"I haven't been entirely honest with either of you," Minfilia addresses you and the Scholar who has newly been introduced to you as Kitsu Kawanami - the robed figure who confronted you in the Bowl of Embers, just as you took down the mighty Ifrit.
"You're telling me?!" Kitsu takes her focus off of you and replaces her gaze on the Elezen Scion leader. "I was searching through Urianger's library and learned that the beast Ifrit had been recently resurrected by the Amalj'aa," Kitsu said, "and seeing as my job so far has been to send these primals back to where they came from, I took it upon myself to do a little recon, up-close and personal." Kitsu looks at you and smirks. "You can imagine my surprise when I found that the beast had been vanquished by this ninja harem-cultist."You sneer at Kitsu for the derogatory comment she made towards your race, not lowering your knives or allowing your focus to drift."Let me start from the beginning," Minfilia lowers herself into her chair slowly, as if buying time to find the words to explain herself. "The Warrior of Light is a blessing that has been bestowed upon many an adventurer by Hyadalaen for thousands of years, so that the world might be kept in balance in the presence of Man, Beast, Ascian, and Dragon."Your arms grow tired, but your knives do not budge."The previous Warrior of Light, of whose name I do not know, was pitched in battle with Midgardsormr, the king of all Dravania. It is said that the battle lasted 12 hours...their powers seemingly matched." Minfilia paused gravely, "But they weren't matched. The Warrior of Light made a wrong move in an otherwise artful display of battle, and Midgardsormr pierced the Warrior's soul, splitting it into three equal parts."Your knives feel heavy in your hands."These parts scattered beyond even Hyadalaen's reach, and were bonded with three different souls, unknown to anyone. My task, as given to me by Hyadalaen, is to find these three Warriors of Light...to train and strengthen them...and to prepare them to join forces to create a power unmatched by anything in this universe."Your knives begin to lower. You notice that the Au Ra's face has not changed one bit since the beginning of the conversation."You see...when the soul was split, a piece of Midgardsormr's power was absorbed into each piece, ultimately making them more powerful than ever before. But with the three pieces split into Wind and Fire, Earth and Water, and Lightning and Ice, they are just a fraction of their full potential. It is only when the three new Warriors of Light come together that the true power of the Blessing of Light will be realized.""So I am one of the three Warriors of Light," Kitsu says."And I am another..." you finish her sentence, dropping your knives to your side."But who is the third?" you and Kitsu say together, only slightly less annoyed than before."That's what I've been trying to figure out." Minfilia lowers her voice in despair, "but it's a big world, and it could be anyone - even a newborn baby. Neither myself nor Hyadalaen are able to sense who has received this accidental blessing, but I do have an idea.Through the various trials I have had you two embark on unbeknownst of each other, I have determined that Xura has the Wind and Fire piece of the soul, and that Kitsu has the Earth and Water piece.""That leaves Lightning and Ice." Kitsu deduces. "Exactly. So while it's a stretch, it's the only lead we have. I want you to face Shiva in the Akh Afah Amphitheatre. Shiva is the powerful primal of ice, and it will not be an easy fight. I suggest you two each get some rest, and be prepared to embark on your journey tomorrow, together."While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
