Morning After
~SeiferxIrvine~
Irvine shook his
head and dipped his finger into the pancake batter for the third time. He closed his eyes when he sucked the stuff
off his fingertip and made some soft, contented little sound.
“I still can’t believe I’m seein’ this.” He told Seifer, licking at a drop of batter
on his wrist. “Seifer Almasy, culinary
genius. Who knew?”
Seifer draped a dish towel over his shoulder and elbowed Irvine
aside to reach for a plate in the cabinet.
“Don’t be too impressed, Kinneas.
This is about the only thing I know how to make.”
Irvine laughed
and hopped up onto the counter, happily ignoring the look Seifer shot him. “Hell, if I’d known breakfast was part of the
deal, I’d have spent the night with you a long time ago.”
Seifer gave him an odd look and turned the pancakes before
laying the spatula down on the stove. He
crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the counter, just looking at
Irvine, who was a tempting sight
first thing in the morning. He had his
hair pulled back in a loose ponytail and was clad only in a pair of sweatpants
and an oversized tanktop. Seifer felt
the hunger stir again – and this time it had absolutely nothing to do with
breakfast.
“Is that my only lure, Irvine? That I can feed you after?” He smiled, to show he was teasing, but Irvine
always knew to look deeper than the surface.
He gestured to Seifer.
“Come here.”
Seifer hesitated only a moment before moving closer, taking Irvine’s
proffered hand and settling between his thighs.
It was all too easy to slide his arms around the cowboy’s waist and pull
him to the edge of the counter. He
always smelled so good and Seifer had not been surprised to discover that he
tasted just as sweet.
Irvine twined
his arms around Seifer’s neck and crossed his ankles behind the taller boy’s
legs. “How much of last night do you
remember?” Irvine
whispered against Seifer’s ear – his voice pitched low and so incredibly
arousing to Seifer.
He rubbed strands of caramel colored hair between his
fingers and sighed at the sugary scent of his hair. Images of Irvine,
naked and sprawled in Seifer’s bed, came unbidden to him. Random flashes of what it had felt like to
discover the texture of the cowboy’s skin and how he’d been a perfect weight in
Seifer’s lap, nuzzling and kissing and giving Seifer so much more than what
he’d bargained for.
“Everything.” Seifer
admitted. “I remember everything.”
Irvine turned
Seifer’s head and kissed him softly, still thrilled to realize that the
Sorceress’ Knight had a sweet, romantic side.
That discovery had been like a knife in Irvine’s
heart – he’d warned himself way before last night not to allow himself to feel
too much for Seifer Almasy. Even if his
temperament, and even his sanity, hadn’t been enough to warn him away, the fact
that he was over the moon for Squall Leonhart and always would be should have
been.
Funny thing was, Irvine
could definitely relate.
Irvine sighed
against Seifer’s lips, reveling in the heat of his touch and the comfort of his
powerful body. “I didn’t expect to like
you this much.” He admitted.
Seifer nuzzled the soft place behind Irvine’s
ear and slid his hands into Irvine’s
pants to cup his buttocks and squeeze gently.
Irvine trembled against him
and arched into the muscled curve of Seifer’s belly.
“Me either.” Seifer agreed,
sucking gently at Irvine’s neck,
those silkrough strands clinging to his lips.
He didn’t try to brush them away.
“I’m glad you stayed the night, though.”
Irvine felt
himself warm with pleasure. Seifer
Almasy was not the sort to offer up his feelings so freely – Irvine
wondered if perhaps he had a shot here after all. When two men shared a common interest, it was
only natural that they would want to share that interest to the fullest
degree.
…right?
“Seifer?” He
breathed, his fingers curling over Seifer’s broad shoulders. Seifer leaned into Irvine,
trailing kisses across his collarbone. Irvine’s
eyelashes fluttered and he turned his head to meet a few of those kisses. Seifer obliged, sucking gently at Irvine’s
lower lip.
“Mm?”
The pancakes were beginning to burn, faint tendrils of smoke
rising from the skillet to twine about the two of them in unnoticed
reminder.
“Do you love him still?”
Spoken so haltingly, but without regret.
It was something he needed to hear.
Seifer gripped Irvine’s
chin and stared hard into his eyes. “Do
you?”
Irvine didn’t
answer the question, not wanting to give ground any more than Seifer did. “I asked you first.”
Seifer reached between them and thumbed one of Irvine’s
perfect, tempting nipples, just peeking out of his shirt. “Yes. You gonna fight me for him?”
Irvine tipped
his head back and gasped, fingers creeping up into Seifer’s hair, gripping the
short blonde strands. “No.” He panted, rocking his hips forward in
blatant need.
Seifer took the opportunity to avail himself of a few more
of Irvine’s sweet kisses, only
drawing back when the urgent, whimpering sounds Irvine
made against his lips conspired to make him senseless with lust. “Why not?”
He growled, voice low and rough.
Irvine reached
between them, rubbing his own erection through the sweatpants he wore. “Why would I?
When you could have us both?”
Seifer grew still; one hand over Irvine’s
to halt his desperate stroking. He
rested his forehead against Irvine’s
and just stared into those amazing eyes.
“Do you mean that?” He whispered,
tentative hope so obvious in his voice.
Irvine wrapped
himself around the bigger boy and took his mouth in a heartfelt kiss. He wanted Squall Leonhart, that part was true
– but he could no more walk away from Seifer Almasy than he could confess his
true feelings to his emotionally detached Commander. Squall needed to be shown love – real love. Irvine
knew that Seifer could feel no other kind.
Together, they could find it.
“Yes.” He hissed, hugging
Seifer to him. All spicy heat and
dominant male – this man was going to be his. Then he would show Squall Leonhart the way.
Seifer lifted Irvine
from the counter and, as an afterthought, reached to turn off the burner and
move the skillet aside on the stovetop.
“So much for breakfast” He deadpanned, frowning at the mess they’d left
on the countertop and stove.
Irvine tightened
his legs around Seifer’s waist and brushed his lips over the faint stubble at
Seifer’s jaw. “We’ll try again later.” He assured his lover.
Seifer snickered, hands tight at Irvine’s
ass when he walked him back into the bedroom.
“Screw it. We’ll order out.”
Irvine smiled,
gazing over Seifer’s shoulder at the small kitchen. Yeah, they’d order out. Maybe Squall would be up for a
friendly…lunch.
