His eyes were dark and hard, like little black buttons, and Tidus thought that, for once in his life, he'd like to rewind time and listen more closely to what the people around him were saying.
"Al Bhed food shortage." Lulu explained in her dark, mysterious voice. "We're leaving to speak with the Al Bhed elder. Rikku just brought up the issue yesterday and Yuna has become very concerned."
Yuna beamed at the bright, blonde girl beside her, who seemed slightly cheerier than the night before. She smiled at Tidus and gave him a fond little wave from behind Lulu's large lace attire. He he forced an answering smile before turning to the man next to him, begging for silence as best a man could when his eyes were the only tool of communication he could use. The guardian in particular, though, seemed thoroughly disturbed. Oh well, Tidus thought with a foreboding shudder, desperate times call for desperate measures.
"Wakka, don't..." he warned, but already, the red-head had begun his tactless muttering and grim-faced hmphs. Even with his sharp, stony tone of voice, it was hard to make out just what he was saying, save for little snips of "Kidnapped Yuna" and "Good-for-nothings." But this was, in it's own way, a relief, Tidus thought, since Rikku didn't seem to be in the best mood toward said athlete, either. Luckily, not only were his comments soft and, for the most part, inaudiable, but his accent seemed to have thickened just enough for Rikku to consider it a different language and, therefore, able to blissfully ignore.
"Are you coming, Tidus?" Yuna asked. But before the blonde could even consider accompanying them, Auron had taken lead.
"We need someone to babysit him." The elder guardian gestured to Wakka tactlessly. "I trust you can keep him out of trouble, Tidus, even if you are Jecht's son."
I'm going to take that as a compliment, Tidus thought awkwardly.
"In that case, lets go practice, ya?" Wakka said between clenched teeth. Though his tone was light and playful, his face was a grimace of anger and loathing. Tidus, fearing for the saftey of those around him, nodded without really considering the consequences.
"Sure thing."
Wakka watched stonily as the others began to head away. "Got any blitzball tips?"
"A few." Tidus admitted.
Wakka nodded clumsily, eyes locked on his friends retreating forms, before huffing loudly and folding muscular arms over a tanned chest. "Al Bhed...just dunno who to trust anymore."
"I-I'll get the ball." Tidus offered quietly.
Wakka nodded once more and rose from his position on the sun-polished sand, stretching lazily. Tidus watched him for a moment, transfixed by the look on his face: content and relaxed, when only a few seconds ago he was bursting with unspent anger. His mouth formed a small "o" when he yawned, little pink tounge just visible over a row of teeth. Finally, his arms dropped back to their sides and he made his way over to the water.
Tidus jogged to the blitzball's resting place, picking it up with one hand and glancing at it heartfully. There were still smudges and marks dotting the once flawless surface: reminders of the various battles they had encountered on the way here. Sighing heavily, Tidus tucked the ball under his arm and followed after his red-headed companion.
"Okay, shoot." Wakka said, kicking impatiently at the water. "Chappu taught me this trick, ya? Jus' curious if you know it..."
"Can do." Tidus chirped and turned his back to the his friend, taking the ball in one hand, reeling back, and with all the strength he could muster -
"No no no, just a second. Your arms..."
"What?" Tidus breathed, bewildered. "What's wrong with them?"
"They're all wrong." Wakka said expertly. "Your right arm... You're practically twistin' it to the breaking point."
"I...what?"
"Here, lemme show you." Wakka said, grinning knowingly. Tidus stared unblinkingly at him, the blitzball clutched, forgotten, between tanned fingers.
"Just...show me how you put your arms and I'll...um, copy." Tidus said awkwardly.
"Nah, I'll just position 'em for you." Wakka breathed cheerfully, sliding behind him.
And then Tidus looked down and saw perhaps the strangest sight he'd come across so far - Wakka's hands over his own. Guiding him. And that, compared to all the monsters and magic and summonings he'd experienced so far, was the most entrancing thing he'd ever seen.
At first he was staring, then he was outright gawking, and when Wakka's hands wrapped slyly around his wrists and pulled his arms up into a surrendering position, he was too awed by the fact that there was another body pressed so damn close against his to realize just what was going on.
