Chaos was bored. Bored. Bored. BORED. Bored to near tears. It didn't help that Valentine had finally learned to ignore the demon, figuring that the only time the ex-Turk really needed to worry was when he was near limit break. The other demons had long since given up pestering Valentine...but that was mostly caused by their inability to either speak the human's language well or speak at all. But Chaos had finally discovered something that might stir them into helping him... and if all went as he planned, they would all benefit from the results.
~~
The nearby town looked highly inviting to the crew of heroes; after having just blearily wandered through a searing blizzard. Cloud easily bartered for rooms at the aptly named Icicle Inn, but he couldn't quite get everything he wanted.
"Okay," Cloud started, looking each of his traveling companions in the eye, "We're going to have to share rooms again, so pair up."
Tifa and Yuffie had no problem with sharing, but the boys weren't so happy. "Aw, com'on Spiky! You know I hate roomin'!" Barret whined.
"Well, I ain't gonna room with ya!" Cid vehemently protested, "I'd rather room with Vince here than yer loud ass!"
Vincent only glanced at the pilot for that; he had long since given up on trying to get Cid to call him by his full name. Cloud had been expecting most of these protests, though, and quickly quelled them as best he could.
"Fine. Cid, you and Vincent share a room. Barret and I will share the other."
Cid huffed and crossed his arms childishly, but further protests died on his lips. Barret let a slew of curses loose before he sullenly quieted.
"Cloud, where am I to sleep?" Nanaki asked, head tilted to the side in inquiry. Cloud stopped. "Uh-"
"Com'on Nanaki, you can room with us. We'll get you some blankets and make you a palette on the rug, 'kay?" Yuffie assured the cat.
Once that had been settled, Cloud, Tifa, and the levelheaded Nanaki went out to buy supplies while the rest of the group settled in. Barret fell asleep promptly after removing his boots and falling face first onto his bed.
Cid and Vincent entered their room with their things, in a mutual silence despite Cid's usually brash nature. Unbeknownst to the rest of the crew, the pilot and the ex-Turk often conversed after everyone else had gone to sleep in their tents and found that they could get along fairly well. Vincent, though, had a small secret he kept bottled up about the pilot. He always knew he was gay, and unfortunately lost Lucretia because of it. She knew long before he did, and he blamed himself for being in denial for so long and finally hurting someone he cared about because he couldn't come to terms with it. But, he kept that little corner of himself to himself. He was thankful that his demons had yet to find that to torment him with. Cid startled the black-haired man out of his reverie with an abrupt, but quiet question.
"Which bed d'ya want, Vince?"
He didn't answer verbally. He merely raised his shoulders in what passed as a shrug. Never the less, Cid got the message and claimed the bed closest to the door with a grunt. Vincent gave a little ghost smile behind his high collar at that. Always predictable, his pilot. Whoa, where had that come from? Vincent shook the thought away quietly and laid his bag and Winchester on his bed as he unclasped his cloak one handed. Once that heavy, red fabric was off his shoulders, he laid it beside his bag and unbuckled his hip gun holster, placing his pistol alongside the long-barreled shotgun. Boots were next, and he finally turned to face Cid's bed as he sat against his own. The pilot was in just his blue T-shirt, goggles, and canvas pants; everything else was stuffed in his duffel bag, and his spear was leaning against the wall. Cid was just about to light up one of his ever present cigarettes when a knock sounded at the door. Vincent quickly yet quietly threw his cloak back over his shoulders and faced the window in the opposite wall as Cid moved to open the door.
"Yeah? What d'ya want, kid?" The pilot 'politely' asked Yuffie as she bounced from one foot to the other.
"We're going down to the bar to get some dinner, you interested?" She looked past Cid to see Vincent's back.
"Aw...Is Vinnie angsting again?" She joked, but her smile faded at the look on Cid's face.
"Leave 'em alone, kiddo," He slightly growled the words, "And 'nah... Vince an' I ain't hungry."
"Okay, if you're sure..." Yuffie pestered a moment longer before Cid shooed her away. Once the door was once again securely shut, Vincent peered around his shoulder to be sure before removing his cloak and sighing.
"You okay?" Cid asked, gruff smoker's accent replaced with slight worry.
Vincent nodded and graced the pilot with a slight upturn of his lips before turning back to the window.
"Jus' checkin'..." Cid held up his hands in a placating gesture. Vincent turned back and sat on the edge of his bed, facing the pilot.
"Highwind," He started, waiting until he had Cid's attention, "I am quite capable of taking care of myself you know. Why didn't you go down to the bar with the others?"
"Did'n' want to. I ain't hungry an' I don't think you'd wanna room with me when I've gotta fuckin' hangover." Cid gave a little chuckle at that. Vincent sighed and gave into the tiny smile that graced his lips just then. "You thought correctly."
"Did...did you jus' make a joke?" The pilot asked; eyes wide. Scarlet eyes met widened blue with a slightly guilty expression.
"I...suppose I did." An awkward silence fell then.
"Well...g'night then..." Cid shrugged his shock away and flopped onto his back on his bed. Vincent followed suit soon after he turned out the lamp on the small table between them; listening to his roommate's soft snores as he curled up on his side and shut his eyes.

