“Hey, Zell?” said a males voice, causing said man to blink. He saw Squall walking his way, and cocked his head to the side.
“What?” It was unusual that Squall approach him like this, so it was a wonder that he had. He waited for anything the other boy wanted to say to him. He had just got back from his ma's place, where he had spent a few hours visiting there, as he did often.
Squall stopped in front of him, eyes narrowed. “I've been thinking...” he trailed off in thought, wondering if he should really say what he was going to say. He had done a lot of thinking the past few days, and had thought of something to go along with this little bet of theirs. They made a bet, and he just thought they could add to it. Why could the harm be? Squall had thought to himself.
“What? Squall, what are you getting at? I have a class I need to get to. You being the Commander and all should understand it's not good to be late,” Zell told him, crossing his arms, growing more impatient with the other man standing just a few feet from him, who appeared to be in deep thought about something or another, which didn't surprise the blond.
The brunet glared, hating to be rushed, but knowing Zell did have a point. He had just left his office to seek the other before he went to his martial arts class in a few minutes. He sighed and also crossed his arms over his chest, giving a look back to the other man. “It's about the bet,” he mentioned.
Zell gave him a curious look, wondering what Squall had in mind. He cocked his head to the side, narrowing his eyes in suspicion. “What about the bet, Squall?”
“Well,” he started, “I was thinking that since we made the bet, why not add to it?” He gave the other man a look, which was returned with one of curiosity.
“Hmm.” Zell eyed him for several moments, wondering where Squall was going with this. They had already made the bet, and now he wondered what the brunet had in mind. “I'm listening.”
Squall smirked; he had him. “Hn. I was thinking; how about whoever gets Seifer to kiss him first gets to have him?”
Zell thought about it. “Hmm, I guess...” he trailed off, thinking if he should really do this. Well, it couldn't hurt, right? What harm could it do? He was somewhat confident that he might win this little bet they had going, but then again, Squall and Seifer a connection that he and Zell didn't. That made Zell frown. He wanted to have that kind of connection with the taller blond. “Sure,” he said, giving his agreement to it.
Squall nodded. “Fine. Whoever kisses Seifer first get him for himself.” He held out his hand, making it official.
Zell shook his hand, smirking, seeming more confident than he felt about it. “Alright. You're on then. Squally-boy.”
Squall's right eye twitched. That was the name Seifer always called him. He glared at his friend and huffed. “Whatever.”
“Yeah. Well, I'm gonna get goin.' My class is starting soon. Don't wanna be late...” He eyed Squall. “What are you gonna do?”
Squall shrugged. “I don't know. I was think about getting something from the cafeteria. Then probably go back to my office,” he lied. Well, he was gong to the cafeteria, but he didn't really have any plans to go back to his office.
“Hmm,” Zell nodded. “Okay. Well, I'll see ya later, man.” The blond waved a jogged off in the direction of his class, Squall watching him go with a smirk on his face.
“Yeah..” Squall walked off after a moment, heading to get some food from the cafeteria.
As he was walking there, he couldn't help but think about his and Zell's bet. He was sure he would win this. What had made him think of this bet in the first place? He knew his jealousy had splurged it on. He just wanted the tall, sexy blond gunlblader. He couldn't help how he felt. He just knew what he wanted, and he thought this was a way to help him get what he wanted.
He didn't mind a little competition, though, and with his friend no less. Actually, the brunet loved challenges, much like Seifer himself. That's how he'd always been; always rising to a challenge and not backing down. But, he was the one who made this bet, and he was going to follow through with it. Squall sighed. He didn't know how he was going to do this yet, he just acted on instinct most of the time. And, this was on instinct. Once the thought had entered his mind, he went with it, finding that it would be easy.
He had never done anything like this before, though. Well, he never had like someone like he liked Seifer before either. Seifer was the only one who had ever made him feel this way, and he was the only one who could ever get Squall to react in some way. The tall blond was good at getting under his skin, always had been. No one could get to Squall like him. There was just something about Seifer that made Squall react to him.
“Hey, Squall!” a voice called out to him, making him blink, as he was so into his thoughts he hadn't heard anyone approaching him. He turned around and spotted Seifer coming towards him.
“Hey,” Squall said in return, eying him, not going unnoticed by the other man.
“Where ya headed?” Seifer asked him, coming to walk along side the other man. He had long legs, so he had caught up to Squall quickly with his long strides.
“The cafeteria,” he answered.
“Oh.. Well, I was wondering if you wanted to spar?”
“Sure..” Squall didn't even hesitate to answer him. Hell, food can wait until later. Seifer had just asked him to spar, he couldn't—wouldn't turn that down. In fact, he couldn't remember a time when he had ever refused Seifer's offers to spar.
“Really? What about getting some food?” Seifer questioned, noting how easily Squall had agreed to a sparing session with him. He had never seen the brunet quite so eager to spar with him before, so it confused him, but decided against saying anything about it.
All he got was a shrug. “I'm not that hungry. It can wait.”
Seifer eyed him for several silent moments before he spoke again. “Alright then. Come on, Squally-boy.”
The other man found himself not caring that Seifer called him that. “Yeah.” They headed to the training center, Squall thinking about Seifer, and how he looked when he was all sweaty and out of breath. He quickly shook those thoughts away, not wanting to cause Seifer to ask him any questions that he really didn't want to answer. But.. he couldn't seem to shake the thoughts away.
