Storm Cloud Smiles
Flora_Winters Disclaimer: I do not own Final Fantasy VII or Crisis Core and I’m not making any money here either. I do believe Final Fantasy VII is one of the best video games ever to me made and anyone who has the balls to disagree with the AWESOME that is ME will be all smitey-smoted by my lovely Knights of the Round. Summary: Sometimes the dead simply do not stay where he thought he didn’t bury them. A ghost story which haunts windswept halls and beyond time. MM, Strong Language, Violence, Cloud-Zack, Cloud-Genesis, Cloud-Sephiroth, Cloud-Vincent, Genesis-Sephiroth Chapter Eight Violet tendrils of lightning flashed on the other side of the windowpane, followed by a low rumble of distant thunder as Cloud ever so silently and swiftly rose up and got out of bed. The cornflower colored sheet hissed like a coiling serpent as it slid across his smooth white flesh. He gazed down at his sleeping lover and smiled with blood red lips. The herb he had slipped into Zack’s drink would surely keep him asleep until after the rising of the sun. He leaned his head down and over, kissing Zack on the lips and quickly retreated before he did something naughty. He picked his clothes up off the back of the wooden chair and walked like a pale phantom into the bathroom. He closed the door and began to dress himself. The storm that was quickly brewing outside the windows would give him perfect cover. Darkness and all its shadows were his friends. He walked back out and took one more look at Zack’s sleeping form before he exited the room. He made his way down the silent hallway, put his ear right up to Sephiroth’s door and he could instantly hear the general’s snoring. It looked like the prick had drunk his bubbly, too. Cloud suddenly pursed his lips. It would be so damn easy to just stroll right on in and gut him like a pig. In fact, he could string him up by his slippery intestines and bathe in his crimson warmth as each red drop dripped down on him. He shook his head, walking over to Steff and Rik’s door. The two of them were snoring something terrible. He was in the clear. He rushed back into his room, closed the door, picked up his leather boots, took another look at Zack who had not moved an inch and went into the bathroom once more. He locked the door behind him this time, slipped his feet into his boots, went over to the window and opened it up to the humid night. He crawled out onto the narrow ledge and jumped down to the pavement below, landing on his feet with feline grace. It would be a cinch to climb back up. Like a dark shadow, he took off running as pink lightning crackled and hissed in the black sky above. The clouds were rolling and the thunder was ever rumbling. Perhaps, if he was lucky, the people would sleep through the explosion, thinking it was only the thunder. Well, if not, they were too far away to do anything about it. The Shin-Ra Mansion was still smoking as he made his way around what was left of the burned out and crumbling structure. He came to a swift stop when he spotted Vincent come walking out of the moving darkness. The crimson eyed man turned to look at him with arms folded across his chest. “Are you ready, Cloud?” He asked in a near silent voice. Cloud nodded his head, stepping right up to him. Blowing up the reactor would really delay the whole Sephiroth going crazy scenario, if not stop it all together. Thunder rumbled like it would soon herald in the rain. It echoed all around the two of them. Vincent’s ever flowing red cloak seemed to split right down its center, transforming into large crimson bat-like wings. They reminded Cloud more of a dragon though. He put his arms around the taller man’s neck and Vincent lifted him up into his strong arms. It made Cloud feel a little funny, but flying was the quickest way to get up the mountain and back before the sun even thought about rising. “Ready?” Vincent asked once more, flapping his wings. “I am,” Cloud said and the night air whispered all around him as he soared with Vincent up into the swirling black clouds. It really was amazing. He felt as though he could reach out and grab hold of some violent-green lightning by its hissing tail and throw it down to earth. “Did we ever do this?” Vincent asked, tightening his hold on him. “Flying like this that is…” “Not like this,” Cloud answered, looking all around with wonder. He was literally in the storm. It was so fucking cool. “What is it like knowing you have the power to fly wherever and anywhere you want?” Cloud asked him. “Don’t you know?” Vincent asked with a cocked brow. Cloud shook his head, holding on tighter as the wind got a little rough. “I never asked. “Freeing,” Vincent answered, lowering his eyes. “And lonely…” “I’m sorry,” Cloud whispered into his ear. “Is that it?” Vincent asked, spinning about in the air, causing Cloud to look down. The reactor loomed like an open