Summary: Cloud/Sephiroth, AU. Cloud and Sephiroth are being plagued by nightmares that stem from a mission gone wrong. Realizing that the nightmares won't be leaving, he seeks out the one person who may be able to put an end to them.

"Hey Cid." Cloud said as he entered the back office of their coffee shop.
Cid fixed his blue eyes on his partner and furrowed his brow. "Spike, you look like shit."
Cloud gave him a grim smile and sat heavily into the chair across from the former pilot. He ran his hand down his face and sighed. "Its not hard to look like shit when you feel like shit. I didn't get much sleep last night."
Cid popped another piece of nicorette gum and nodded. Shera had insisted that he stop smoking when she found out she was pregnant a month ago. "Nightmares again?"
"Yeah...I don't know why they've come back so suddenly. It's been over six months since the last one." He said letting his frustration show.
Cloud and Cid were both trained soldiers. They had a small group of close friends within their platoon. Cloud, Cid, Zack, Barret and Sephiroth watched each other's backs and even carried Barret back to the barracks when he got too drunk while on leave.
The nightmares stemmed from a mission they had been called up for. They were the most highly trained extraction team on their base and since Cid was the best pilot on the base, he was chosen to fly their small group into the war-torn Iraq.
The hostage that they had been sent to rescue was found dead not far from the location where he was being held. On the way back to their black hawk helicopter, the group was captured and tortured for days. Sephiroth was able to overpower one of the guards and they made their escape. Surprisingly, their helicopter was still at the location where they had landed, hidden it amongst the mountainous terrain.
By the time they had made it back into friendly territory, Barret and Sephiroth were in a coma and Zack, Cid and Cloud were not fairing much better. Their injuries had been severe and it stunned the doctors that they had survived. Barret's injuries had been the most severe and eventually had led to him losing his arm. They all received honorable discharges and various medals before trying to move on with their lives.
Zack started his own restaurant.
Sephiroth got his degree in education and was now the principal at a nearby school.
Barret came back and continued to raise his daughter with his second wife, Elmyra.
They all had nightmares for years, but the ones that Cloud had been having as of late had been horrible.
"Cloud, take the day off." Cid commanded gently as he shuffled the stack of inventory papers.
"I will, I just have to hand out paychecks. I'll be leaving after the last shift gets here...that's only an hour away." He said, putting his head down on the desk.
Cid sighed and shook his head. He knew that there was no way to get Cloud to change his mind after he had already made a decision. The pilot began writing once more and let a small smile grace his lips as he finished the inventory.

A sigh filled the small room followed with a creak of a chair. Sephiroth leaned back in the chair, unable to concentrate on the work that needed to be done. Groaning faintly, he pushed a couple fingers against his temple rubbing it. Nightmares had plagued his mind once more and the guilt he thought was gone was returning.
Jade green orbs looked up at the ceiling, watching the fan spin above his head. 'I need to pay a visit to him...' he thought to himself, thinking of a certain blonde. 'I wonder if he is haunted every night as I am...'
Shaking his head, he forced himself to get back to work. The sooner he got this work done, the sooner he would be able to leave the school. He would not have to stay late and he could possibly visit the blonde he had the desired to see.
Sephiroth stretched out within his chair, glad that he could finally leave. Pushing back from the desk, he stood up and grabbed his trench coat from the coat rack, slipping it over his broad shoulders. He pushed the chair in before slipping into a pair of black leather gloves, turned off the light and exited the room.
"I will see you tomorrow Val." He waved to the woman sitting at a desk in the main office. She gave him a friendly smile and wave before going back to her own work. Exiting the office, he quickly walked through the halls, out of the building and started walking towards the coffee shop he knew quite well.
It took him no time at all to reach the shop; his long legs and fast strides making time pass by as if nothing. A large hand pushed the door open and he slipped in with a smooth, fluid movement. Sharp jade green eyes looked around, seeing if he could spot what he was searching for.
Not finding what he wanted, he walked to the counter. He spoke with one of the workers, who told him that Cloud was still within his office in the back. Giving an appreciative nod, he quickly strode past everyone and everything.
He stopped at the door, gloved hand half-raised. 'Should I really see him...?' he thought to himself for a moment. 'Yes, I must see him,' he told himself in a stern voice. Giving a nod, he knocked softly at the door.
