Garnet stood up from her seat; she couldn’t believe her
eyes. Could it really be him? She raced for the doorway only to be stopped
by Steiner and Beatrix. She looked at
them sadly, but they both smiled at her.
They opened the doors for her, and Garnet raced down the hallway.
She ran out into the courtyard and pushed her way through
the crowd. Suddenly, her necklace
snapped and fell to the ground.
Garnet turned to look behind her where the jewel had
fallen. She had to choose- either the
crystal or him. Garnet left the crystal
behind and ran for the stage, throwing off her crown on the way. Her eyes fixed onto the young man she had
longed to see again. Garnet launched
herself into his arms, and he happily wrapped her in his embrace.
“Dagger…” he said softly as she buried her face in his
chest.
“Zidane!” she cried and pounded her fist against his
chest. “Please don’t ever leave me like
that again!”
“Never again,” Zidane replied at he stroked her long, black
hair. He’d missed her so much! How could he even think about leaving her
again?
Garnet lifted her head and gazed up into his kind eyes. Tears streamed down her cheeks, but she
didn’t care.
Zidane passed his hand over her delicate cheeks and wiped
away her tears. Garnet held his hand
against her face and smiled at the strength that she felt from him.
“Zidane…I…I…I didn’t think you’d come back!” Garnet cried.
“I made you a promise, remember,” he replied. Garnet wrapped her arms around his neck and
pulled herself close to him.
Zidane smiled tenderly at her, and his hands grasped her
tiny waist. He bent and touched his
forehead to hers. He moved closer to
her…each time his face inching towards hers… His eyes locked with hers and time
froze.
“I missed you, Dagger,” Zidane said softly but firmly.
“I missed you too, Zidane,” Garnet replied just as their
lips touched to seal their pronouncement.
They didn’t care that the whole kingdom was watching them; this was
their moment; and nothing could change that.
Neither of them cared what other people would think; they’d wasted far
too much time already.
Garnet could feel Zidane’s arms wrap around her, and she
tightened her hold on his neck.
Zidane held her tightly as he tasted her lips again and
again. She reminded him of a rose in
full bloom- soft and vibrant with an enticing aroma.
The couple broke apart breathless, and Zidane gave her a
warm smile. Garnet returned his smile
and hugged him tightly. To her
surprise, Zidane detached her arms from his neck, but he held up his hand when
she gave him a questioning look.
Garnet was confused as she watched him jump into the
crowd. The sea of people parted before
him, and Zidane walked into the crowd looking for two specific items. He found them and headed back towards his queen.
Garnet gasped as Zidane emerged from the crowd holding her
crown in one hand and the Falcon Claw in the other. He came up to her and placed her crystal back around her
neck. Next, he set her pearl crown back
into her dark hair and brushed the excess off her lovely face. He took her hand and kneeled before her.
“Zidane?” she gasped as her face flushed. Zidane brought her hand to his face and
kissed it gently, showing respect to her position. His eyes held a loving tenderness, but his lips formed into a
playful smile. You could hear ‘awwws’
coming from everyone in the crowd.
“Oh get up!” Garnet ordered trying hard not to laugh. Zidane stood up and pulled her into his
arms.
“May I kiss the Queen?” he asked playfully. Garnet grinned at him.
“Why are you asking?
You’ll just kiss me anyway,” she retorted.
“You’re right,” Zidane fired back and kissed her
gently. The happy couple finally took
notice of everyone gazing at them and cheering for them at the same time. Zidane put his arm around her shoulders, and
they walked off the stage.
They were greeted by a mass of people, and Zidane clearly
recognized one of them.
“Hey Vivi, how ya been?” he asked his old friend.
“Fine. It’s good to
see you, Zidane,” Vivi replied. Zidane
gazed at the group of black mages behind him.
“Looks like you’ve got quite a family,” he teased. Vivi blushed even though no one could tell.
“Well…I have my ways,” he stuttered. Zidane chuckled softly, and Garnet glared at
him slightly.
“Hey, leave him alone,” she ordered playfully.
“Okay, if you want me to,” Zidane answered her. He reached down and placed his arm behind
her legs.
“Hey!” Garnet gasped as Zidane picked her up. “What are you doing?” Zidane moved close to her ear.
“I’m going to carry my wife back inside her castle,” he said
softly. Garnet blushed bright crimson
as he called her his wife, but he was technically correct. After all, they had gotten married during
their adventures as a way to make it to the Iifa Tree. She was surprised that he still remembered.
