Chapter Five
Chapter Five
Squall and Laguna walked the hallway to the dorms, some students watched them. 'I feel hot.' Squall thought and almost jumped when some students passed them. He looked behind them to make sure they weren't being followed. 'Feels like I'm going to have a heart attack.' Squall felt his chest start to hurt and his heart speeding up.
"Come one, let's go." Squall said, walking faster. "We're almost there Squall." Laguna said, trying to catch up. "I have to get in." Squall panted, feeling dizzy and they arrived at his room. When they entered his friends grinned. "Welcome back Squall!" Selphie bounced. "Yeah." Squall said and Irvine went to pat him on the shoulder.
Squall pulled away and their smiles faultered a fraction. "Well we stocked up your place with food and stuff." Irvine said. "We tried to get things you like." Zell said. "Also don't worry about work. Just take off as long as you want." Quistis said. "Cid himself said it." Rinoa smiled and Squall nodded.
"Okay, how about we leave Squall for a bit?" Kiros said and Ward agreed. "But he just got here." Selphie whined and Laguna seen a strange look in Squall's eyes. "Yeah, we should let him get settled back in." Laguna said. "If Squall wants company, he'll invite someone." He said and his friends finally nodded.
"See you later Squall." They said and walked out. As Laguna went past, Squall nodded. "Thanks." Squall said. "It's okay. I'll be in around town for awhile. If you need me for anything, I'll be at the Hotel." Laguna said with a smile and left. Squall quickly locked the door, then checked all the windows. Finally he looked in all the rooms, and closets to make sure no one was hiding.
Finally Squall sat down on his couch and stared at a wall. He rubbed his temples with a sigh and turned on the TV, hoping that would distract his thoughts. About 20 minutes later, he sighed again and shut it off. 'I can't seem to focus on anything.' He thought and grabbed the bottle of ani-depression medicine.
"Celexa huh." He said and put it back down. Squall looked around the room, then went through his dorm again. He checked the windows and made sure again that no one was there. "I need a bath." He got some fresh cloths and entered the bathroom, locking the door behind him. He ran the tub full of hot water and grabbed a scrub brush plus body gel.
He shut it off and undressed, then quickly got into the tub. 'I need to get clean. Couldn't even get a bath at the hospital.' Squall scrubbed his body raw and finally scrubbed his hair. The water was tinted pink and he finally got out of the tub. 'At least I smell like myself now.' He thought and dried off.
Squall felt hands on his shoulders and he gasped, looking in the mirror. Seifer stared back and Squall whirled around. No one was there and his stomach lurched. Quickly lifting the lid of the toilet, he threw up all that was in his stomach. He could feel the sensation of his wrists still bound and rubbed them as if to get rid of the feeling.
Squall flushed the toilet and stood up. He rinsed his mouth with water and sighed. 'Damn I'm such a weakling. First I let this happen, and now I can't forget it. Maybe that means I liked it.' He thought. 'No! I didn't like it. I don't know what I'm thinking about.' He opened the medicine cabinet and took a few aspirins for his forming headache. 'Maybe I should lay down.'
He went through the dorm one last time, looking it over then crawled into bed and laid with a pillow over the top of his head. With a groan he closed his eyes and tried thinking of different objects, colors to soothe his nerves.
In the Quad Laguna sighed, Kiros and Ward by his side. "Shouldn't we tell Ellone?" Kiros asked. "Eventually, but not right now." Laguna said. "I should stay here, in the Garden instead of some Hotel or Motel or whatever the hell it is." He said and Ward patted his shoulder, signing something.
"Ward's right. Everything will pan out. Just give it time." Kiros said. "But Squall refuses to see the psychiatrist! He won't get better if he doesn't see someone about it. It'll just eat him up inside." Laguna groaned and rubbed his forehead. "It's tough being a grown up Laguna. You finally made it." Kiros said and Laguna glared at him. "That's not funny." He said. "I'm sorry. It was a stupid joke.'' Kiros apologized.
"Nah. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that." Laguna said. "Yeah, this has everyone high strung. It's even worst on Squall." Kiros said and they went silent, thinking.