And then he felt something warm and wet on his neck, and suddenly he came to the horrible realization that they weren't playing Blitzball anymore. And when I say horrible, I mean horrible for the both of them, because the end result was Tidus thrashing and kicking and finally whirling around and throwing his best punch directly at Wakka's jaw, missing by a paper's thickness.
"Don't touch me!" he shrieked, and then Wakka shouted right back; "Sorry, sorry!" he had expected several things, and this, of course, was one of them.
"Alright," he babbled as Tidus jumped away from him like a child that had pressed his hand against a burning stovetop. "Alright, we're friends, okay, I'm really sorry. Just pretend it didn't happen, ya?"
But Tidus did something very strange from that moment forward: even as Wakka struggled to apologize, he seemed to have grown deaf to all voices but his own and had wrapped his arms around himself, his knees pressed to his chest in spite of the cold water that nipped at his skin from the awkwardness of his position.
"...sorry." he said one last time. And then, in a smaller voice; "You okay there?"
"Don't touch me." he repeated in a hushed voice. His eyes were squeezed tightly together, and for a moment, Wakka wondered if Tidus was under the impression that he was going to be hurt.
"I won't." he said. "Tidus, okay. I'll stay away. Just..." he paused for a second, his face still flushed from the sheer embarressment of being turned down so damn violently, and then, overcoming that, came the worry. Tidus was trembling, and that wasn't right at all. A turndown, maybe even a fit, yes, but why on earth would he be frightened?
"Did I hurt you?" he wondered aloud, even though, silently, the question seemed both unnecessary and absurd.
"It's not you, Wakka." he breathed through clenched teeth, normally tanned face burning with humiliation. "Just...I-I mean....I can't."
Wakka stepped forward, no longer hurt or rejected, but now concerned and, overall, simply bewildered. He had never seen someone overreact this much, and even if Tidus was trying to make it look like he was simply not interested...well, he was shaking, for Yevon's sake. It wasn't right.
There were several things he wanted to ask - most of them outright and probably too rude for him to carry out, but what he ended up asking was most likely, Wakka would later realize, one of the worst things to say in this sort of situation. Change the subject, yes. A comforting smile, maybe. But asking if Tidus was still a virgin was simply too awkward for words.
And then he stopped and waited and realized that that was too personal a question, but how else was he going to get Tidus to talk? The blonde flinched, and a thick, shining lock of hair tumbled over his forehead and into his eyes. He didn't brush it away.
"It's nothing." he said bitterly.
"...who?" Wakka pressed, unable to stop himself.
"Nothing." Tidus repeated tonelessly.
"Tidus, if something happened, you can always tell m-"
"My dad. My dad, okay? Are you happy now?!" his voice grew higher and higher he was sure it was about to break, to shatter into a million pieces and leave him mute and empty and trembling with hate.
Wakka froze, eyes wide, hands stiff and spider-like at his sides. Wave after wave of pure horror crashed over him like snake venom; thick and paralyzing. He thought of the man, of his silvery image visible through the sphere that they had picked up in Malacania woods, of the way he sat so casually on a stone, spilling out his emotions just as awkwardly as any pink-faced teenager.
"...Jecht? Yuna's Sir Jecht?"
Tidus answered with a small, negative noise, caught between a laugh and a sob.
A sob... Wakka shivered. A grown man weeping...even if Tidus was being constantly called a crybaby, it was one thing to hear it and another experience entirely to see it.
Wakka leaned over, trying to get a clear view of his face. He was shivering, hands clamping down on his forearms, curled up into himself and biting his lip and...not crying. It was a form of self-control that made Wakka want to scream, or run, or do something to make him sob, because, for the love of Yevon, you weren't supposed to hold those kind of tears in. It couldn't be done, because it wasn't human. He'd break. Or explode. Or just...curl up and die. It seemed physically impossible, but here he was, a perfect example; face screwed up against the tears and nose wrinkled and eyes squeezed shut...but never the less, it worked. He wasn't crying.