After a few tries of getting no answer, he opened up the door slightly and peered in. A smirk graced his lips as he watched the blonde passed out on his desk. He pushed the door open a little wider so he could slip in but then closed it softly behind him.
Sephiroth walked over to the desk, that smirk still tracing his lips. Bending down low, he let his lips become inches from his ear. "Cloud," he whispered faintly, knowing this was the only way to wake the blonde up.
Cloud groaned and opened an eye within his folded arms. At first he thought it was a dream, but when he heard his name called a second time his head lifted from is arms and looked up to see jade green eyes that could only belong to one man.
"Sephiroth...Seph?" He blinked to clear his vision and looked to the silver haired man. "It is you…its been a long time..." He said, standing and pulling the man into a brief hug and gesturing for him to sit down.
Cloud was really glad to see him. The nightmares had even started to infiltrate the short naps he had been forced to take as of late. The image of Sephiroth slumping out of his seat in the black hawk helicopter as he fell into a coma had haunted him this time...
He looked into the green eyes and saw something that had been reflected in his own...weariness. "You too?" he asked quietly.
Only then did he notice that they had company. The little girl ran and jumped into his arms. "Cloudy!"
He smiled and pulled her into his lap. "Hi sweetie, where's your mom?"
"Workin'." Kiki said happily.
Cloud pulled out a marker and a pen and let the little girl draw as he turned his attention back to his visitor. "How have you been, Seph?"
Sephiroth sat down, a small smile gracing his lips. "It has been a long time..." he muttered softly, staring the blonde across from him. At hearing his question, a gloved hand moved to run through his long silver hair.
"Stressed." was his curt answer, looking down at the small girl. "How have you been Cloud?" his voice was smooth and rich as he spoke.
Kiki clapped happily and giggled. "Yay!" She looked at Sephiroth and blinked once. "Hiiiii! I'm Kiki! What's your name?" She smiled cutely at Sephiroth.
The silver-haired man smiled at the small girl, jade green eyes glowing brightly. "Hello Kiki. It is nice to meet such a smart girl. My name is Sephiroth but you can call me Seph," he murmured softly to the girl. He watched the girl for a few moments before looking back up to Cloud, still waiting for an answer. Kiki began humming quietly to a soft melodic song her mother always seemed to hum when she was happy.
Cloud sighed and moved Kiki to sit in Cid's chair after giving her more paper and different color pens. He made sure she was occupied before turning back to the silver haired man with a sigh. "I don't know...I've been having nightmares again. I don't know what triggers them but I am not going to see that doctor at the Veteran's hospital again.
"I was wondering how you've been...you're the only one I haven't heard from in a while and I was thinking that I was going to have to come hunt you down. You know my tracking skills." Cloud said with a weary smile. "Cid, Barret, and Zack haven't been having dreams at all..." The blonde let out a short bark of laughter. "Lucky bastards." He mumbled so Kiki wouldn't hear him.
"The business has been going extremely well, and our employees are great. Cid's wife is pregnant and her daycare business is doing well."
He looked up at the jade-eyed man. "You've been having nightmares." He stated simply.
Sephiroth gave a curt nod to the blonde, knowing he would not be able to hide it. There was no reason to really since he had searched out the young man to talk with him about the nightmares. "Yes, they are plaguing my mind once more. I know not the reason they have started again. It does comfort me, in a strange way, that I am not the only one." Lips straightened out, jade eyes glowing faintly in the light.
"I do apologize for not speaking with you more often. I have been quite busy for the time being which has caused me to not come and see you." His lip twitched slightly in an attempt at a weary smile. Jade orbs looked over at the girl.
"Is there perhaps a chance we can speak alone?"
Cloud nodded and looked over to the little girl who had started humming again. "Kiki sweetie?"
"Yes Cloudy?" She said with a smile.
"I want you to do something for me. Can you draw me a picture of the coffee shop? Make sure you put you and your mommy, and don't forget to put Jase in it." He said, picking her up as she scooped up her pens and papers.
"Okay Cloudy!" She said happily as Cloud carried her back out front. He locked eyes with Aerith for a moment and gave her a weak smile before sitting Kiki down at a table near the bar. He walked into the back room and took his seat.
"I understand about being busy. I don't think I'll be going to my job at the fight school tonight...I just don't have the energy to do anything." Cloud said sadly.

