“It’s a catch and release program,” Reno said innocently.
Reno and ‘innocent’ usually meant anything but.
Tseng rubbed his nose between his fingers. He was really, truly tired of this bullshit. “So you catch…”
“Mice,” Zack supplied helpfully.
“Mice,” Tseng agreed and continued, “And then you...”
“Release them,” Reno said, holding up a bucket of squeaking rodents.
“Where?”
Zack smiled sheepishly. “Um…Hojo’s lab.”
Tseng sighed heavily. “Hence Hojo’s very loud and obnoxious complaints of a rodent problem that no-one else is experiencing.”
“Well, we caught the mice from everyone else’s floors,” Reno stated with an air that said Tseng should have known that already.
“We start on the rats next week.” Zack looked all too happy about that.
“And where will those go?”
Reno smiled brightly. “President Shinra’s apartment.”
He really, really needed a vacation. “Fine. Just…fine. I’ll see you at home later.”
As Tseng walked away, Reno turned to Zack and snerked, “Just wait until he finds out where we put the dead ones…”
