Lightning hadn’t slept that well in a long time. She had woken up to feel not only well-rested but also excited. Excited to spend her first full day with Snow. She had this child-like level of excitement she could feel bubbling in her stomach. She felt ridiculous but welcomed it.
She carefully rolled over to discover Snow had still been sound asleep. She felt his arm resting across her midsection and those silly school-girl butterflies were dancing in her stomach. He was even more at peace than she had ever imagined.
She glanced over his shoulder to check the time and, for the first time in her life, she had slept until almost 10am. Usually she’d be mad at herself for ‘wasting’ such a large portion of her day but not today. Today she was going to allow herself to be more relaxed.
With the sunlight filling her room, she felt herself admiring how gorgeous he actually was. His smooth looking, bare chest and firm muscles were clearly seen now. She didn’t even mind his scruffy face and long, wild hair. In fact, she actually liked it. It made him look more mature. He looked like a man as opposed to the young teenager-like look he used to wear with such pride when they met and the less than desirable appearance he sported back in Yusnaan. It was somewhere in the middle of them. He just looked sexy. The blankets were just below his hips and she couldn’t help but want to see more. She let her mind wander back to the activities of the previous night and realized she hadn’t really gotten the chance to view his naked body while he had seen all over her.
She carefully pulled down the bedding to uncover the rest of him and she was definitely not disappointed. Even when he wasn’t aroused, he was big. She felt her body begin to tingle while she memorized every inch of his perfectly crafted body. She decided she wanted to have her own fun. Just as he had initiated the night before with her.
She moved her fingers like a feather up and down his cock and, within seconds, he was hardening. She laughed to herself as it grew before her. He was in a deep enough sleep where she was able to reposition herself without waking him. She was now laying next to him, her face lined up with his hips. She ran her hand down his sexy abs before kissing her way down to his now fully erect cock.
The tip of her tongue just barely touch the tip before she kissed it and took it in her hand. She looked to see if there was any sign of him waking but there wasn’t.
She licked up his cock and circled her tongue around his sensitive head before wrapping her lips around it. One single, quiet moan escaped him as he slept. She smiled while taking in more of him as her hand massaged the base of his cock in the same motion. She was taking it slowly while she allowed her mouth to lubricate his shaft.
He moaned again. Only this time louder. His head shifted to the other side. His arm moving to rest across his stomach.
She lifted her mouth from his cock and stroked it as her tongue did circles around the tip. As he produced more moans, his eyes slowly opened. She greeted him with a playful smile just before taking him in her mouth again.
“Shit.” He whispered as he watched her head bob between his legs. He couldn’t believe what he had woken up to. He never would have expect her to do something so bold and out of character but he was thoroughly impressed by her. It felt amazing.
His brought his hand to her hair and ran his fingers gently though it. Goosebumps began to cover her entire body. She increased her speed and moaned into him.
“Light…” He moaned. “God, don’t stop.” His toes curled as he felt himself going down her throat. She held herself still, moving her head back and forth. He was in shock watching her take him entirely for a few seconds before she began to bob again, this time faster. “I’m going to come soon, baby.” He told her between gasps.
She watched as his stomach muscles tensed and he grabbed at the sheets. She wanted him to come down her throat. She wanted to taste him.
As his cock continued to hit the back of her throat, his head fell back against the pillow and the moans her produced were quick. He felt her hand massaging his balls and he growled with pleasure.
“Fuck, I-I’m co-mii-nngg!” He grunted. His body shamed with pleasure as he felt himself release down her throat. “Light.” He gasped, lifting his head to watch her slowly slide him out of her mouth and smile.
“Good morning.” She said, wiping her mouth and making her way back up to him.
“You can say that again.” He replied with a relaxed and pleased tone.
She hovered over him with each arm firmly placed on either side of his chest, propping herself up. He met her with a forceful and passionate kiss. His hands began to explore her fully nude body. Gliding up and down her sides and finally stopping on her hips. As their embrace ended, he stared into her eyes and smiled. She was stunning. The sunlight filling the room made her appear as though she was glowing. He could feel butterflies in his stomach. He was happy. He playfully shot up and tossed her on the bed on her back, now hovering over her.
“Snow!” She squealed as she laughed at his actions.
He quickly lips met her neck and moved along her collar bone before he bit her neck gently and laughed. His hand rested upon her stomach as he admired her beautiful body for the first time in full light. It was perfect to him but he quickly noticed a faded scare across her stomach.
“What happened?” He asked, tracing the scar with his finger.
