Rikku awoke the next morning. She definitely felt different. She could feel the magic, pulsing throughout her body. She itched to use it, she wanted to feel the pleasure of exerting her forces. She smiled, getting up. "Rise and shine everybody! We've got a lot of exploring to do!" She giggled, knowing that she just pissed everyone off, yet no one would be too mad. I mean, I'm adorable. They can't get mad. She just smiled even more.
They were making their way along the path toward Guadosalem, when they were attacked. Rikku knew they were in trouble when she saw it was Al Bhed. "Rikku, what are you doing here?" one of the fighters asked. Rikku answered back in Al Bhed, "I'm protecting Yuna, tell Pops I'm fine. Now leave." The three men bowed to her before disappearing into the woods. Rikku smiled, "Glad that's all taken care of." Her smile vanished as soon as she saw the look on Wakka's face. She began to inch away, terrified. "Why do you know Al Bhed Rikku?" Rikku didn't answer and began inching away even faster. "Well?" She gulped. "Because I am one," she whispered. His filled with hatred and he took a step forward. Rikku squealed but was quickly shielded by Auron and Yuna. Yuna spoke first, "Rikku is my family. She is staying with us, whether you like it or not." Auron nodded, "She is a good fighter and only wants the best for Spira, much like you and I." Wakka punched the air. "Fine. So be it." He stormed away. Rikku looked down and began to cry. "Yunie, I'm so sorry. I don't want him to be mad at everyone because of me. I just feel so terrible." Yuna came over and hugged Rikku, "No, don't be upset. Be proud. You're helping to save the world. You are doing the right thing." Rikku looked up to her older cousin and smiled. Rikku then turned to Auron. "Thank you Auron. I really appreciate it." He didn't meet her gaze, but simply nodded. "I meant it, you are a great warrior. You are strong and determined." Auron walked away, but Rikku was so happy! He thinks I'm strong and determined. He does notice me! She did a little jump in the air before continuing down the path towards the village with the group. Once they arrived, Yuna decided she wanted to see the Farplane. Everyone was excited, but Rikku. She didn't want to go, it would only bring her sadness. Rikku's mother died when she was very young in a machina accident, and it pained her to think about it. Rikku liked to remember her mother the way she did. She didn't need to go somewhere to get an "image." Everyone made their way through the portal. Everyone except for her. And Auron? She sat across from him, observing what she saw. He looked tired, like he hadn't slept in ages. "How come you don't want to go in?" He huffed, "I don't belong." Rikku nodded, "Memories are nice, but that's all they are." The two of them sat in silence. Rikku stared at the pyreflies floating around them. "They're beautiful" she whispered. Auron nodded in agreement. After that they made their way to Seymour's place so Yunie could take to him. "I wonder what he wants." Auron spoke, "Nothing good." Tidus didn't feel comfortable with the whole thing, and neither did Rikku. Sure enough, Yuna returned her face beat red. Rikku ran to her cousin, "What happen?" Yuna shook her head, "He asked me to marry him." Instantly there was an uproar. Tidus was objecting the most. Rikku understood why, he loved Yuna. And Yuna loved him. Unfortunately, that's not always enough. Rikku left the group, wanting to give her cousin some time to think. She heard footsteps approaching and knew it was him. He sat down on the railing next to her. "So what do you think?" he asked. "Whatever makes her happy. Hopefully it'll keep her from her pilgramage." Rikku answered, "What about you?" Auron shrugged, "I could care less as long as it doesn't affect her journey." Rikku stood, stomping her foot as she did. "How can you say that?" she yelled. "Yuna shouldn't have to make this journey. She shouldn't have to die." Auron replied, "She made this choice. You can't stop her." Rikku crossed her arms, "Well I'm trying. It isn't right." "Rikku, Spira needs this. Stop being so immature." "Immature? Auron, you're ridiculous. You can't just throw her life away!" Rikku stormed away with tears in her eyes, how could he be so really. He is wrong. Rikku waited before Yuna returned, saying that she told Seymour she needed tim, and that they were to contine their journey. Rikku refused to look at anyone, she was just mad. Mad at everyone, including herself. She needed to fix things, but just didn't know how. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