The plan was set and ready. Chaos only needed to tap into all four of the demon's reserve and wake their host. It paid to be ignored sometimes.
/Oh Valentine.../ He hissed quietly. The other three snickered and prepared to unleash their power.
'What, Chaos? I'm tired.' Came Vincent's annoyed response thought. /Oh nothing...just a little curious... /
'Spit it out. I'm not in the mood to guess.'
/Touchy! Well, I just wanted to know...exactly how long did you think it would take for us to find out? Because if you really thought you could hide it from us...you were sorely mistaken./ 'Hide what?'
/Oh, playing stupid now, are we? How long did you think it would take us to figure out you were gay? We live in your mind for crying out loud!/ Their host didn't respond at first. He was in too much shock. 'H-How did you...?'
/Fairly easily, Valentine. You see, when you ignore us, we can search your thoughts so much more easily... / Chaos chuckled as the shock and the pain of realization crossed Vincent's mind.
/Especially when you think about that dear pilot of yours... /
'Don't you dare lay a claw on him...' Vincent quickly responded, not quite realizing what he had revealed.
/Oh, ho! I was right, boys! We have a winner!/ The other demons joined in his chuckle before releasing their pent-up energy. Vincent was completely unprepared as his physical body felt like it was being wrapped in finely wound rope and pulled taunt. Vincent refused to panic just yet.
/Now, what to do...what to do... / Chaos chuckled as he calmly touched the back of his claw to Vincent's cheek The ex- Turk tried to snarl or pull his face away, but he couldn't move.
/Shall we play a game, Valentine?/ Chaos fluttered his wings as he laughed. Vincent felt the demons forcing his body to sit up and turn to lay blood-red eyes on the sleeping Cid.
/The pilot... wouldn't it be fun to ram your own claw through his stomach? Watch his eyes as the sky dies in them...his blood running all over those white sheets?/ 'Please stop...' Vincent would have sobbed had he not been under control.
Despite that, Chaos could hear it in the thought. The demon leisurely bared his sharp teeth in a mock smile.
/No... That's no fun...you have quite enough blood on your own hands... /
/Did'ja ferget our host's gay?/ Galian chimed in, smirking at Vincent's wince. Chaos allowed the grin to widen.
/Oh, yes...what of that? Why not have what you want? Take the pilot... make
him love you./ The demon's searing red eyes tore through Vincent's, laughing at the mix of fear and anger crossing them.
/Enough discussion./ Chaos stood, leaving Vincent to watch in horror as his physical body was forced to stand and slowly approach the peacefully snoring pilot.

Cid was having a wonderful dream. It was just him and Vincent on the Highwind; the others were preoccupied. Vincent was out of that thick cloak since it was just the two of them, and he was finally smiling. Not a completely, out-of-character, dream-induced smile; one of those amused ones the gunman got when Cid cracked a good joke. They were inching closer on the observation deck, both watching the beautiful day and each other. Centimeters from Vincent's face, Cid muttered, "Fuckin' beautiful..."
He was about to close the distance when he was rudely awakened by a loud crash.