Squall had to go to his room, though, as he did not have his gunblade. Seifer agreed, saying he'd meet him in there then. So Squall took off to get his gunblade then headed to training center. “About time. What took you so long?”
“I wasn't that long,” Squall pointed out, eying Seifer and biting his lip. “You ready?” he asked, even if just to take his mind off of his thoughts for a while. Though, with the object of his thoughts standing right in front of him, he doubted it would do any good.
“Yep,” Seifer replied, getting ready, gunblade held in one hand. Seifer was strong. It took a lot of strength to hold a gunblade with one hand.
Squall also got ready, holding his blade in two hands, pointing it at Seifer. They went at each other, gunbaldes whistling with their actions. Seifer aimed for Squall's chest, who barely managed to dodge the attack. They were equals. They were a match when it came to gunblades. Seifer ducked a hit from the brunet, retaliating with a low swing, trying to get his legs, which he did manage to get.
“Come on, Squally. You can do better than that,” Seifer taunted, grinning.
Squall rushed him, blade met blade, the sound of blades crashing echoed throughout the training center. He pushed forward, trying to make Seifer lose his balance and slip, but it wasn't easy, Seifer was strong. He could feel him pushing back, and Seifer was stronger, managing to get Squall and tripping him.
Squall jumped up and before Seifer knew what hit him, Squall aimed a blow at his midsection, causing said man to gasp, but held his smirk. “Not bad.” He stood straight and held his blade in an upward arch, aiming for Squall's arm, which he happened to get.
“Whatever.” Squall said back, never knowing how to take compliments well.
“Aw, what's the matter, Squally? Tired?”
Squall glared. “No, bastard.” He frowned. He got a look at the taller man, who had sweat glistening over his brows and down his face, making his tanned skin glow. He saw Seifer wipe the beads of sweat off of his face, seeming to not be able to take his eyes off of the action, watching Seifer's muscles flex with the action. He was also breathing hard. He couldn't seem to take his eyes off the other man. Seifer was always a sight to look at; always had been. He found his heart going faster, something that happened often when he was around the other man.
“What?” Seifer cocked his head to the side, seeing Squall eying him. Why was he staring at him for? That made him frown. He hated being started at, it made him feel like he was being criticized. He crossed his arms over his well defined chest, giving the other man a look.
Squall, realizing he was staring, quickly looked away, silently cursing himself for being caught. It was all Seifer's fault, Squall told himself. “Nothing,” he mumbled.
“Then can we continue?”
And they did, gunblades swinging. They were locked again, breathing hard, sparks flying from their blades crashing together. They eyed each other, Seifer smirking at him, Squall just watching Seifer and that fucking sexy smirk of his. Squall had this sudden urge to kiss the other man, but didn't. He couldn't help it, Seifer just looked so good like this. All sweaty, panting for breath, lips parted. It was quite the site to the brunet.
He found his eyes traveling down to Seifer's lips, which just look so kissable. Dammit, Squall mentally scolded himself. Now was not the fucking time to be thinking about shit like that, not with Seifer standing right in front of him, a damn smirk in place, and that didn't help the matter any. He could hear Seifer's panting breaths, and couldn't seem to take his eyes off of Seifer. He frowned and locked eyes with the other man.
Seifer noticed a change in Squally-boys' expression. He knew Squall well, so he could tell when the brunet was inside his head. He knew him well enough to know, at least he'd like to think he knew him by now. But, Squall was not an easy person to read, so those who didn't know him like Seifer did, would never notice Squall's expressions, and what they meant. His gaze was locked with the other mans,' wondering what he should do next.
“Squally-boy? Are you in there?”
Squall snapped out his inner thoughts, taking his eyes off of those tantalizing lips that were tempting. “Sorry.”
“You okay?” he asked, concern on his features.
“Yeah...” Squall bit his lip and shook his head to clear it from unwanted thoughts.
“Hm..” Seifer eyed him quizzically for a few moments. They stood like that for several more moments, Squall's mind wandering again as he looked at the blond man. There was tension in the room suddenly, and the anti social boy felt it. He just wanted nothing more than to kiss Seifer, but he tried to hold himself back, and finding it hard to do so.
He saw Squall leaning over a little more, then looked at him curiously, wondering why the sudden action.“Squall?”Squall didn't know what was happening right now, he just knew that he wanted the man in front of him.
“Seifer!” a voice suddenly called out before anything more could be said or done between the two gunbladers. Squall glared at the intruder, silently cursing him. Squall realized what he'd almost done. He almost had him, dammit. Now, there was suddenly an interruption.. how convenient, Squall gave a mental scoff.
“Chickie?” Seifer blinked, turning to said man, who was now standing by them, grinning. He failed to notice Squall's death glare at the other man.
“Hiya!” Zell grinned wider when Squall shot him a glare, knowing just why said man was shooting him a death glare.
He eyed the brunet for a moment, a silent message between the two. He gave him a look, smirking. A look that said that he he knew he had interrupted something. He had done it intentionally. He shrugged. “Nothin really. Just heard you guys were in here, is all,” he finally responded, smiling at Seifer, which made Squall's glare intensify.
Squall hated being interrupted like that. He was pissed. He was pretty sure that Zell did it on purpose, what with his smirking and all.
All he got in return was a nod.
“Bye, Seifer!” Zell called to him, watching as Seifer waved back.
“See you later, Dincht, Later, Squall!” he called back and headed off, leaving the other two alone with each other.