sore in the mountain side. It was a cancer that needed to be burned away. “That is her home,” he answered. Vincent hissed under his breath. “Jenova…” “I’m going to put this on her forehead,” Cloud said, pulling out a wonderful little device that would soon make a large boom. “And send her straight to Hell.” “What is more dangerous than a man who has nothing to lose?” Vincent asked, descending with incredible speed. Cloud could only grin as the wind rushed and roared all about him. “A man who has it all to lose.” Vincent chuckled. A very rare occurrence indeed. “Shin-Ra is doomed.” “And they don’t even know it,” Cloud snorted, laughing right along with him. ~OOOOO~ Cloud soon found himself standing before the metal door which the Mother of Abominations was chilling behind. He could feel her presence oozing and he mocked her in her recognized helplessness. She was just a rotting corpse and would soon not even be that. She would soon be nothing at all. He could hear her unintelligible screaming and her shouts. He could see the haunting echoes of Zack being thrown through the air and Tifa being struck down by Sephiroth’s bloody sword. He was standing right in the exact place Sephiroth had stood, watching Tifa fall and roll down the steps. A shadow of Zack was just below. He was trying to get up, but his body was too broken for it. “You are one of the many reasons I was left so alone,” he spoke, spinning around, punching the door with all his anger. It rattled and whined under his rage. “I fucking hate you, you goddamned bitch!” He punched the door again and again. The metal screamed as it dented. “You’re so fucking helpless!” He laughed as the tears streamed from his wide blue eyes. “Just like Zack was in his final moments…before…” He dug his fingers deep into the screaming metal and pulled with all his might. It came off its large metal hinges and he sent it flying over his head and through the air. It landed with a violent crash at the bottom of the steps as a cold mist enveloped him. His fingers were bleeding again, but he didn’t give a damn. He had a job to do. He was going to blow this bitch to pieces. “Hello, Mommy,” he said, walking through the mist like a white ghost. “Isn’t that what we, your children call you?” Her voice was so loud in his skull. She was screaming at him, demanding him to submit to her will. “What’s that?” He asked in mock hurt, wrapping his arms around himself as if cold. “Do you not love me, Mommy?” He slowly walked right up to her, smiling with cruel blue eyes. They were glowing with molten mercilessness. “Scream all you like, cunt,” he cooed, wrapping his arms around her slender neck. “No one can save you from me.” He placed a warm kiss of death upon her left cheek and gently attached the explosive device to her forehead. He pulled away with a white grin. “Cloud!” Vincent called to him from outside the deepfreeze. “I’ve placed all the explosives where you told me to.” Cloud turned from Jenova and wiped the falling tears from his face, ignoring the bitch’s screams of rage. “No longer will Shin-Ra fuck with the lives of innocent people,” he said, walking from the room to join Vincent. “And no longer will her voice haunt me in the darkness.” The two of them walked out of the reactor and Vincent turned, took Cloud into his arms, carrying him to a safe distance. Thunder echoed as their feet touched the rocky ground. “Are you ready?” Cloud asked. Vincent nodded. His eyes glowed red with hunger. Cloud smiled and it was twisted as he pressed his thumb down on the little green button. Explosion after explosion went off as fire danced its way up into the sky. Jenova’s voice was silenced, but he had to make sure. “Stand back,” Cloud ordered Vincent as smoke billowed up into the sky like some big black monster. He held out his hands and the Odin Materia floated between his extended palms, glowing with an angry blackish-red light. His eyes shimmered blue and icy as he took a deep breath, gathering his strength. “Odin! Come forth!” His voice growled along with the deep thunder as an even deeper and blacker smoke filled the mountain air. “I summon you from beyond the Voids of darkness! Ride forth and smite this abomination from the face of the earth!” The orb flashed with brilliant radiance and Vincent’s eyes widened as they witnessed a god descend from a bleeding sky and eradicate the reactor and all that was within. A giant spear forged from the heart of lightning was hurled from the dark rider’s massive hand. The explosion was blinding and Cloud fell to his knees, trembling. He was covered in sweat. Odin vanished and the reactor was an orange mushroom cloud rising into the air. Charred debris fell all around the two of them. Cloud wondered what the townsfolk could be thinking right now. He wondered if any of them had even been wakened to see. “Are you all right?” Vincent asked, going down on one