“Well, if my loving husband insists, I can’t refuse such an
offer,” Garnet replied sweetly. Zidane
carried her through the crowd and saw each of his old friends- Freya, Regent
Cid, Hilda, Eiko, Quina, and even Amarant.
He smiled at each of them as he carried Garnet back inside the castle.
Zidane carried her up the stairs and was greeted by a
smiling Steiner and Beatrix. Garnet
squirmed in his arms.
“Put me down!” she ordered as her face flushed. Zidane couldn’t help it and chuckled as he set
her back down on her feet. Steiner
extended his hand, and Zidane shook it.
“Welcome back,” he said happily.
“Thanks Steiner,” Zidane replied. He followed Garnet back out onto the balcony, but she stopped
before she sat down.
“Sit down,” Garnet told him. Zidane looked at her in surprise, but she just grinned at
him. Zidane shrugged his shoulders and
sat down in the plush, red chair.
“Hey!” he gasped as Garnet sat on his lap. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Sitting down,” she retorted.
“In my lap?” Zidane chuckled. Garnet smiled at him warmly.
“Yes, in your lap.
Why…do you want me to leave?” she teased. Zidane’s response was to wrap his arms around her waist.
“Never, my sweet Dagger, never,” he said firmly. Garnet smiled and leaned back into his
arms. She felt so safe and at peace
like this. She laid her head down on
his chest, and Zidane brought up one of his hands to stroke her hair. Together, they watched the play draw to its
conclusion. Zidane rested his head on
her soft hair, and Garnet sighed as she relaxed in his arms.
That night, the castle was astir with commotion. There was a ball being held in celebration
for this special time, and everyone was there.
Freya smiled at Sir Fratley as he twirled her around the floor. Quina was busy taste-testing the vast array
of foods that he and the other chefs had prepared. Vivi was attempting to teach the other black mages how to dance,
even though he himself wasn’t very good.
Cid was dancing with Hilda, who kept a close watch to make sure that his
eye didn’t wonder to any other woman in the room.
Garnet sat at her bureau with Beatrix behind her. Beatrix brushed through her hair, but Garnet
couldn’t keep still. She was too happy.
“Your majesty, please be still, or you’ll get knots in your
hair,” Beatrix warned.
“I’m sorry, I’m just happy and excited all at the same
time. I can’t believe he’s back!” she
said happily.
“Zidane?” Beatrix asked with a smile.
“Mmm hmm,” Garnet said with a blush. “I’ve only been away from him for a few
hours and already I miss him. Why do I
feel like that?” Beatrix put the brush
down and touched the young queen’s shoulder.
“It’s simple, your majesty, you can’t stand to be away from
someone you’re in love with,” she said firmly.
Garnet’s eyes widened, and she turned around.
“Wait a minute…I never told him that…” Beatrix cut her off.
“You don’t have too, highness, you two radiate it every time
you’re together. Everybody knows
it…even Steiner. I’m sure that Zidane
can see it in your eyes every time you look at him, and I’m sure you see his
love for you every time he looks at you,” Beatrix explained. Garnet’s blush intensified, and she stared
down at her hands.
“Well…every time he looks at me, I get this funny feeling in
the pit of my stomach, and when…when he kissed me, I felt like I was on
fire. Why do I feel like that?” Garnet
asked. Beatrix couldn’t help it and
chuckled.
“Your majesty…you’ve got it…you’ve got it bad,” she giggled.
“Got what?” Garnet questioned.
“My dear…you’re head over heels in love with him, that’s
what!” Beatrix replied. Garnet looked
at herself in the mirror.
“You know something, Beatrix, I think you’re right,” she
said happily.
“Then tell him, my queen, I’m sure he feels the same way,”
her royal guard said warmly.
“Thank you,” Garnet said softly.
Just then, her door opened, and Eiko burst into the room.
“Hi Garnet,” she said happily. Garnet hugged the little girl.
“Hello Eiko, how come you’re here?” she asked.
“Oh, Zidane sent me down here to see if you were ready or
not,” Eiko answered. Garnet looked at
her a little annoyed.
“Oh, he did…did he?” she asked with her arms crossed. “Well, he doesn’t have to wait for me!” she
fussed. Eiko got a sly smile on her
young face.
“Um Garnet…believe me, after you see the way he’s dressed,
you’ll want him to wait for you,” Eiko quipped.
“What do you mean?” Garnet asked.