Cid snapped awake, already reaching for his spear, when he realized who had woken him up. He gave the stumbling Vincent a once over; noticing the large gouge in the wall that was suspiciously claw-like.
"Vince! What the fuck are ya doin'?" The pilot sat up quickly and forced himself to wake fully. Vincent didn't respond.
"Hey! I asked you a fuckin' question! Are you okay?" Cid was beginning to panic. Vincent finally looked up, but something was off. Cid stared into his friend's eyes; the whites were completely washed out with red.
"Vincent?" Cid asked cautiously, moving slowly to either dive at or away from the ex-Turk. A crazed smile creeped over Vincent's features at that.
"There's no 'Vincent' here," The gunman growled, but just as suddenly whispered, "Highwind…run…”
"Why would I fuckin' run from ya, Vince?" Cid argued, yet still slipped into a crouch on his bed.
"I…I can't ...control... them," He ground out forcefully before his face split again with that creepy grin, "Shut it, Valentine."
"Oh...Shit…" Cid suddenly realized what was going on. He faked a leap to the door, which the possessed Vincent fell for and he easily pinned the lanky man to the floor with his formidable weight. Vincent snarled and thrashed as his eyes glazed over and his canines visibly lengthened.
"Going to kill you, Highwind!" the gunman roared.
"No ya aren't, demon. Vince is fuckin' in there somewhere an' yer gonna let him go. Now." Cid narrowed his blue eyes even as Vincent outright laughed at him.
Given, it was a crazed, angered laugh, but the first the pilot had ever heard come from his friend.
"Not just one of us, you know..." Vincent finally gasped out as his laugh died off. Cid finally did what he felt should have been done a while ago. The demons looked very surprised when they were suddenly looking at the opposite wall with a stinging pain in their cheek. Cid cursed as his hand stung with the force of the blow, but he hoped that had done the trick. Vincent turned back to look at the pilot levelly. Well, damn.
"How dare you..." The demons gathered their strength and forced Cid off, then pinned the pilot to the floor, "You're in for a world of hurt."
"Vince won't let ya! Com'on, Vince, snap outta this!" Cid yelled, hoping to break whatever hold the demons had on his Vincent.
"'Vince' wants this just as much as we do, Highwind." They used the endearment in a mocking tone as they forced Vincent to pin Cid's wrists to the floor over his head. Then, Cid felt his first real wave of panic. Vincent's claw laid itself on his stomach; the claws visibly twitching.
‘This is it...I'm gonna fuckin' die. I've pissed them off..' Cid closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable shredding of his frail, human body. It didn't come. Vincent lowered himself, and slowly kissed the pilot. The demons received quite a shock when Cid's eyes snapped back open and he opened his mouth to join in. Unfortunately, the shocked demons left themselves open. Vincent finally shook free of their hold and shoved them back in place, but not before he got to really see for himself that Cid was enjoying the kiss. Cid ended up finishing the kiss when Vincent went rigid and wouldn't respond to his prodding tongue.
"I'm gonna assume Vincent's back at the helm?"
"...Y-yes...I-I'm...I'm so sorry..." Vincent quickly untangled himself from the pilot and tried to get up.
"What the flyin' fuck are ya sorry about?" Cid angrily asked, easily pulling the gunman back onto the floor with him, but Vincent wouldn't move from his squat. "I couldn't stop them...I almost hurt you..."
"Bullshit. If those bastards had really wanted me dead, you wouldn't have fuckin' let them." Cid retorted. Cloud picked this exact moment to force open the door to their room, sword brandished.
"Are you guys okay? I heard something fall!" Cloud glanced around quickly, but realized no one else was in the room. Cid glanced up with a grimace. "Vince was havin' a damn nightmare. We're fine."
Yes...nightmare...wasn't it a wonderful nightmare though? Chaos chuckled even as he was shoved back into the recesses of Vincent's mind.
"Oh...well...if you're sure...?" Cloud pestered a moment longer before he was shooed away in much the same manner as Yuffie had been. Cid shut the door after the blonde and turned back to see Vincent already standing and trying to avoid the pilot's gaze.
"I'm gonna ask you a question, Vince, an' I want an answer."
"Of course." Vincent was barely audible, but Cid heard him well enough. The blonde sighed and ran a hand through his ruffled hair.
"We're they lyin', or did you really want that kiss? An' don't give me some long- winded explanation. Yes or no?"
Vincent stood silent for a moment, contemplating what his answer would do to their frail friendship. Chaos wasn't helping matters at all.
"...Yes. I...I did want it..." The ex-Turk spared a glance at his companion, afraid of what he might find shining in those blue eyes. He didn't find what he thought he would. Cid was smiling.
"Well that's a relief..." he laughed, "Do ya really like a mean old ass like me?"
"Yes I do. This isn't funny, Highwind." Vincent narrowed his eyes at the pilot.
"An' I never said it was, Vince." Cid's laughter died down as he stepped closer to the gunman. Despite Vincent being nearly a foot taller, Cid easily pulled him down and kissed him again. Vincent was not expecting the celebratory cheers his demons were giving.

*WHOO! WARNING! STOP READING HERE IF YOU'RE NOT A SICK, SICK LITTLE MOO COW!!!*

Chaos smiled knowingly as he and the other demons retreated from Vincent's forethoughts after cheering and whooping their victory. Hey, he may be an ass, but they all were about to benefit from this event...and maybe those to follow.
'Chaos!' Vincent called out, 'Why are you happy for me?'
/Because, Valentine...we've discovered something ourselves./ Chaos mysteriously answered
'What is that?' Vincent pestered.
/Well…to put it bluntly so you will leave me alone and return to the present,/ Chaos chuckled at the sigh he received, /When you gain sexual release...so do we./
Vincent was silent.
/It's been years, Valentine. Don't mind the audience./
The ex-Turk blushed hotly at that, 'I'm still a virgin, you ass!'
/We know./ The demons chuckled at that, and the flustered Vincent finally let them be.