"Why?" he breathed. Tidus tossed his head back, throwing stray locks of blonde hair out of his eyes.
"He was drunk." he said finally. "Mother was away, and he was drunk." There was another pause, long and hard and torturous, and then he continued: "His breath smelled awful. Like pepper in my throat when he touched me. Like broken nails or something. And at first he was nice, saying he loved me and asking if I loved him too...which scared me, but what are you supposed to do...you know, besides say yes?"
Still not crying. Still. Wakka frowned, stepping closer, his stomach a wriggling mass of hungry serpants clawing at him from the inside out. He was going to be sick, going to have to run soon, because he couldn't take this kind of shock. And those disgusting details...he knew he didn't want to hear them, but some sick, sadistic part of him did. He hated it, he hated himself for it, and as Tidus opened his mouth to speak once again, he hated the little voice in his head that eagerly awaited every word. And then the stronger side of him, the Wakka side, simply begged for him to stop, that he didn't want to listen, that he didn't want to believe that something like this could happen, that a little boy could possibly be raped in his own home by his own father.
"At first he was just hugging me." Tidus explained, face pinkening noticeably. "Which was strange, because back then, whenever my old man came home with breath like that, he usually just hit me. But then he told me he loved me, then he said he hated me, and then he just..." Tidus raised both hands and waved them in a crude, toneless mockery that caused disgust to wash over Wakka in a visible wave. "Flipped me over."
"He - " Wakka stuttered, and then, in a softer voice; "When?"
Tidus cringed and turned his face skyward. On any other occasion, Wakka would have said he was simply thinking. In this case, it seemed more like stalling, or rather, thinking of a way out of answering directly. But before Wakka could offer him an escape route or apologize for being too personal, Tidus shook his head and spoke. "I was seven."
Disgust washed over him harder than the rough waves stinging at his sand-bitten ankles. He allowed himself a comical step back, one hand clamping around his stomach. He was going to be sick, there was really no doubt in his mind. From the beginning he had convinced himself that he'd lose it any minute, but now, the urge to vomit was stronger than ever.
"It hurt." Tidus said softly. "Really bad. And then it was over, and he passed out, and the next day Mom came home and fussed over him, going on and on about his drinking habits. My old man remembered, I think, because he was really nice to me afterward. He bought me alot of things. He tried to hug me once, too, but...you know."
Yes, he knew.
"But...this is different." Wakka said. "I'd never do anythin' you wouldn't want."
Tidus stopped for a moment, face flushing, if possible, even darker.
"...I know." he breathed.
"I love you." Wakka whispered. It felt so strange, so unreal to speak the words that had been playing in the back of his mind for so many endless nights, but now they were in perhaps the only situation he hadn't been expecting.
Tidus looked up cautiously and bit down hard on his lower lip. A small drop of blood formed and turned up bright red against white teeth. His lips thinned nervously.
"I love you." Wakka repeated firmly. "He isn't here. Just me. Wakka."
Tidus closed his eyes and nodded. When he spoke, it started awkward, almost questioning: "Wakka?..." and then he paused, took a deep breath, and hard roses of color burned high on his cheekbones. "Wakka."
Slowly. Slowly. The red-head reached forward and wrapped one arm around his back and the other on his shoulder. He slowly snaked it north, touching his neck gently, fingertips brushing against his jaw, palm resting lovingly against one tanned cheek.
"Wakka." he said. "Just you."
"Yes." he said, and then came step two; with his left hand, currently occupied with clutching Tidus around the waist, he pulled him forward, slowly, carefully, making sure he would be able to hold his ground if he wanted to.
Tidus's face drew together for a moment. Then, a small, cautious step, hardly even in inch's movement, followed by another and another, until the two gaurdians were pressed tightly together, face-to-face. The blonde's hands twitched for a moment, but stayed at his sides. His eyes gently eased open.
"Can I kiss you?" he asked timidly.
"This is wrong." Tidus whispered, and then came the first real tear. A little sob fell deep into the back of his throat as a single, translucent pearl slid down his cheek, dripping from his chin and unto his chest. He breathed deeply, face shaking, and let it wash over him like the ocean tide. "This is so wrong."