Sephiroth shifted in his chair, a few silver strands falling over his face. Jade green orbs glowed softly as he stared at the blonde across from him. "I was wanting to speak with you about the nightmares... And perhaps about us..." he said softly.
A gloved hand ran through his silver hair. Jade green orbs averted from him, a faint sigh leaving his lips. "...They all concern you, Cloud. The guilt left for a while but now... Now it is back and hitting harder than ever..."
Cloud nodded and placed his elbows on his knees, burying his face in his hands. He groaned at the memory of his latest dream. "I just keep seeing you...and how badly you were injured when they tossed you back into the cell..."
*-*-*Flashback*-*-*
Cloud sat in his cell with Barret, Cid and Zack with his arms wrapped around his knees waiting for their missing friend to be brought back. "Come on you bastards...." He mumbled under his breath. Sephiroth had been gone for over three hours...over two hours longer than any of them had been gone.
Finally the door to their cell creaked open and a bloody and battered form was thrown to the ground. A Cloud of dust sprouted from the ground as the door was slammed shut. "Sephiroth!"
Cloud crawled over to the silver haired man and pulled him to him so that Sephiroth's head was resting in his lap. He looked down into determined jade eyes and saw the hidden pain within them. Those eyes would haunt him for the rest of his days.
Cid and Zack made their way over to the two men as Barret watched from his spot on the cot, not having the energy to move. Cloud looked up and stared at the two. "Rest, I'll take care of him." Cloud commanded gently.
He pushed blood soaked hair away from his friend face. Sephiroth caught his hand and made Cloud look at him. "We will get out of here...I won't die in this hellhole..." He said in a tone that demanded to be believed.
*-*-*End Flashback*-*-*
"I was so afraid that you were going to die...and there was nothing that I could do. There was just so much blood, I can't believe that you were able to subdue that guard and make it to the helicopter with us under your own strength." He whispered. He knew that if Sephiroth had collapsed on the way back….well that would have meant both of their lives. Cloud would have helped him get back or died trying.
"I did what I had to Cloud. I was not going to let any of you die in that hellhole," he whispered softly, looking at the blonde with sympathetic eyes. Slowly he got up from his spot and walked around the desk. He knelt down next to the blonde, moving the chair so he would be facing him.
Unable to think of what to say, he wrapped his arms around the blonde and pulled him close to him. A silent understanding of what the blonde was going through was seeping through his form into the blonde's from this simple embrace. It was so nice to hold him like this once more.
After a few moments, his hand trailed up to grasp at his cheek softly. Green and blue met for a few moments before Sephiroth crushed his lips deep against Cloud's. Though he knew he should not do this, he could not help but want the warmth he had once had. "Cloud..." he murmured out faintly, pushing deeper into the kiss.
After the initial shock wore off, Cloud pushed eagerly back into the kiss. He had really missed this man. Sephiroth had been his rock and his reason to try and stay alive in the prison. The blond man slipped down to the floor and wrapped his arms around the silver haired man.
Breathless, he broke the kiss and kissed along Sephiroth's jaw. "Sephiroth...I have really missed you...It's been so long..."
His hands roamed down the silver haired man's back to cup his firm rear. Sephiroth may have an office job, but he was in excellent shape. "Seph...do you really want to do this here?" He said huskily before kissing him deeply.
Sephiroth grinned and suckled upon the blonde's bottom lip for a moment before pulling back. "Yes... If we leave, then I shall stop this..." he purred out huskily, large hands already roaming over Cloud's body.
Fingers trailed down his side before stopping at Cloud's waist, his fingers pressing lightly into his flesh. Jade green looked into blue once more, lust swirling within his pools before he claimed Cloud's neck. The silver-haired man nibbled softly at the blond's flesh while he thrust his hips up, grinning when he heard his lover groan out.
"Oh gods..." Cloud moaned when he felt his lovers hardened flesh press against him through the material of his slacks. He pulled Sephiroth's hips closer and began rubbing his own jean-covered member against the jade eyed mans in slow, torturous strokes.
Sephiroth met every one of Cloud's thrusts causing the blonde man to smirk. He released his right hand from his lover and arched his back, reaching over to lock the door. He quickly came back up and eagerly tasted Sephiroth's lips. His hands came forward and quickly worked at the buttons to his lover's shirt and tossed it onto a nearby chair.