“Eh, just a Reaver. Hope healed me, though.” She told him, caressing his bicep.
The answer just made him worry about her. The reality of her job hit him at that moment which brought painful flashes of their past battles. His brain was on fire and he soon collapsed back on the bed and grabbed his head.
“Snow!” She yelled. “What’s happening?” She asked him, kneeling next to him.
He didn’t say anything. He just howled in pain for what felt like forever. As his body relaxed and the pain subsided, he opened his eyes and tears ran down the sides of his face.
“Snow, talk to me!” She yelled, placing her hand on his chest.
“I’m…okay.” He struggled to get the words out but smiled at her, putting his hand on her thigh. “I’m okay.”
“You are not okay! That was not normal. What aren’t you telling me?” She asked him, her voice full of worry.
“Don’t worry about it, babe. I’ll be okay. Fang and Vanille are on their way here to fix it. They should be here tomorrow.” His voice was raspy. This episode had taken a lot out of him and he could feel it. He wasn’t sure how much more he could take but he wasn’t about to alarm Lightning. Or, anyone else. He chose to keep the painful truth to himself.
“What…Fang and Vanille?” She was confused. She had no idea he had found them.
“Yeah, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. I haven’t had a lot of chances between getting here and…you.” He replied, smiling at her as his hand moved to her hip.
She was relieved with the news that they were okay and excited they were coming here but, she worried about his condition. While his redness on his face had been fading and he was returning to his normal color, his eyes were telling her that he was still in a lot of pain. He tried to hide it with the smile he knew made butterflies flutter in her stomach.
“Maybe Hope can try to heal whatever is going on. He has been getting better with it from what he told me.” Her voice was soft and he could clearly hear her concern. She ran her fingers through his hair as she fought off the urge to cry.
“Light, I’m fine. I have some bad moments but that’s all they are. Moments. They pass.” He informed her.
“But…” He interrupted her by quickly sitting up and returning her to the place she had been before. Kissing her and proving to her that he was still himself. “You should relax.” She said with a laughed as he tickled her sides.
“Hm,” He paused his words before he glided his finger down the middle of her body. “I can think of a way to relax.” He hinted, leaning in to kiss her before his fingers began to lightly massage her.
“Oh!” Feeling the pressure of him pushing his fingers into her while the palm of his hand moved against her clit. Her legs fell open.
“I’ve barely touched you and you’re already so wet.” He said to her softly, a devilish smile across his face.
“I-I’m sorry. I can’t help it.” She admitted, her cheeks turning a faded red color.
“Don’t be sorry.” He pushed deeper into her with three fingers and moved faster. “It’s fucking hot.” He added, moving his mouth near her heaving chest.
“Shit, Snow!” She gasped. She looked down at him and watched him enjoy playing with her breasts for a minute before he took her nipple between his teeth and nibbled it. Her back arched, pushing herself against his face. “I’m…getting close.” She struggled to even get the words out.
He bit down on her nipple again, this time harder. He plunged his fingers faster and harder into her as he felt her juices flow out of her. The palm of his hand firmly rubbing against her clit. She thruster her hips with his movements and, before he could say anything, her entire body was quivering and she was making beautiful sounds.
“I love making you come.” He boasted, removing his fingers. He watched her body dance with delayed twitches while she tried to control her breathing.
“You’re definitely good at it.” She laughed.
“Likewise.” He said to her.
He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him.
“We can’t stay in here all day. We should shower and go socialize.” She told him. The truth was, she didn’t want to leave her room. She wanted nothing more than to spend all of her day with just him.
“You go ahead and shower first.” His tone was almost a whisper.
She rolled over to see him slowly falling back asleep. She got out of bed and headed to the shower leaving him alone.
After her shower, she quietly got dressed and decided to leave him to rest peacefully alone in her room. She knew he was hiding his pain from her and thought maybe sleeping would help. She shut the door behind her and made her way to the patio.
Hope, Sazh and Dajh were all awake. Dajh was playing in the pool while the other two men sat and talked. She needed to tell them what happened. Maybe they could offer some sort of solution.
“Hey, Light!” Sazh greeted her. “We didn’t think we’d see you today. Where’s Snow? Did you wear him out?” He joked.
Hope laughed at his questions, motioning for her to join them. He noticed her expression and quickly turned serious.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Snow. He had some sort of…” She paused to think of the best way to describe what she had witnessed. “Headache…a little while ago. Everything was fine and we were talking one minute and the next…he was screaming in pain.”