But then he leaned forward and even though his face was red with humiliation, his lips were willing, and when they touched, it was a feeling of frozen heartbeats and soft bird-cries that he had never even dreamed of before.
It was gentle and loving, but shakey, even a little scared, and then Tidus became more possessive, snaking one hand over the gaurdian's back and holding him close. Wakka smiled into the other's lips and allowed his hands to travel south. He carresed the small of the blonde's back, rested one hand greedily on a tanned hip and rubbed, allowed fingers to explore smooth, unblemished skin, and then, finally, one hand dropped down to his ass and squeezed.
Tidus yelped shrilly and squeezed his eyes shut. Pure dread washed over him, and then he kicked, his bare foot slamming against Wakka's thigh with all the strength of a professional blitzball star.
Their expressions froze, atmosphere consisting of Tidus' horrified apology and Wakka's strained bark of pain, and then tanned arms wrapped around his back, trying to keep him balanced as Wakka clutched at the darkening bruise that he was sure was now forming under his uniform.
"I'm sorry!" Tidus cried as soon as the gaurdian strained back up, wincing. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean...! Just - oh God, Wakka, I'm so sor -"
"Fine. It's fine." Wakka said firmly. "Just...don't apologize, Tidus. I'm fine."
"Okay." he said softly, and then, as Wakka straightened back up, his ankles still enveloped by salty sea-water, Tidus burst out into another fit of horrified words which Wakka found almost impossible to translate into English.
"It'sokayifyoudontwanttoyouknowdothatanymoreImeanI'msureyourestillalittleohgodIthinkIjustbettergoinsideandgetsomerestand -"
"Tidus!"
The boy's lips snapped shut at the first syllable of his name, eyes wide and face as white as chalk.
"It's fine." Wakka said between clenched teeth. "Don't get yourself worked up, ya? It's just a little scratch."
Tidus giggled feebly, eyes somewhere far off. "Sorry, I just...sorry." he finished pathetically. Then, with a deep breath, he said; "Are we still...?"
Wakka felt his face heat up. "...if you want."
Tidus paused for a moment, his white face contracting in thought, and then blushed once more; a little spot of red on his nose that spread to his cheeks like an ink stain.
"How...how do we...do this?" he asked in a small voice.
"Lay down." Wakka instructed carefully. "Just...er, get comfortable."
Tidus spared him a doubtful glance before lowering himeself unto shoreline, wet sand sticking against his back. He paused for a moment, flushed a fierce shade of red, and lay his palms down on either side of him, lip bitten to the bleeding point.
"...now what?"
"Spread your legs." he said, face pinkening.
"I..." Tidus breathed slowly, letting the words sink in, and then, her burst out on perfect cue: "Already?!"
"Yes, Tidus, already." Wakka repeated patiently.
Tidus' eyebrows drew together nervously. Turning his face away from the gaurdian, he shifted his legs a little, muttering constantly to himself about days when beachwater was for swimming in and most men were straight. Wakka smiled passively and leaned closer, placing a small, fond kiss on Tidus' shaking jaw and whispering; "You're one to talk."
Tidus laughed genuinely, but Wakka couldn't help but frown at the high-pitched tone of voice. It was nerves, he told himself. Really, anyone would be nervous when it came to this, but when it came back down to old memories and matters of trust, Wakka really couldn't blame him.
"Will it hurt?" he breathed, looking up at the red-headed athlete with childlike concern.
"It might at first." Wakka muttered honestly. "But..."
He paused for a moment, wishing with all of his being that he could somehow read the thoughts that were passing through Tidus' mind. He waited until the boy's frightened expression relaxed a little before continuing.
"Just tell me to stop and I will." he soothed. "I promise, ya?"
"Ya." Tidus teased, and even though the both of them laughed, he couldn't help but feel of pang of foreboding guilt when Tidus squeezed his eyes closed, like a child about to be struck by an abusive parent. "Do it."
Do it?
Wakka almost laughed aloud. It was such a strange thing to hear, such an odd comment, just...so awkward, so damn silly, that this usually cheery blonde teenager thought there was no more to sex than an unpredictable dose of fleeting pain.