The blonde man gasped. He was just a beautiful as he remembered. "Sephiroth, I don't know how I lasted this long without you...I missed you so much."
"I have missed you Cloud..." he purred out smoothly, fingers pulling at the edge of the blonde's shirt before pulling it up and over his head. A grin graced his lips, jade green orbs looking at his lover's well-toned chest.
"Perfect..." he purred out again before moving his head down so he could capture one of the pert nipples within his lips. Hearing the groan, he continued to suckle at it while one hand held onto his hips and the other squeezed the blonde's firm ass.
After a few moments, he quickly switched to the other nipple. Sephiroth just could not get enough groans that were leaving Cloud's luscious lips. "Cloud..." he growled, his hard member brushing against the blonde's thigh.
Cloud groaned loudly and reached down to the waistband of his loves hand. He slowly unzipped Sephiroth's slacks and reached into the man's silk boxers. He gently wrapped his hand around the throbbing shaft and smiled against his cheek.
"Seph...I really need you right now...please...will you chase away my nightmares?" He asked as he continued to stroke him and kissed him hard before he had a chance to answer.
A loud moan left Sephiroth's lips, feeling the warm flesh stroke his hard member. The lips that were pressed hard against his did not help in the least. His hand squeezed hard upon the blonde's ass as he instinctively thrust into his lover's hand. Breaking the kiss, he forced Cloud to let go of his throbbing member for the moment.

Cloud looked into jade eyes with heavy lidded blue and moaned at the thought of what was about to happen. "Second drawer on the left." He said and watched as his lover quickly reached into the drawer and pulled out a bottle of hand lotion.
"Seph...hurry..." He said as watched the silver haired man poured a liberal amount on his long, elegant fingers. He saw the questions in Sephiroth's eyes and nodded with a gentle smile.
Pleasure ran like fire through his veins and he held back the urge to scream as two fingers were inserted into the ring of tight muscle. He felt the tips of the silver haired god's fingers brush against his prostate and pulled his lover down, whimpering into his mouth.
Fingers were pushed deeply into his lover, stretching out the beautiful blonde writhing beneath him. A smirk traced Sephiroth's lips as he was pulled down towards Cloud with soft whimpers being pushed into his mouth. The silver-haired man was quick to pour lotion into his hand once more but this time lubing up his hard member. Groans were stifled while he stroked his member; it twitched with the touch and desire to feel Cloud's warmth.
Positioning himself in front of Cloud's opening, he pushed his lips deep into Cloud's and used his free hand to entwine fingers. After taking a few deep breaths, he rolled his hips, causing the ex-extraction specialist to hiss with pleasure. His lover began thrusting in smooth but powerful motions. Cloud pulled him close and kissed along the green eyed mans neck. When he reached crook of his neck he bit down, marking his lover. "You're mine..." He panted.

After placing a soft kiss on his lips, he turned and quickly got dressed into his usual attire. An old handkerchief was pulled out from his coat, which he proceed to wipe his belly off with before letting his shirt become buttoned all the way. Jade green eyes then looked up, watching Cloud get dressed. A faint sight left his lips and he walked over, pulling Cloud close to him. "No one must know... not yet..." he said sadly.
Cloud placed his head on Sephiroth's chest and let out a sad sigh. "I know love..." he said, tightening his grip on this silver haired man."Sephiroth...we've been separated for so long...I didn't realize how much I missed you until now. I guess I tried to deny how I felt about you and began pouring myself into running my shop and working at the fight school." He gave a self-depreciating chuckle.
"I should have known that wouldn't work. I shouldn't have waited for you to come to me."
A gloved hand ran though the golden locks, loving how his fingers smoothly ran through them. "Do not feel bad, Cloud. I did the same as you and it just came to the point where I just had to see you. I apologize Cloud...for taking so long," he said sadly, pulling the blonde closer against him.
"Can you forgive what I have done to you?" he asked, letting his face become buried in the crook of the blonde's neck. Fingers pressed hard into his waist as he held tightly to the man in his arms. He felt that if he let go, he would lose the one thing that made his life complete. Cloud was all that kept his guilt and nightmares far away.