“Again?” Hope asked. Remembering what happened the night he found him. “I’ve seen him go through that before but it didn’t seem to last long. He said it had something to do with his memories.”
“They’re not fun.” Sazh added. “When Fang and Vanille found me, I experienced the same thing but, for me at least, they stopped after I found Dajh. I don’t know why.”
“Is...he having them because of...me?” She asked the two, fighting back her tears.
“Light, stop. He had it with me, too. I’ve already asked friends to look into it.” Hope admitted, hoping to provide her with some sort of comfort.
“He said Fang and Vanille were on their way here to fix him. They should be here tomorrow.” She added.
“I guess we should probably stay another day. I owe them an apology.” Sazh said, looking at Hope for approval.
“Of course. Stay as long as you want.” He nodded.
“Just let him rest for now. I’ll have Chef prepare something relaxing for dinner tonight and we’ll all just take it easy.” He grabbed his phone to text Chef.
“We have to go back to work tomorrow, Hope.” She reminded him.
“We have the next few days off. Don’t argue. This is more important.” He ordered.
She wasn’t used to hearing him so assertive. She felt weird about it like she almost wanted to hit him for telling her what to do but she knew he was right. She wasn’t going to leave Snow alone for an entire day of babysitting Hope. It just wasn’t an option.
A few hours had passed before Snow emerged from her room. He had just gotten out of the shower and, though he still looked worn out, he took her breath away. Her heart raced as he made his way through the house looking for them. They had all decided to go swimming earlier to keep Dajh company while also trying to keep their Lightning’s mind off Snow. She quickly climbed out and made her way to the door.
“Good morning, sleepy head.” She said as she stepped into the cold house.
“Hey. Wow.” His eyes nearly bulged out of his head when he turned to see Lightning standing before him in a black, string bikini.
“What?” She asked, furrowing her brows.
“First your special wake up call this morning and now I’m greeted by you looking sexier than ever.” He said as he walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her, grabbing her ass in the process. Lifting her to him and kissing her. She wrapped her legs around him as he carried her to the nearby table and sat her down.
“How are you feeling?” She calmly asked him.
“I’m feeling great.” He answered, kissing her neck as his hand made its way to her wet bikini top and cupped her breast.
“Snow, I’m serious.” She said softly as she pulled away from him to keep him from being distracted.
“Light, I’m okay. I told you that earlier. I just have to make it to tomorrow. I texted the girls and told them to come here instead of the motel. That’s okay, right?” He asked, his hands now around her waist.
“Of course. They’re part of our family. They’re always welcome here but,” She brought her hands to his face. “I need to know what’s going on. Please don’t hide things from me. No matter what they are. Okay?”
“Alright. I’ll be honest. I still have a headache. It rarely stops, to be completely truthful.” He sighed, his eyes wandering around the room.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” She was frustrated with him as she hated secrets.
“I didn’t want you to look at me the way you’re looking at me right now.” He sat down I’m a chair next to her and shook his head.
“What? How am I looking at you any differently than I did yesterday?” She crossed her arms.
“Yesterday your eyes were full of excitement and happiness. Even…desire. Like I was the sexiest man alive. Now,” He paused. “You’re looking at me and I can tell the only thing on your mind is maybe losing me again. Like, I’m broken.”
“Hey,” She scooted closer to him. “I’m still looking at you the same as I was and, yes, I am worried but can you blame me? Look at everything we’ve gone through. I’m going to worry. It’s what I do.”
“I know but,” He pulled her down to his lap. “I don’t want you to think I’m weak.”
“I’ll never think that. You’re the strongest, most annoyingly stubborn man I’ve ever known.” She admitted with a smile. “But you’re my man and I love you.”
Hearing her claim him sent shivers down his spine. He squeezed her tighter and kissed her.
“I’m your man, huh? Do I get a say in this?” He teased.
“No and if you think I’m sharing you, you have another thing coming. You’re mine.” She kissed him again.
“I guess I can settle for you.” He said, again, teasing her.
“Hey!” She yelled, punching him hard in the shoulder.
“Ow!” He cried. “I guess I kind of deserve that.” He flashed her a half smile.
“You did. Wanna go swimming?” She asked. “There are extra swim shorts in the pool house.”
“Sure. Let’s go.” He agreed.
“Snow, remember. We’re together now. Please don’t keep secrets from me. No matter how scary things seem…we will face them together. Like we always do.” She took his hand and led him to the pool house entry that was just off the kitchen.