He considered explaining, but when no words seemed capable of leaving him, he simply leaned down and kissed those thin, shaking lips until he was no longer trembling and his hunched shoulders finally relaxed, touching the sticky sand beneath them.
When they broke away he was pleased to see Tidus' eyes were no longer hiding in dread, but looking up at him, round little pools of color, his lips now slack and disbelieving, and then a smile touched him - barely visible, but there all the same.
And then the blonde wrapped his arms around Wakka's back and pulled him close. He could breathe again, knowing that the information had gotten across clearly, knowing that now, Tidus wasn't just waiting for this to be over, wasn't just waiting for the re-enactment of a childhood horror to pass.
Wakka's hands were too preoccupied with holding the boy beneath him to really worry about clothes now, but surprisingly enough, he felt tanned hands working at his zipper and pulling and tugging until buttons were undone, straps were pulled down, and his pants were caught around his thighs.
"Stupid clothes." Tidus muttered into his neck. "How many layers do you have on, anyway?"
"Don't tear them." he laughed softly. "I'll help. Here - "
Wakka reached down and tugged at the blonde's coarse shorts, pulling them down to his knees with ease, and Tidus allowed his eyes to travel downward and rest on the sight of his bare hips and own growing erection.
"Feels funny." he said, blood coloring his face.
"I know." said Wakka quietly, biting back a grin.
Tidus shook his head for a moment, getting used to the feeling before glancing upward to the gaurdian and freezing.
At first he was just looking, and then he outright gawked, then his jaw slackened and his face drained of color and he whispered a hushed apology for being so damn rude, that he really didn't mean to stare, but...
Wakka shifted uncomfortably.
"Just..." Tidus continued again, his voice a frightened rush of shaking breaths and rushed words, "You're so calm, you're so damn calm, aren't you scared at all? I - sorry, I just don't think -"
"Tidus, relax." said Wakka huskily. "Everything's gonna be fine, ya?"
He nodded, twice, and then, in a hushed voice, he muttered something that Wakka was sure he would have never heard no matter how hard he listened.
"...what?"
Tidus looked away sharply, his face bright red and eyes avoiding Wakka's persistantly. Bewildered, he repeated; "What's wrong...?"
"Won't fit." the blonde whispered under his breath.
Wakka's first reaction was to laugh, but that passed rather quickly, and afterward he couldn't help but feel disgusting for even having an urge close to that. It would humiliate him for sure, and he was so worked up already. So instead, he simply leaned down, placed another kiss on his cheek, and then worked downward toward his stomach, sucking on his neck and chest as he went.
"Feels...weird." Tidus said once more, his breath heavier now.
And Wakka felt him relax just a bit, felt his hands drop back down to his sides, unnoticed, leaving deep gourges in the sand where fingers had dug down and clasped nervously together.
"How about now?" he muttered, pressing his face against his tanned abdomen.
"Okay...." he whispered.
"Nothing hurts?"
"...no." he said finally.
"Want me to stop?"
"No." he said, this time without hestitation.
Wakka felt a fond smile touch his face before he dipped a little lower, letting his hands fall down, brushing against motionless thighs and stroking the flawless skin around his kneecap.
"Now?"
"Not yet." he awknowledged quietly, his jaw set tight but eyes soft and relaxed.
Wakka looked down at him, frowning slightly, and he saw Tidus shift nervously above him. He lifted his eyes and saw the boy's mouth now pulled down in a sharp - maybe even somewhat frightened - frown. Not quite unwilling, Wakka thought, recognizing the look, but more like...waiting. Waiting for what came next.
Carefully, he brought his hand down to the inside of Tidus' thigh, and the blonde cried softly in protest.
"You okay?" he whispered, leaning forward a little.
"Fine." Tidus said through clenched teeth. "Go on, I'm fine."
Wakka frowned. It didn't feel right, but pressed on anyway, kissing his stomach and pressing fingers to the arching area between his legs. Tidus cringed for a moment, eyebrows drawn together, but when Wakka stopped and waited patiently for his permission, he forced himself to relax and finally nodded.