Cloud pulled him close and placed a kiss on strands of silver hair. He felt Sephiroth's grip tighten and pulled him closer. "I can't forgive you, because there is nothing to forgive. You haven't done anything wrong, but if you feel as if you need my forgiveness, then you have it, but you will have to forgive me as well."
He pulled back a bit and watched as his lover brought his head up. Before he could say anything, the blonde captured soft lips with his own and kissed him deeply, wrapping his arms around the taller mans' narrow waist.
"No one has to know...and we won't allow anyone to find out until we're ready." He studied the god-like face of his lover and gave him a sad smile. "When is the last time you slept? You look better than I do, but still tired. Come home with me? We could both use the rest."
A rare smile graced his lips as he stared down at the blonde. He brought his hand up to grasp Cloud's chin, pulling him just centimeters from his lips. "You do not need to ask Cloud. I would follow you even if you did not ask." he purred out softly before claiming those luscious lips.
Slowly he pulled away from the blonde, letting his gaze wander up and down for a moment. "You never do change your attire do you?" he smirked out, pushing back a few silver strands that fell onto his face.
Cloud smiled and looked down to his jeans and shirt. "Well, I don't usually have an occasion to dress up. Besides, I attracted a certain ex-soldier turned principal didn't I?" He said with a wink as he began replacing the stuff that had been knocked off the desk, back in their spots. He wrote a note for Cid, picked up the paychecks and his keys before closing the safe and finally leading his lover from the office.
They walked out of the office normally and saw that there were only a few customers in the shop. Kiki waved at him before turning back to her drawing as he walked to the counter. "Here's your checks." He handed them to his two employees. "Aerith, I need you to give Jason and Sam theirs when they come in. If they don't show up, slide the checks under the door. I'll see you both Monday."
With that, he led Sephiroth out of the coffee shop and to his SUV. The trip back to his apartment was quick and as they walked up the stairs, he pulled out his phone and ordered Chinese to be delivered. Keys were pulled out and he allowed Sephiroth to enter before he did. "Make yourself at home." He said with a smile as he went to the guest room.
Cloud searched through the closet there and found a pair of pajama bottoms and a shirt that his cousin had left when visiting and took them back out front. "These should fit you. There's a shower in the master bedroom as well as in the hall, you can use either one. I'll wait for the delivery boy while you get cleaned up." He said before pulling Seph down for a quick kiss.
A smirk traced his lips, an arm wrapping tightly around Cloud's waist and pulling him tight against him. "A shame you cannot join me," he purred against lips before he claimed them in a hot, passionate kiss. The silver-haired man just could not get enough of Cloud's taste, having missed it so much.
Fingers moved down to squeeze at the blonde's ass, before letting go and slinking off towards the bathroom in the hallway. The door closed behind him and he let out a soft sigh. His large frame fell against the doorway as he tossed the clothes onto the toilet seat. "Please let me have this..." he whispered out in a saddened voice, jade green orbs looking up at the ceiling. With another sigh, he pushed off the door and walked over to the shower.
The water was turned onto scolding hot, just the way he loved his showers. Trench coat was slipped off his shoulders and sat upon the sink. Heavy black boots were slipped off, clunking on the floor as he dropped them. Shirt, boxers, pants and socks were then taken off and folded upon the sink on top of the coat.
Once all clothing was off, he slipped into the shower under the pounding water droplets. A soothing sigh left his lips as he stood under the water for a moment, enjoying the heat on his pale skin.

Ten minutes after Sephiroth left for the shower there was a knock at the door. "Just a second." Cloud called as he came from his bedroom in a robe and boxers. He opened the door and paid the delivery boy, glad that the restaurant was only two buildings away.
The shower was still running so he turned on the empty microwave for two minutes and after the bell went off, placed the food inside to keep it warm. He went down the hall and knocked lightly on the door, but got no answer.
Turning the knob, he walked inside the steamy room and saw his love simply standing beneath the cascading water. His skin had a beautiful red tint to it and his hair was plastered to his skin.
Cloud swallowed and came forward. Without thinking, he removed his robe and boxers climbing in behind the man and pulling him close. He grabbed the soap and gently began soaping up his back, making sure to work the taut muscles as he cleansed his lovers' skin. He turned Sephiroth to face him and saw beautiful jade eyes staring back at him through heavy eyelids.
"Seph..."