Cid noticed when he lost Vincent to his thoughts. Though, that didn't mean he had stopped kissing back. He gave the gunman's shoulder a light squeeze before breaking for air to find Vincent back to the present. "Conversin' with 'em?"
"You could say that..." Vincent shrugged before pulling Cid back to Cid's bed. The pilot willingly followed, but gave the ex-Turk a playful smile as he pinned Vincent against the soft mattress; his body lying lightly between Vincent's spread legs.
"Will they let you bottom?" Cid asked cautiously despite the smile on his stubbled face. He received a nod and proceeded to kiss his black-haired companion stupid.
"I need to learn before I can lead, Highwind." Vincent gave into the smile threatening to split his lips as Cid's eyes widened.
"Wait, you're a fuckin' virgin ?!" The pilot nearly removed himself from the gunman, but he was pulled back down gently by the claw. "I have no qualms with you being my first."
Cid was quiet for a moment before realizing a small problem. "Fine. But I refuse ta hurt ya for yer first damn time..."
"You may use my gun oil." Vincent offered, easily picking out Cid's worries. The pilot moved off of the gunman and quickly yet carefully searched Vincent's bag for said oil. He returned and placed the bottle on the table between their beds before picking up Vincent's legs and laying them on the bed so he wasn't hanging off any longer. He climbed up on top of the ex-Turk and laid himself back between newly spread legs, lightly rubbing his erection against Vincent's. He received a stifled moan for his trouble and quickly moved to slip his tongue back into his lover's mouth to stifle any more sounds. Couldn't have anyone walking in on them, now could they? Vincent moved his left arm to clutch at the headboard; claws digging into the wood as he gripped it tightly, and broke the kiss with a small smile. Cid moved down, lightly nipping at the gunman’s throat while his hands quickly unbuttoned Vincent’s shirt. Vincent was quite unaware of the fact that his clothes were being removed until Cid’s calloused hand brushed against his nipple. A surprised sound escaped Vincent’s throat as he wrapped his human arm across his chest. But, Cid lightly pinned his arms and smiled.
“No angsting durin’ sex. I want all of ya, Vince, even that part.”
Vincent slowly nodded and took a deep breath, trusting Cid. He ignored the angered scoldings of his inner demons for his slip-up, and slowly removed his own shirt for good measure. Cid quietly sat up and divested himself of his shirt to even the playing field. The pilot leaned forward and licked at the ex-Turk’s newly bared chest and lightly nipped at his nipples. Vincent stifled his moans, keeping as quiet as humanly possible, and whimpered at Cid’s ministrations. The pilot’s hands moved south to unbuckle belts and remove the last few barriers between their warm flesh. Once their pants hit the floor, they were a mass of tangled limbs and hushed moans as Cid retrieved the oil and slicked his fingers. Vincent tried to relax as Cid carefully pressed against his opening, finally slipping a finger inside and ever so cautiously thrusting inside. Vincent squirmed and hissed, but suddenly stopped as the pilot’s finger brushed over a certain bunch of nerves. The gunman let out a low groan and clutched Cid’s shoulder with his human hand while the pilot added more fingers to stretch the virgin hole.
“Stop…teasing…Highwind…” Vincent hissed as he bucked against the invading fingers. Cid chuckled.
“Sure yer ready?” The pilot received a glare for that, so he pulled his fingers free and spread a good coat of lube onto his cock. Vincent lifted his legs and tossed his head back, gasping for air before holding himself rigid as Cid slid himself in.
“Vince, relax. It’ll hurt if ya don’t relax…” Cid slowed his thrust, waiting for the gunman to stop tensing. Vincent finally sighed and calmed himself, allowing the pilot to suddenly slide the rest of his aching shaft inside his lover.
“God, ya feel wonderful, Vince…” Cid groaned. After that, it was a blur to both of them, finally coming to an abrupt overload of senses and crashing down to exhaustion. Vincent realized he was having trouble breathing because Cid had collapsed on top of him. He let a small smile grace his lips before he gently removed the other man and laid him to the side. Cid growled at the movement, but happily spooned the gunman once he was released. Both were incredibly tired now, and Vincent was just about to drift off when Cid’s gruff voice interrupted his thoughts.
“An’ now fer the million dollar question…do ya want everyone ta know, or not?”
Vincent’s head snapped up and gave Cid a pleading look. Cid chuckled as he reached over and retrieved their clothes from the floor. Once he and the gunman were decent, Cid wrapped his arm around Vincent’s middle as the ex-Turk softly pressed his back to the pilot’s chest. A contented sigh escaped Vincent before he finally allowed his eyes to drift shut.
“An’ if ya can hear me, demons, ya could’a jus’ asked.” Cid scowled before smirking and cuddling against his love.

Chaos and the others calmly smirked to themselves as their host drifted off to sleep, ignoring Cid’s snide after-comment. They were happily sated and tired for the first time since they had been forced to room in Vincent’s head. The gunman was about to have his most peaceful sleep in a long time.
/Good night, Valentine./ Chaos sleepily sighed.