Wakka gently pushed one finger inside him, slow and tactful, and looking up at Tidus, he whispered; "Does that hurt?"
"Not bad." he muttered back, his fingers kneeding the damp sand nervously.
But Wakka waited, and soon it dawned on Tidus that he was holding out for another answer.
"Go ahead." he said obediently. "I'll tell you if I...erm, if anything hurts."
"You sure?" Wakka said doubtfully.
"Yes." he said, and when Wakka gave him the smallest of knowing frowns, Tidus pressed on; "Really."
"Okay." he said slowly, and another finger slid in.
Tidus stiffened noticeably, and once again, their fretting was repeated.
"You sure you're fine?"
"Fine, I'm fine, stop worrying." Tidus said bitterly. It was becoming quite troublesome, Wakka decided silently. He could tell it hurt - even if just a little bit - and Tidus keeping it quiet wasn't helping. Hell, if this kept up, then if he did hurt the blonde boy beneath him, it seemed steadily obvious that he wouldn't speak up.
He'll be fine. said a little voice in his head. If he can take three, he'll be able to take you.
Bullshit.
Well, if he doesn't speak up, it's his own fault.
"Shut up." he whispered aloud, a feeling of disgust washing over him. It was natural temptation, natural sin, he knew. But he hated it. He wished he could block out that damn voice and keep himself in check, keep his real self here for Tidus' sake, making sure that everything was fine and that he wasn't the only one enjoying himself.
"Huh?" Tidus said, sitting up a little, but he quickly froze, winced slightly, and plopped back down against the sand.
"Nothing." Wakka said. "Just a bit nervous."
"I'm the one that should be nervous." Tidus stated impatiently.
Wakka grinned shly and did as he was told, sliding a third finger into Tidus' entrance, and then he tightened and his round face glowed pink for a moment, two teeth biting down hard on his lower lip, and after a moment his shoulders plopped back down against the sand and he forced himself to relax.
"Does it hurt?" he asked once again.
"A little." Tidus muttered under his breath. "But I can handle it, I think."
"Hold still for a minute." Wakka ordered timidly, and once Tidus had settled back against the damp sand, he arched his fingers and rubbed and thrust until he finally got the reaction he had been looking for - a sharp, surprised gasp and an arch so violent that his shoulders dug little white saucers into the sand beneath them.
"There." Tidus awknowledged in a unusually high voice. "Felt...do that again."
Wakka did, and Tidus laid back and panted in response, bright little roses of color burning on his cheeks.
"Now." he ordered timidly. "I mean...if you want to, you can, now...."
"Tell me when you want me to stop."
"Fine." Tidus said. "Just...before I change my mind, okay?"
Wakka nodded and shifted, and when he gently eased his fingers out of the boy, Tidus cringed and flinched and bit down hard on the insides of his cheeks until Wakka was sure he could taste blood in the back of his throat. And all the while the little voices in the back of his head argued; You're already hurting him, he just doesn't want to stop you. and then want's voice spoke up and drowned out guilt's; That's shit, it's always uncomfortable at first!, and now he realized that he could beg Tidus for honesty as much as he wanted, but he wasn't going to get it, and that was that.
"Come on." Tidus said impatiently. "You're scaring me now."
"Okay." Wakka said, and when he repositioned himself over the younger boy, he noticed the way Tidus' eyes travelled over his body, from his feet to his neck, from his neck to his eyes to his forehead, and he muttered; "It's been a while."
"You remember it that well?"
"Very well." he said quietly. "But you look different, and...you're eyes are nicer. Clear, I guess. And that's good."
"Yes." Wakka agreed, now completely unaware of where Tidus was steering their conversation.
"And, I mean...I remember what it...feels like a little...so...um, will it feel...different?" he finished hopefully.
"I won't hurt you, if that's what you mean." Wakka soothed. "I'll be gentle. You don't have to worry 'bout that."