“You’ll see…” Eiko teased and dashed out the door. She nearly ran over Steiner on her way out.
“Excuse me, your majesty, it’s time,” he stated.
“Thank you, I’ll be out shortly,” Garnet replied. Steiner nodded in understanding.
“Of course, Captain,” she replied and linked her arm through
his. Garnet smiled at the two of them
as they headed downstairs. She looked
in the mirror one last time to check her appearance. She’d chosen a royal blue ballroom dress for this evening that
had spaghetti straps across her back.
The Falcon Claw was tied around her neck, and a few diamond-studded clips
adorned her hair.
Garnet stepped out of her bedroom, and someone whistled at
her wolfishly. She turned towards the
source, and her eyes shot open.
There stood Zidane against the wall- arms crossed in a
classic look of arrogance. His long,
blond hair fell over his face slightly, but he pushed it back with his
hands. He wore dark navy blue leggings
and a silver tunic. A black cape was
attached to his tunic by two brass clasps, and Garnet felt her heart skip a
beat at how handsome he looked.
Zidane walked up to her and smiled.
“Good evening, your majesty,” he said formally. Garnet managed to find her voice.
“Zidane, please, don’t call me that. Just call me Dagger like you used to; you’re
the only one who still does,” Garnet stated.
Zidane nodded and took her hand.
“You look breath taking,” he said and kissed her hand. Garnet blushed slightly.
“Th-thank you, you look pretty handsome yourself,” she
replied trailing her fingers down the silk of his tunic. Zidane tugged on her hand, and Garnet understood
as she stepped into his embrace.
“You shouldn’t look this beautiful, Dagger, it’s not fair to
the other women. Now, you’ll have all
the men staring at you all night,” he quipped.
Garnet smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“And I’m sure that you’ll have every lady in the house
staring at you, considering how wonderful you look,” she fired back. Zidane bent down until his face was an inch
from hers. Garnet tingled as she felt
his hot breath on her face.
“Kiss me, Zidane.”
Garnet said it so quietly that it was almost inaudible, but Zidane heard
as clear as a bell.
“My pleasure,” he said just as his lips descended on
hers. Their kiss was sweet and loving,
and Zidane wrapped his arms around her.
It began as a tender exchange, but the kiss quickly heated up as both
young adults realized how natural this felt to them.
Garnet pressed herself up against Zidane’s hard exterior,
and he tangled his hands in her black hair.
Garnet opened her mouth, and she felt him enter with a quiet but
deliberate objective. They both felt
the jolt as their tongues met and fought the most intimate of duels. Zidane’s hands cupped her face, and he
pulled back for air. His hands stroked
her soft cheeks, and his right thumb brushed her lips.
“Dagger…I…I want you to know that…that I…” Garnet put a
finger to his lips.
“Zidane…you don’t have to say anything…I know,” sim simply
said. Zidane smiled and hugged her
close.
“We better get down there before Steiner comes looking for
you,” he advised.
“Will you dance with me tonight?” Garnet asked
hopefully. Zidane grinned at her.
“If you want, Dagger, I’ll dance with you all night long,”
he said tenderly. Garnet hugged him
tightly and kissed his cheek. Then
linking her arm through his, they walked downstairs to the ball together.
As soon as Garnet and Zidane entered the ballroom, all eyes
turned to them. Garnet gave a slight
curtsy, and Zidane complimented her by bowing slightly. Garnet was surprised that Zidane could play
her consort so well.
Zidane escorted her to the center of the dance floor and
bowed reverently to her.
“Your majesty, may I have the pleasure of this dance?” he
asked with a warm smile. Garnet smiled
right back and curtsied.
“It would be my pleasure, sir,” she said teasingly. Zidane twirled her in a loop, and then
pulled her close. He clasped her right
hand and wrapped an arm around her waist.
Garnet squeezed his hand gently and placed her left hand on his right
shoulder. A waltz began, and Zidane led
his beloved Dagger around the floor.
You could feel the magic radiating off the young couple, and
everyone soon stopped dancing to watch them.
Zidane and Garnet didn’t even notice, as they were too busy gazing into
each other’s eyes.
Garnet felt herself becoming lost in the endless green of
his eyes, and Zidane felt as though her soft chocolate orbs were devouring him. His hand left hers and moved to wrap around
her waist snugly. Garnet wrapped both
arms around his neck and laid her head on his chest. Zidane placed his head on top of her soft, black hair and let the
music carry them away.
