FF8 Presents The Thing

It is morning now. They all look down at the remains with unease. It looked like several chocobo merged into one. The larger mass resembles Bob the chocobo. Selphie is in open shock. Laguna tries to comfort her the best he can. Zell punches the floor as this was just too much for him. Seifer presses his knee against Zell’s back. This causes them to make eye contact and an understanding seems to go between them. Raijin just shakes his head. Fujin just doesn’t linger. Quistis is also very disturbed by this sight as images of Rinoa’s twisted form come to mind. Dr. Kadowaki is not there as she was trying to save the lives of three wounded chocobo.

Laguna, “ Its okay.. the monster is dead. Its all over.”

Selphie sniffles and smiles a childish smile at him, “ I know. Seifer and Ward cooked it, extra crispy.”

Laguna, “ Yeah! And you think my cooking is bad.”

Selphie gives him some giggles at his joke knowing he is trying to cheer her up, “ Thanks!”

Squall and Seifer go to look over some maps. After a while, Squall finds what they are looking for.

Squall, “ This is where they spent alot of time.”

Kiros pokes his head into the room, “ Its pretty nasty out there, Squall. Thirty five knot winds at least.”

Seifer, “ I’m going out there anyway.”

Squall wishes him this, “ Good luck.”

Squall joins Raijin who had the job of moving the chocobo corpses into the infirmary.

Raijin, “ I think this was the Galbadian Chocobo, ya know?”

Zell, “ NO way that was even a normal Chocobo!”

Raijin, “ That tape we were shown this morning.. ya know, it was confusing.”

Squall, “ Yes.. That is why he is going out there to check the site out himself.”

Raijin, “ I hope he doesn’t crash causes its very windy out there, ya know.”

Fujin and Raijin have the bodies of the dogs laid out in the infirmary. Dr. Kadowaki is already looking at slides taken from the once Chocobo Bob. Dr. Kadowaki watches as the the cells still seem to be alive.

Not long before Seifer is in the air with Kiros and Laguna. The skies are clear but the winds were making controlling the shopper hard. Kiros keeps track of the map as Laguna still has lousy direction skills. The glacial floor still has a enormous black shape inside it. They land and walk over to the hole. Inside they can see charred and mangled blanketed metal.

Laguna, “ ... Wow... “

They climb down into the wreckage. All that is left is the skeletal structure of a craft. It seems the structure was blown up. Kiros examines some pierces of metal. Laguna spots something interesting and walks over to it.

Kiros, “Magnesium and something else I can’t identify. Shame they had to go blow it up.”

Seifer, “ Who made this?”

Kiros, “ No one from this planet, that's for sure.”

Kiros tests the ice in a small hand held machine. “ Besides this says the craft has been here for over a hundred thousand years. “

Laguna, “ Hey guys, look at this!” Laguna is standing next to a hole that has been perfectly cut. But what was in the ice?