“Deal. Now, let’s go enjoy the sun with our friends.” He walked over to the blue swim shorts that were laying on the table in front of the couch and quickly got undressed.
Lightning laughed at how carefree he was about getting naked. Anyone could have seen him but he didn’t care. She was also silently enjoying the show.
As the day grew later and everyone started to wind down from the hours they spent goofing off in the pool while enjoying their reunion, Lightning laid out in her favorite lounge chair and watched the guys chase Dajh around the various obstacles that floated around them. Her heart was full. She loved to see everyone so happy and full of life.
The smell of food started to drift from the kitchen where Chef was preparing their dinner. She soon found Hope sitting in the chair next to her. He grabbed a towel and started to dry himself off.
“Hey, Light. You okay?” He asked.
“Yeah. Why do you ask?” She asked as she raised an eyebrow.
“You just look like you’re not and I know you have this thing about not talking about stuff.” He replied. His voice went from casual to concerned.
“I’m just worried about Snow but he says Fang and Vanille are on their way here to fix him and not to worry about it. I’m trying not to but,” She sighed. “I can’t help but think about everything we’ve been through so far. I just can’t go help but feel like it’s going to get worse before it gets better.”
“Fang and Vanille? They’re coming here? What?” His voice was a mixture of excitement and confusion.
“I guess so.” She shrugged. “That’s okay, right?” She asked.
“Y-yes, of course. I just…I need to prepare for more guests. I need to make sure Fang’s room is ready for her and that Vanille’s is…” He trailed off, his eyes seemed distant to Light. Like he was lost in secret thought that young men his age often have.
“Ha, so you do have a thing for her! I knew it!” Lightning teased him about it before but he would just deflect when the topic was brought up. She watched as he nervously looked around before answering.
“What? I didn’t say that. I was just thinking. We’re running out of rooms.” He laughed nervously as he fixed his wet hair.
“You could always set her up in your room.” She winked.
“Lightning, stop. I’m not a hormone driven pig.” He started to get slightly defensive. Lightning knew she needed to back off. He almost never used her full name.
“Okay, okay. I’m sorry. We will figure it out when they get here. We still have like four extra rooms. We just might have to empty a couple out. You have a lot of shit.” She told him with a laugh.
“So, do you think they will be able to help him?” He asked, clearly changing the subject.
“Well, Vanille was great at healing magic so I can only hope she has fully regained her knowledge and can repair whatever damage. If she can’t…” Her voice grew softer with worry.
“Hey, we talked about this. Don’t let the darkness get to you. We don’t know what’s going to happen and, no matter what, we will figure it out if she can’t. We have won many battles together and this won’t be the one that defeats us." He said confidently. Hope could tell she was worried. Her eyes barely left him the entire day like she was waiting for something to happen.
“Dinner is served!” Chef called out the sliding glass door that led from the kitchen to the pool area.
“Food!” Snow and Sazh yelled in excitement in unison making everyone laugh.
Lightning and Hope stood up from their seats and headed for the outdoor dining area. Sazh chased Dajh to the table and Hope soon ran off to join them. Snow ran up behind Lightning and wrapped his wet arms around her waist from behind, lightly kissing her shoulder. She laughed and placed her hands on his.
“What’s for dinner?” He asked.
“I think Chef made burgers but I’m not sure. Hungry?” She asked while laughing at his growling stomach.
“I’m hungry for a few things.” He replied. His voice was heavy with desire for both the food and her.
“Stooop. Not in front of everyone.” She laughed nervously as she felt his hand brush against her breast.
“I can’t help myself. You’re just so…delicious.” He whispered into her ear before seductively sucking it.
“Get a room!” Sazh yelled as Chef removed their plates from his serving trolley and placed them on the table.
Lightning laughed nervously as she wiggled out of his grasp. She wasn’t a huge fan of public displays of affection. Especially not in front of her friends. It wasn’t because she was embarrassed by Snow or the idea of them being together publicly. It was because, to her, it exposed her biggest weakness. The more she allowed her sturdy walls of protection that she spent most of her life building fall around her, the easier it was for people to see how totally broken she’d be if anything happened to him. Instead of the strong and ready for danger woman they all met her as. She had never let anyone get as close to her heart as Snow was. It was very new to her.
After dinner, they all went inside. It was beginning to get late and Dajh was definitely ready for bed. He was nearly falling asleep at the table after he ate. Sazh immediately followed him to his room. Hope hurried to get changed into his pajamas and Lightning and Snow headed off to her room to do the same.