The waltz ended, but their dancing did not. The young couple was completely lost in
their own world. Another song began,
and their pace changed to match the melody almost perfectly.
Zidane was intoxicated by this beautiful woman dancing in
his arms. Dagger was everything to him,
and she always would be. He could smell
husciuscious perfume, and it only made him desire her more. Meanwhile, Garnet made a mental note to ask
Zidane to wear silk more often. It felt
so good on top of his hard exterior- almost like soft steel. She snuggled her head closer to him and
heard his heartbeat; it was beating rapidly but steadily; and Garnet knew that
it matched her own heart rate exactly.
What seemed like hours later, Zidane felt someone tapping
him on the shoulder. He loosened his grip
on Dagger and lifted his head to see who it was. He stopped moving as he noticed that it was Cid.
Garnet lifted her head and gasped as she saw the reason why
Zidane had stopped moving.
“Uncle Cid!” she gasped.
Both of them blushed furiously, and Cid chuckled at the two of them.
“It’s okay, you two, everyone’s been watching you for a
while,” he stated.
It was then that Garnet and Zidane noticed that they were in
the middle of a large circle, and everyone applauded them for their magical
performance. They both turned beet red!
“Zidane, if you don’t mind, I’d like to borrow this lovely,
young lady for a dance?” the older man said with grin. Zidane stepped back and offered him Garnet’s
hand.
“Of course,” he replied.
Garnet happily took her uncle’s hand, and they began moving. Zidane grinned as he watched the two of
them. That is, until someone kicked him
in the shin. “Ouch!” he gasped and
looked down to see Eiko smiling at him.
“Hi Zidane, wanna dance?” she giggled.
“Dance?” he asked to make sure that he’d heard her right.
“Yeah. I figured
that this is gonna be the only time tonight that Garnet’s letting you go; so,
I’m taking advantage of it!” Eiko said happily. Zidane chuckled at the little girl. She looked really cute in her purple velvet dress, and a matching
ribbon was tied in her hair. Zidane
stepped back and gave a deep bow.
“Madam, I would be honored to dance with such a lovely
lady,” he said with a grin. Zidane
could hear giggles from spectators, and Eiko blushed furiously.
“Stop it, Zidane, you’re embarrassing me!” she pouted. He extended his hands, and Eiko put her tiny
hands inside his. Together, they slowly
swirled around the room.
Garnet caught site of the duo, and a smirk tugged at her
mouth.
“Looks like Zidane found a new partner!” she quipped. Cid turned to where she looking and grinned.
“He’s very good with children. I remember how the children of Lindblum came up to him, and he
accepted each of them. Most grown-ups
would have pushed them away,” Cid said proudly. Garnet couldn’t argue with him.
“Yes, I know, he’ll make a wonderful father someday,” she
said dreamily not fully realizing what had jusme ome out of her mouth. Cid smiled at his niece.
“And I’m sure that you’ll make a fantastic mother,” the
regent of Lindblum said warmly.
“Wait a minute…” Garnet gasped, as she understood his
comment, “…I never meant that…”
“It’s okay, Garnet, you don’t have to explain. I know how close you and Zidane are; you two
remind me of Hilda and myself when we were younger,” he stated.
“Uncle Cid!” Garnet gasped as she saw his sly smile.
Meanwhile, Zidane’s back was getting soar from having to
bend over to hold Eiko’s hands.
“Hey Eiko, what’s say we change things a bit; otherwise,
I’ll be crippled for life!” he quipped.
“Okay sure,” the little girl replied. “Wow!”
Zidane swooped her into the air and spun around the floor. Eiko laughed her head as she flew around the
room.
Garnet chuckled at the two of them; Zidane could make
anything into a joke…even waltzing.
The song ended, and Eiko hugged Zidane’s neck.
“Thanks, that was fun!” she giggled. Zidane smiled and put her back down.
“Hey Eiko, would you do me a favor?” he asked.
“Yeah sure,” the little girl beamed. Zidane whispered something in her ear, and
Eiko grinned slyly. “Zidane, you’re a
genius!” she squealed.
“Thank you,” he replied.
Eiko smiled and backed away as she saw Garnet approaching them. “Yeow!” Zidane gasped as someone tugged on
his hair, and he whirled around to see his queen behind him.
“A little young for you isn’t she?” Garnet teased. Zidane suddenly spun her around, and Garnet
stumbled toward him. He caught her in a
dip, and Zidane bent down right next to her ear.
