked towards the ground. A small frown appeared on Vincent face. He almost seemed, sad. “Yes Master. It’s in book. If Pet goes outside without leash…” He paused for a second before continuing. “…Pet gets punished.” A flood of memories filled Vincent’s mind after saying that word. He was shackled to the ceiling and someone’s hand held his chin up as he cried. There was a crack of a whip and Vincent screamed out, shedding more tears than before.
“You’ve been a bad boy. You said you COULD go outside without a leash.” The man holding Vincent’s chin said. He gripped Vincent’s chin tighter, sticking one of his fingers in Vincent’s mouth.
“I…I…” Vincent sobbed. His legs and back where nearly numb from pain. If it weren’t for the shackles he would have been on the floor already. Before Vincent could finish, there was another loud crack and the sound of a pain filled scream.
Reno stared at him with disbelief. They would punish him, just because he did have a leash on when going outside. He shook his head to clear his thoughts. “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. I wouldn’t punish you just because I forgot to put your leash on!” Reno was getting a pleading look from Vincent, as if he should just get it and put it on. He muttered something before walking away towards his room.
He came back not to long after holding the leash in his hand. After carefully latching it on to Vincent’s collar, Reno led him out the door and outside.
The sun was shining, the chirping of birds could be heard off in the distance. This was what Reno needed to clear his mind. He walked slowly and mindlessly through his backyard, paying no attention to Vincent who kept attempting to stop and look at things. Reno could feel the tugging but continued to walk in a daze towards the far back of the yard. That is, until the leash completely tightened and nearly threw Reno backwards onto his back. He looked over his shoulder to find Vincent looking at some flowers. “What? There just flowers.” Reno mentioned, taking a step closer to Vincent, to see what he was actually doing. There was a bee there and to Reno, it looked like Vincent was trying to poke it. Instinct kicked in and Reno grabbed Vincent’s arms and pulled them back. “No! Don’t touch that!” Reno pulled a little too hard, which made Vincent fall backwards nearly hitting Reno over as well. Luckily, Vincent didn’t seem hurt, just curious like usual.
“What is it Master?” Vincent asked lifting himself back up to sit on his legs.
“It’s a bee, and it can sting you if you’re not careful.”
“Sting?”
“Yeah…” Reno tried his best to imitate what a sting was with his hand and finger and also explain with words Vincent would comprehend. “It’s when the bee takes it’s stinger and pokes you with it, which hurts for awhile.”
“Oh…” Vincent began looking around again and noticed a butterfly flying among the bushes. He gasped and nearly jumped on Reno, who was least expecting it, and clutched onto him for dear life. “No! It stings!”
After nearly getting the wind knocked out of him, he noticed the butterfly as well. “Oh… No, that won’t hurt you.” He wrapped his arms around Vincent to comfort him, who was still somewhat panicked and was trying to avoid the butterfly by dunking or moving slightly. “Butterflies are harmless. They won’t hurt you.”
Vincent snuggled closely to Reno. “Okay Master.”
His bed squeaked when he dropped his body on top of it. It was almost 10 o’clock at night and Reno was exhausted. He usually wasn’t tired until 12. But he was learning a lesson: never get pets and never have any children. But then again, the first few weeks are the worst right? Then it gets better. Reno thought… and hoped. After taking Vincent in and making sure he hadn’t got stung, he tried reading the book again, which ended in failure. He ended up watching television… and teaching what that box with flashing images on it was to Vincent.
Reno rolled onto his back, folding his arms behind his head. He closed his eyes, while his thoughts continued to drift back to Vincent. The guy was sexy and cute and all that, he just acts like a 5 year old. Movement from his bed interrupted his thoughts as he opened an eye. Vincent was sitting between his outstretched legs. Vincent’s legs where up against his chest while his arms while wrapped around them. What Reno first noticed, is that he was completely naked. Reno sat up slightly and gazed up into Vincent’s red eyes. It seemed like it was perfectly normal to Vincent to be like this.
Vincent noticed Reno’s confused look. He began to wonder why his Master wasn’t doing what he was supposed to be doing. “Master?”
His head perked up, still giving Vincent a confused look. “Why are you naked?” Reno figured he didn’t have to ask that question. He knew that the reason was sex… and Reno was certainly not in the mood for sex.
“It’s for you to use me Master.” Vincent answered. Bingo. Reno should be getting a cookie right now.
“No, not tonight.” Reno grumbled, combing his fingers through his hair. As much as I like it, I can’t do it every night like Rude, who is most likely doing the duty downstairs right now.
“No?” Vincent questioned, but Reno stayed silent. A tight knot formed in Vincent’s stomach. From Vincent’s point of view, Reno didn’t want him, Reno hated him. He thought he wasn’t doing enough for his Master to enjoy. Which meant… Tears began to form in his eyes as he continued to watch Reno, who had laid back down again. “You… I…” Vincent sobbed, trying to hold back his tears. “You… don’t enjoy me Master?”
“Wha-” Reno sat up only to be knocked down again by Vincent who had jumped on top of him again and wrapped his arms around Reno’s neck holding onto him tightly.
“No please! Don’t send me back!” Vincent choked.
“What are you talking about?”
“I’ll do better! Don’t send me back! Please!”
“Okay Okay! I won’t send you back!” Reno yelled, trying to calm Vincent down and at the same time tried to get Vincent to loosen his grip. “What happens if I do?”
By that time Vincent had let go of Reno and sat up, supporting himself with his arms. His black hair draped over his shoulders, almost hiding his tears that where still running down his cheeks. “They… take Pets… to a place and…” Vincent continued sobbing, his voice hushed. “… they… hit and… hurt Pets, until Pets go to sleep and… never wake up.”
Reno’s eyes were wide. Never wake up? They… kill them?! His jaw dropped. They kill them if their Master sends them back? If their Master doesn’t like their Pet, those people take it back and kill it? Reno shifted himself so he could sit straight and cupped Vincents face with his hands, wiping away a tear. Vincent sobbed again before lifting his head to look at Reno. Reno smiled. “I’ll never send you back.” He wrapped his arms around Vincent and pulled him close. Vincent’s breathing slowed as he relaxed into Reno’s hug. Reno kissed the top of Vincent’s head and rubbed his back. “That’s a promise.”
damn, that was a long chapter. but I got it done!!! finally… XD