"Okay." and then he leaned back and his cheeks glowed red and he waited, and soon Wakka understood that waiting was his cue to get started, so he carefully leaned forward and pressed the tip of his erection against the boy's sensitive skin and did his best to take into consideration the little sound of nothingness that Tidus breathed in response.
And then Tidus nodded, but his eyes were closed, so Wakka pushed and Tidus cringed and dug his fingernails deep into the sank leaving gourges that filled with small pools of ocean water. And then there was a moment of hesitation where Wakka simply stared at him and Tidus whispered a pained hurry up so he pushed forward again, and once the head of his cock was no longer visible, Tidus was squirming beneath him and muttering little incantations beneath his breath, reciting the alphabet backwards and counting to ten before finally taking deep breaths and forcing himself to relax.
And when he stopped and waited for Tidus to gain control again he found it harder and harder to ignore the little voice inside his head that was now begging for more, because it was so perfect, he was so hot and wet and so damn tight. It took all the self-control Wakka could muster not to pin down the writhing boy beneath him and just fuck him into oblivion.
But once Tidus had settled down against the wet sand and nodded, it was the signal to go further, and he gently
( slowly slowly slowly )
eased himself deeper, deeper, inch by inch until he became aware of the way Tidus' toes had burrowed beneath the sand in order to hold himself still. And then he glanced up to see how the boy in question was doing and found himself taking in sight of his flushed face, lips parted in a small o of shock, and from the corner of his eyes he could see shiny, wet paths where tears had gathered and fallen.
"No, don't cry!" Wakka said desperately.
"I am not crying." Tidus whispered, his breath catching slightly. "Come on."
And then came the most awkward part - he knew it hurt Tidus now, but he had to find a way to make now go away, to find a way to make it feel good. It was a sort of forbidden pleasure, being able to feel that tight haven wrapped all around him and knowing that it was only causing pain, but then he remembered how Tidus had gasped and he thrust forward, searching for the spot and waiting for
"Oh - !"
the magic words to appear.
"There." Tidus said in the same voice as before, and Wakka couldn't help but smile, and then came an imagine that was new to the both of them: flushed cheeks and red lips and a very un-Tidusish gasp, and following that came an almost inaudiable moan, and somehow that was so much more sexy than an outright plea. He thrust, and then the blonde leaned back and took it, and he set
( oh god, self control, self control, remember self control )
a steady pace and forced himself to go slow, to make sure it was nothing Tidus couldn't handle, and but then he cried that it hurt, it hurt, it hurt so damn bad, and when Wakka quickly asked if he was doing something wrong, his only response was, "No - faster", so he did what he was told while Tidus squirmed awkwardly beneath him.
"Don't...get it." he said between heavy breaths. "Hurts but...feels so...damn funny...", and then he stretched his body against the sand, arms above his head and his back arching, muscles working beneath tanned skin, and it was so sexy, so damn erotic that Wakka came in an instant, and then he heard a little yelp of surprise behind him as Tidus jerked upward in mirroring climax, eyes wide and thighs trembling. When Wakka collapsed on his chest, panting and whispering sweet nothings into his ear, he felt shaking hands clasp over his back and pale lips whisper a half-hearted thank you, that he had expected several things to happen, but this feeling wasn't one of them.
"I'm sorry." he said in a hushed voice when both of their panting had slowed and finally faded away.
The voice that answered back was hoenstly bewildered, maybe even a little frightened. "Sorry for what?"
Tidus turned his face sharply away, but not in time for Wakka to miss the furious blush that had crept into his face, and when he muttered in response that he really didn't know, Wakka couldn't help but wonder why he had never noticed that expression on Tidus before.

.
"You were sleeping." Yuna told Tidus cheerfully, shaking a muttering Wakka awake. "Over by that rock over there. You should have seen Rikku going on about how cute it was, since your shorts were on backward and everything."
"Nn." Wakka moaned, swatting her hand away. And then, in a louder voice, "Just another minute..."
"We have good news." She whispered into his ear, and Wakka sat up in an instant, recognizing her voice.
"...Y-Yuna! Great to see you again, ya? So....um, where were you guys?"
"Where were we??" she repeated blankly. "Didn't we already explain?" And then, in a smaller voice, she breathed; "You look pretty exhausted, Wakka."