“Babe,” Snow called to Lightning from the bathroom. “Can you do me a favor and grab me the sweat pants out of my bag? I think Luke said he sat it at the front door.”
“Sure.” She headed to the door and found it sitting exactly where Luke said it would be. Hope sent him to the motel to gather Snow’s things earlier in the day. He didn’t want Snow going back there. Or anyone else, for that matter. He hated that part of town. He wanted to keep everyone close. “Here.” She knocked. She stood outside of the door patiently.
“Seriously? Just come in.” He laughed as he turned on the shower.
She opened the door and handed him his pants. He was standing before her with her towel wrapped around his waist. He was turned away from her checking the temperature of the water.
“Just set them on the sink. Thank you, baby.” He said. He turned around and gave her a quick smile before removing the towel and stepping in.
She watched him closely. She was in awe over how perfect he was. Even his bare ass was attractive. She sighed quietly trying to gather herself.
“Wanna join me?” He asked with a playful grin.
“I can’t. I have to go over some work schedule things with Hope but,” She eyed him from top to bottom and smiled at him. “I don’t hate the view.”
“It okay gets better when you’re closer.” He tried to convince her to join him. “You don’t even have to take that sexy bathing suit off.”
She rolled her eyes and laughed at him as she turned to leave him to his shower. His eyes didn’t leave her ass. He bit his lip while he watched her leave noticing the small jiggles it made with every step she took.
“I’ll be back when we’re done.” She said, shutting the door behind her.
He groaned to himself. His body was aching for her touch already. Even though they had an excellent and exciting morning together, he wanted more. He felt himself getting aroused from the thoughts of the last twenty-four hours but it wasn’t just from their intimate moments. The way she looked at him that morning as the sun bounced off her flawless skin and other innocent moments like that so fed his arousal. He was in love. Real love. He smiled as he admitted it to himself. He had loved other women in his past, especially Serah but it was a different kind of love. It was young, naïve love. While he would never regret the time he spent with Serah, he ached for his future with Lightning.
Snow stood under the hot water and imagined what their lives might be like together. Would he move to the city or would she move to the beach? Would she be willing to leave Hope? Could be bare leaving his family behind for her? All these thoughts brought on a shock of pain through his head, radiating down his neck. He clenched his jaw and leaned against the shower walls as he waited for it to subside.
This pain wasn’t as bad as the one he felt that morning but it was close only this time, he noticed blood running down his chest. He quickly ended his shower and looked in the mirror. He had a small stream of blood coming from his nose and applied toilet paper. He was now starting to worry. He sat on the edge of the tub waiting for it to end. Not just the blood but also the pain.
After a few minutes, both were gone. He flushed any evidence of his bloody nose and put his sweat pants on before leaving the bathroom. He started to feel lightheaded so he decided, instead of going to look for Lightning, he was just going to lay down. Even with his eyes closed, the room was spinning.
All he could do was silently beg Fang and Vanille to hurry. The sight of blood only made him panic at the thought of what the next episode may bring.
As time passed, Lightning had returned to her room to find Snow half naked and sleeping. She loved to see him so calm and comfortable but, deep down, she knew his body was fighting against itself. Though he had been all smiles and laughs in front of everyone, she couldn’t imagine how difficult it was for him to hide what he was feeling so easily. He was stronger than she was and, for her to admit that to herself, it made her heart ache.
She removed the baggy black zip up hoody she had put on over her nearly see through white tank top that she had carefully chosen to wear while Snow was in the shower. She didn’t want to pressure him into more intimacy but she had wanted it to be clear to him that, if he wanted to, she was willing. She wasn’t the best at initiating such actions so she put on one of the more revealing things she had. Her nipples, when hard, would be painfully obvious to him. The pants she was wearing were just a pair of baggy fleece pajama pants that she had chosen to wear as to not bring attention to herself while discussing work with Hope. At least, with the hoodie on, she could hide her body from him.
She slowly crawled into bed with him and put her arm around his waist. His back was to her but she didn’t mind. She loved every side of him. She cuddled up next to him kissed the area between his shoulder blades just to let him know she was there. His lack of response told her he was in a deep sleep so she pressed her forehead against him and just enjoyed his scent and the feel of his body against hers.
“I love you so much, Snow.” She whispered. Her voice was shaking with fear as she fought back tears. “Please, don’t leave me.”
He didn’t say anything. He heard her words and just fit his fingers between hers. He was too tired to respond. He just wanted her to know that he heard them. She didn’t say anything else. She kissed his shoulder one more time before giving into the sleep she had avoiding for hours.