"Cloud..." he purred out lustfully, jade green orbs looking up and down his naked frame. Unable to control himself, he was on the blonde within seconds. Lips pressed hard against Cloud's, tongue forcing his way into his lover's mouth. Hands roamed all over the toned muscle of his back and he pressed his lover against the cool tile of the shower.
A low groan left his lips as his growing erection rubbed against his lover's thigh. He pulled his lips away from Cloud's but then was attacking his neck with soft nibbles and licks. Fingers grasped the blonde's ass while his other hand roamed to the juncture in his lover's legs, feeling the growing penis. Merely feeling it made another low groan leave his lips, though this one filled with much lust and hunger for the small man pinned against the wall.

Cloud felt himself growing hard and moans escaped his lips at his lover's slightly rough treatment. His own hands ran down Sephiroth's tone stomach grasped him, stroking the already hardened flesh firmly.
The blonde man used his free hand to pull Sephiroth's head down and kiss him deeply, nipping at his bottom lip. Need was building in him so rapidly, it was almost painful. "I love you..." He whispered as he reached over for the bottle of conditioner.
Cloud coated Sephiroth's impressive manhood with the slick cream and turned to face the shower tile. Gently, he took hold of the hard member and placed it at the entrance. He moaned loudly, no longer having to hold back his cries of passion as she pushed back quickly, impaling himself on his love.
The warmth that enveloped Sephiroth's throbbing member made him loose all self-control. Fingers gripped tightly at his lover's hips as he thrust powerfully into the man. His free hand moved to the front of his lover, gripping the hard member and beginning to stroke in time with his thrusts. The moans that were escaping the writhing man beneath him only edged him on further.
Sephiroth could feel his climax growing closer and closer with each thrust. Suddenly he heard Cloud cry out his name loudly, his body spasming beneath him. Warm, hot seed spilled out over his hand and onto the tile. The tight ring surrounding his penis tightened and that was all that he needed.
"Uhn... Cloud!" he groaned out loudly, his hot seed spilling into his lover as the blonde cried out, coating the shower tiles with his essence. Fingers tightened around the blonde's waist to the point of leaving bruises. The climax washed over him in waves but it slowly died out, leaving him panting and leaning against the blonde.
After a few moments, he pulled his limp organ back and stepped back into the pelting hot droplets. A hand reached out and wrapped around Cloud's waist, pulling him tight against him. The water cascaded down both of them, washing away all remnants of what had just happened. "I am sorry..." he said softly, jade green eyes watching as bruises began to form on his perfect hips.
Cloud smiled and closed his blue eyes as he placed his head against Sephiroth's chest, listening to the slowing heartbeat. "Don't apologize...I never want to hear you apologize after we make love."
He kissed his lover and grabbed the soap. "Besides...that was amazing..." He said huskily as they took turns soaping each other's bodies.
Once rinsed, Cloud turned off the water and swayed slightly as his exhaustion began to overtake him. "Let's hurry and eat, I don't know how much longer I can stay upright. " He said, slipping drying his body and slipping on a pair of boxers and leaving his robe on the counter.
He removed the food from the microwave to find that it was still warm enough to eat and quickly prepared two plates. He took them into the living room where his lover was sitting. "Thank gods it's the weekend..." Cloud said before digging into the food.

Their meals were quickly devoured and the leftovers were put in the fridge. Cloud made sure the front door was locked before taking the platinum haired man's hand and leading him to the bedroom. The blonde smiled and removed his boxers before climbing into bed. He wanted to feel the warmth of his lover as he slept. Pulling the blankets up, he patted the other side of the bed and waited for Sephiroth to crawl in.

Sephiroth smiled at the blonde lying upon the bed, waiting for him to crawl into the bed. The shirt and pants were discarded with ease. Long strides carried him over to the bed and he slipped onto the cool mattress. A slight shudder ran up his spine and he quickly pulled the blankets over his large frame. An arm wrapped around Cloud's waist, pulling him tight against him.
A soft kiss was placed on his lover's cheek before his head fall back against the pillow. Jade green eyes closed halfway, watching his lover within his arms. "I love you Cloud Strife," he whispered out softly actually letting the exhaustion ragging through his body seep out into his voice. With a contented sigh, he pulled Cloud up tighter against him and let his eyes close. Sleep slowly began to take over his mind and body; a much needed rest that he knew would be nightmare free.