Behind them, a large, dawning grin spread across Rikku's face, and Wakka was tempted to scream at Tidus that blushing like a schoolgirl did not help their situation.
"Well, we did settle some problems concerning the Al Bhed." she said sweetly, her voice somehow higher than usual. "Did you two...do anything while we were gone?"
And then Yuna's eyes widened and she clapped two hands to her mouth just in time to stifle a thrilled "OH!"
"I probably shouldn't have to tell you this, but I believe you've spent too much time out in the sun." Lulu said, stepping closer with a cryptic smile. "Your face is terribly red."
Both Yuna and Rikku lapsed into childish giggles while Lulu folded her arms over her chest solemnly, smirking in a knowing manner. Behind them, Kimahri stood perfectly still, his mouth it's usual stoical slash, but his eyes were locked curiously on the two laughing girls before him.
"Interesting." Auron breathed loudly, and then following that, a small hmph before he turned and headed back into the hotel, his red attire billowing behind him.
"So, um." Rikku said, her delighted laughter subsiding for a moment. "Does that mean you two will hold hands in public now?"
"Yes, yes, and tell us how it was." Yuna pressed, her face glowing pink. "I'm awfully curious."
"The practice was fine, ya?" Wakka said sharply. "I fail to see why it's entertained you lot so much."
Both Rikku and Yuna seemed to find this comment particularily funny, as they were almost doubled before Wakka had even finished speaking.
"Oh, this is so fun!" Yuna decided crisply. "And it means that I can talk over my problems with Tidus without worrying that he'd be too insensitive to listen!"
"I am not insensitive!" Tidus said loudly, and Yuna, her voice now positively thrilled, chirped; "Of course, of course! But seriously guys, we support you."
"Yeah." Rikku said once again. "I mean, maybe that means we can go on a double date, you know?"
Both girls burst into another fit of giggles and pink-faced whispers. Wakka and Tidus exchanged bewildered glances.
"With who?" Tidus demanded finally.
Rikku shot him a poisonous glare.
"Well, we'll leave you two to spend some...quality time together." she said after a dramatic pause, and then, in a smaller voice, accompanied by a very Rikku-ish wink; "Don't worry, we won't look."
"Oh, yes." said Yuna brightly. "Second time isn't always best, but it's still fun."
The two girls turned and headed back inside, giggling delightfully to themselves. Wakka turned to catch the expression on Tidus's face; utmost bewilderment, and then a hard, furious blush.
"They...did not just say...what I think they said." Tidus said in hushed tones.
"Well...ya, they did." Wakka said, grinning. "Are you really that surprised?"
"...yes?" he said shrilly, and then in a smaller voice: "You don't...um...really want to...do that again...?"
"Don't worry." Wakka said smoothly. "I wanna see how you feel in the morning first, ya?"
"Why?"
"Um, you know...you might get a little....sore."
"Oh." he said, nodding. And then, in a voice very much unlike his own; "What!?"
"I didn't mean sore as in sore." Wakka corrected himself quickly, cringing. "I meant sore like...you might wanna sleep in, or something."
"Don't lie to me." Tidus said, folding his arms crossly over his chest.
"Sorry." he said sheepishly.
"Yeah, well, I forgive you." said the blonde crisply. "But only because I have a feeling that if anybody else had done what you just did, they'd be a lot less understanding."
Wakka felt a smile touch his lips, and then Tidus was laughing, and for a moment he just wanted to lay down and die of happiness, die thanking Yeavon that he had made this little blonde boy next to him happy, that he had done something right for once, and when Tidus began whispering little half-hearted thanks. Now everything felt different, that now everything was going to change, it made him feel like laughing, too.
He drifted off in minutes, leaning on Wakka's chest and commenting on the way the beach would be different to them from now on. According to Tidus, everytime they'd go outside, they wouldn't be able to go near the water without getting lost in dirty thoughts, and, knowing how much they loved to play Blitzball, they'd both probably drown within seconds, grinning like idiots. But that was okay, because they'd still be grinning, and that always counted for something.