knee beside Cloud, putting an arm around him. “I’m fine,” Cloud said, wiping the seat from his smooth brow. “I just…I need to rest.” “Are you sure?” Vincent asked. “You are really pale, Cloud.” He chuckled. “Well, aren’t you the pot calling the kettle black?” “Can you stand?” Vincent asked, helping him. Cloud managed to do so. He gazed out at the destroyed reactor in the distance with triumph shimmering in his eyes. Jenova was no more. All that was left of the reactor was a massive crater. There was nothing else. Not even twisted or melted metal was left. Odin had annihilated any traces of what had once been there. The place had been burned completely away. Purified of filth. “Ding-dong,” he said, smiling as Vincent helped him to lean against him. “The fucking bitch is dead.” ~OOOOO~ Sephiroth’s brilliant green eyes snapped open and he sat up on his rumpled bed in silent wonder. He gazed around his quiet bedroom, feeling a sudden sense of peace rush over him. It caused him to tingle from the very top of his head down to the tips of his wiggling toes. He smiled and didn’t know why he was smiling. He lied back down and gazed up at the ceiling in wonder. Am I bipolar? For some odd reason, he wanted to speak to Cloud. ~OOOOO~ A knock came at the bathroom door and Cloud looked up from where he was in the warm water. The door opened and Zack came trudging inside. All he had on were his shorts. “Morning,” he yawned rather loudly, walking over to take a piss in the toilet. Cloud rolled his eyes. “That is SO sexy.” Zack smacked his lips, giving his rod a good shaking. “Want me to wash your back?” Cloud nodded his head. He never could do it by himself. “You’re up awfully early,” Zack said, washing his hands in the sink. He did have some manners. “I know,” Cloud said, watching him with hungry eyes. “Did I wake you up?” Zack shook his head, giving him a goofy grin. “I honestly think you may have actually fucked me unconscious last night. All I can remember is shooting a real bad load and then…well, here I am. I’ve not slept that good in a long time. I’m going to let you top more often.” Cloud held up both his arms, flexing his sculpted muscles. “I am god.” “I’m your faithful servant,” Zack snorted. “And you’re all mine.” “Yes I am,” Cloud said, holding out the rag for Zack to take. He was careful not to let Zack see his fingers. He had tried to patch them up the best he could. “I had a dream,” Zack said, taking the rag from him, kneeling down on the floor behind him. “Oh,” Cloud said, closing his eyes as Zack rubbed his back. “Do tell.” “You were standing all alone on this snow covered hill in the silver moonlight. The snow was shimmering like billions of tiny crystals under your naked feet. I’ve never seen snow so beautiful or a landscape so cold. You looked as if you were made of ice.” Cloud closed his eyes. He could vision it in his mind. “You started walking away and rose petals began to fall like red rain.” Cloud’s eyes opened and he turned his head around to look at him. “It was a beautiful dream,” Zack said, gently rubbing the wet rag across the back of his neck. “And it was scary. I called out to you, but you didn’t hear me. I ran after you but I couldn’t catch up.” Cloud turned all the way around in the tub, causing Zack to drop the rag into the water with a plop. Cloud rested on his knees, looking at the bigger man. “I love you.” “Is something wrong?” Zack asked, lowering his eyes. “I have this feeling…” Cloud reached out, gently cupping a smooth cheek. “Everything is fine, Zack. It was a lie, but it was a comforting lie. Everything would be fine. Zack placed his larger hand on top of Cloud’s and brought the smaller man’s smooth white hand to his lips, placing a warm kiss on it. “I love you, too.” Cloud smiled, blushing pastel pink. It was always the sweet, little things Zack did. “I’m sorry about my actions yesterday. I didn’t mean to get you in trouble with Sephiroth. How are those windows coming along?” “Screw the windows,” Zack said, letting go of his hand. “You need to tell me when you’re feeling stressed, dummy.” Cloud lowered his head. “I promise.” Was that a lie, too? “And no more speaking to Sephiroth like a crazy person,” Zack said, poking him on the nose with the tip of his index finger. “I refuse to have to kiss you through the loony bars.” Cloud made a face and shrugged his naked shoulders in the end. He would try and do his best if that would make Zack happy. “I’ll…try.” “That is all I ask,” Zack said, rising to his feet. “Now, can we heat this water back up? I want in there with you.” Cloud’s eyes lit up and he made a tiny fireball in the palm of his hand. Before Zack could remove his shorts, the water was steamy and Cloud was instantly even more beautiful than ever before. ~To Be Continued… Please review and tell me what you think. ~FloraWhile AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
