The Bartender

DISCLAIMER: No one involved in the writing of the FF Heroes Lounge owns any of the characters or any of the settings that might be mentioned, aside from the lounge itself. I own the FF Heroes Lounge, and the concept thereof, tho other writers may come to own specific rooms. We are not out to make money off these fictions, or attempt to infringe on Square-Enix’s copyright. This is all in good fun, and should be taken as such.

A/N: Hi! This is Eerian Sadow. Some of you may recognize me for fanfiction.net. hooray for those of you who do. Welcome to my insanity: the Final Fantasy Heroes Lounge. I take full credit for this crazy idea. And I blame my roommates and some random stranger they played pool with for the whole thing. It’s all their fault. ;-) oh, yeah. Just so you know, the bartender, Skye, is an origonal character of mine. She’s featured in a FF RP that I run, as well as in one of my fanfics that will be up someday soon. She’s a blond with really pale white skin and crimson red eyes.

ADDITONAL WARNINGS: none for this fic, aside from some swearing and alcohol use.

Its always happy hour in the Heroes Lounge. The pitchers are always ten gil, and most of the shots are five. We’ve never had a ladies night, but that’s probably because most of the ladies who come in here would be pissed off because we implied they needed special treatment. And they really don’t.

There’s always an interestingly diverse crowd here too. Never know who’s gonna pop in for a drink, or a game of poker or pool. Or any of the hundred other things we offer to help a stressed hero unwind.

Tonight, Cloud Strife’s playing poker at the middle table with Auron, Zack, Princess Garnet and a girl I haven’t met before. But she came in with Irvine Kinneas, so she’s gotta be okay. And Irvine’s over at the pool table with Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind—that’s a weekly ritual there. Locke and Celes went into one of the back rooms about an hour ago, and Freya Crescent is playing darts with Laguna Loire. More will come in, I’m sure; the night is young.

So, who are you anyway? I don’t think I’ve seen you around. My name’s Skye; I built this place a long time ago. How long? I’m not sure—but when I built it those Light Warrior kids were just getting started, so its been a while.

Here, I think you need this copy of the banned customer list. People you can’t bring in here. No villains allowed, you know. And I don’t care how hot Sephiroth is; he tried to destroy the Planet, he can’t come in. And no Seifer, no Seymour, no Kuja. Doesn’t matter how their actions might have been justified—they were still anti-good guys, so they can’t come in.

So, can I get you anything? No? You sure? Well, if you change your mind, I’ll be over at the monopoly board with Lulu and Selphie. Huh? No, they just came in. Didn’t you hear the door?

Ah, don’t worry, kid. You’ll get used to things around here fast enough. The lounge is, above all, a place to have fun, without too many rules or constraints.

Sure, you can play too. Who’d want to pass up playing Monopoly with two of the most beautiful women in the universes? Yeah, me neither. But, you should know, we play with real money…