“My sweet Dagger, let me make one thing perfectly clear,
there’s only one woman for me, and she’s in my arms at this very moment,” he
said firmly yet tenderly. Garnet felt
her heartbeat triple, and Zidane raised his head so he could look into her
eyes. He placed a whisper of a kiss on
her lips so as not to attract too much attention and pulled Garnet to her
feet. Her face was bright crimson, but
her heart was soaring.
“Zidane, I…” she gulped not knowing what to say after
hearing such a pronouncement from him.
“Shh, don’t say anything,” he replied as he caressed her
cheek. Zidane escorted Garnet to her
throne and stood by her side as she sat down.
Garnet cast sideward glances at him from time to time, and her face
beamed at him. She took his hand that
was resting on her armrest and squeezed it firmly. Zidane smiled at her and returned the gesture. Garnet made herself a promise that tonight
she would tell him how she really felt.
The ball drew to its conclusion, and Zidane led Garnet out
onto the floor one last time. The music
was slow and romantic, and Garnet settled herself in his arms. They barely moved at all, and instead swayed
back and forth just enjoying being in each other’s arms.
Zidane looked up from Dagger’s hair and gazed around at the
other couples on the floor. He smiled
as he saw Steiner and Beatrix swirling around the room. ‘Live it up, Rusty!’ Zidane said
silently. He had to stop a chuckle as
he saw Eiko pull Vivi onto the floor for a dance. He made eye contact with her and nodded his head. Eiko caught on and extended her hand. A soft white glow emanated from her hand.
“Hey!” Garnet gasped as her head snapped up. She looked down to see that her feet were no
longer touching the ground. “Zidane,
what’s going on?”
“Oh nothing, I just had Eiko cast a little spell. After all, how often you get a chance to
danc air air?” he asked warmly.yes"> I love you, my beloved Garnet, and I’ll go to my grave loving
you,” Zidane said passionately. Garnet
felt her heart soar into the heavens as he not only told her that he loved her,
but he used both her nickname and her real name. This told her that Zidane loved her for who she was and not just
Dagger-the woman he took on an adventure.
“Zidane, I want you with me always; I don’t ever want you to
leave me again,” Garnet said almost desperately.
“Yes, my darling, I shall stay by your side always. I will be here whenever you need me no
matter what the problem might be. If
you want me to, I’ll even become your personal guard,” he quipped. Garnet smiled fiendishly at him.
“Hmm, that’s a tempting offer. That means you can come into my room anytime you want,” she
cooed. Zidane pulled her a little
harder against him.
“How about your bedroom, my luscious queen?” he asked
hotly. Garnet felt her face heat up at
the intense look in his eyes. She
pinched his arm, and he winced.
“Control yourself, Zidane, I’m not that easy,” she said
proudly.
“I wasn’t calling you easy at all, Dagger, I love just the
way you are. A woman who’s easy makes
out on the first date. You, on the
other hand, are a lot different. I had
to save your butt a couple of times and protect the world before we came close
to being together. That does not
qualify as easy,” Zidane explained.
“Aren’t you the least bit disappointed that I didn’t let you
near me sooner?” Garnet asked with an impish grin.
“Yes and no. Yes, I
would’ve liked to hold you in my arms sooner, and I wanted to kiss you a lot
longer than before today. But, I won’t
force you to do anything, sweetheart, I may act like a ladies’ man, but answer
this…did you ever see women hanging on me in any other town?” he asked. Garnet thought about it for a moment and
realized that he was right. Sure Zidane
knew many girls throughout the world, but considering that he worked on a theatre
ship many women would know his face.
“Zidane, I guess you’re right,” she conceded.
“Look, I’ll admit that I’m a flirt sometimes; you know that
as well as anyone! But, I don’t flirt
with complete strangers. Remember, I
didn’t flirt with you until long after I met you! I just couldn’t act normally around you…” he said with a st
bt
blush. This drew a smile from Garnet’s
lips, and she pressed up against him.
“Why was that?” she asked sweetly. Zidane’s hands pulled her face close to his.
“Dagger, from the first time I met you, I knew there was
something about you that was different from other women that I’ve known. Every time I was around you, my palms would
sweat, and my mouth would turn dry. I
don’t even know how I kept my composure around you sometimes. I was drawn to you like a magnet, and the
more I found out about you, the closer I wanted to be to you,” he said
tenderly.
“Oh Zidane…” Garnet sighed happily.
