It was getting awfully crowded in the den.

It had only been a few weeks since the Turks moved in, but to Sephiroth it felt more like an eternity. Tseng wasn’t really an issue. The other alpha was fairly quiet and only asserted himself when needed. It was the lower ranks that ground on Sephiroth’s nerves with their constant challenging of everything.

And really, how many times could he beat the crap out of Reno before it became monotonous?

“You try that again,” Sephiroth growled and shook the redhead like a ragdoll, “and I’ll neuter your sorry ass.” He flung Reno across the room. The Turk hit the wall and slid down with a thump. “And you’re paying to get the drywall fixed. Again.”

Reno shook himself to remove the clinging bits of crumbled drywall dust. “Whatever you say, yo.” His red ears, brighter red even than Genesis’, were perked forward in excitement and not the least bit cowed. Zack giggled from his own dent in the wall where Sephiroth had thrown him before turning on Reno.

Reno’s ears flattened playfully and he mock-hissed at Zack. Zack barked back before tackling the redhead.

Sephiroth shook his head. At least Zack had another pack-mate to play with (even if it was a cat) now that Cloud had decided that he was too mature to play like a puppy and he had to hang out with the adults. Although, Sephiroth couldn’t help but note Cloud was regularly seen romping with the other two.

Sephiroth sighed with exasperation and stormed out of the living room to find some-place quiet. Maybe he could seek some reprieve in the den. The female aspects of the pack and pride (although Genesis and Cloud would have balked at being called female) had made the room their headquarters, and it was usually fairly quiet there. That, and Reno wouldn’t enter the inner sanctum any time soon after tangling with the very pissed Genesis after the redhead had been inappropriately groped.

Genesis, Cloud, Aeris, Elena, and Cissnei were all crowded into a large pile in a nest of blankets. It looked like a warm, comfortable pile of bodies that he wouldn’t mind curling up with.

Until he smelled the nail polish.

He turned tail and ran to the home office before he could be tackled and painted like Zack. The office contained Angeal, steadfastly ignoring everything while working on his computer. Tseng was doing the same on his laptop. Rude was pouring over paper work, and it looked like he had a long way to go by the pile he was taking pages off of. The area was quiet. Blessedly quiet.

The silver wolf didn’t even bother looking for a place to sit. There weren’t any seats available anymore. He plopped down on the floor and sprawled out as far as could go. Sighing in bliss, Sephiroth soaked in the silence.

Until an uproarious cacophony heralded from the bedroom and the stampeding of many sets of feet. The office was immediately filled with the hissing, screaming, barking and yowling of very angry females followed by Zack and Reno wielding water guns.

Definitely too crowded.