“Dagger, you became the one person that I wanted to protect
and watch over. I think I fell for you
that first time I heard you singing in Lindblum. You looked so beautiful that day. I just wanted to wrap my arms around you and hold you until you
felt happy again. I couldn’t stand the
fact that you were unhappy.” Zidane
trailed his hand through her hair, and Garnet felt tears welling in her eyes as
she listened to him.
“Zidane, that day by the telescope, I wanted to run into
your arms and cry my eyes out because I knew that you’d be there for me. You were always there for me, and I loved
you for it. I can still remember the
exact moment when I fell in love with you,” she said happily.
“When was that?” he asked quite interested.
“The first night we met.
On the Tantalus ship, when you stayed close to me and held me to make
sure that I was okay. You didn’t even
know me, but you still protected me, which made me realize that there was
something special about you!” she said lovingly.
Zidane’s arms wrapped around her, and Garnet locked her arms
around his neck. Their lips met in a hot,
steamy kiss, and they pressed close together.
Garnet let out a soft moan as Zidane kissed his way down her neck. He stopped at her collarbone and lifted his
head.
“Why did you stop?” Garnet asked in disappointment.
“I’m sorry, Dagger, but I was afraid that if I kept going
that I’d lose myself in you, and I don’t want my impatience to ruin this
night,” Zidane said sadly.
“Shh,” Garnet sighed and brushed her fingers through his
hair. “Thank you, Zidane, you always
think of me before yourself, and I love you for it.”
“Dagger, I think it’s time that I take you back to your
room; it’s getting late,” he advised.
“All right,” she conceded.
Zidane escorted her to her chambers, and Garnet hugged him
tightly.
“Thank you, Zidane, thank you for tonight,” she said with a
bright smile.
“You’re welcome, Dagger, anytime,” he replied. Garnet moved closer to him and kissed him
softly.
“I love you, my handsome thief,” she said with a teasing
grin.
“And I love you, my goddess of the summoners,” he answered
with a similar grin. Zidane kissed his
queen one final time, and Garnet slipped his cape off her shoulders. He took the garment from her and reluctantly
let her leave his arms.
Garnet opened her door and turned her head back towards him.
“Goodnight, Zidane,” she said softly.
“Goodnight, Dagger,” he replied with a warm smile as she
disappeared inside her room.
Garnet changed into her sleeping attire and crawled into her
soft bed. She curled up to go to sleep,
but her eyes wouldn’t stay closed.
“I miss him already,” Garnet said softly. “A part of me wishes that he was here
holding me right now; I want him to hold me all night long.” She sighed and rolled over. Her eyes caught site of the Falcon Claw
sitting on her dresser. Garnet grasped
the jewel in her hand and hoped that it would calm her down.
Zidane strolled into his room, which was down the hall from
Garnet’s. He kicked off his boots and
undressed down to his leggings. His
tired body collapsed onto the bed, but he couldn’t fall asleep either.
“Darn, I miss her already!” he groaned. He missed holding her close to him, feeling
her soft body melting against his. “Ah,
I’ll never get to sleep thinking like that!”
Suddenly, his eyes caught site of his cape on the floor next to the
bed. He snatched it up and brought it
to his face. It still held her scent on
it; the intoxicating perfume that she’d worn this evening.
Zidane felt his eyes growing heavy as his mind calmed down,
but he sensed something was wrong. He
could feel someone’s distress; it was Dagger!
She was tossing in her bed trying to sleep, just like he was.
Zidane closed his eyes and relaxed his thoughts. He focused in on Dagger’s room and her
restless form.
Garnet tossed her head from side to side, but suddenly, she
stopped.
“Dagger…Dagger…” she heard a familiar voice murmur.
“Zidane?” she thought curiously. She noticed that the jewel in her hand was glowing slightly.
“Yes, Dagger, it’s me; I see that you can’t sleep either,”
he teased.
“No, I can’t, you aren’t here,” she replied.
“I don’t even know how we’re doing this quite frankly!”
Zidane blurted out.
“Well, the Falcon Claw is glowing on my necklace, so my
guess is that it’s the cause,” she answered.
“Well then, I have an idea.
Close your eyes,” he instructed.
Garnet closed her eyes, and she saw a picture of Zidane in her
mind. He walked up to her and wrapped
his arms around her.
‘How are we doing this?’ she asked him.
‘I don’t know, but I don’t really care,’ he replied. Garnet felt herself drifting off, and the scenery
suddenly changed. T
