Yawning loudly the SOLDIER made his way up to his apartment door while blinking sleepily. Nothing sounded more appealing than sliding under warm covers, and drifting off to sleep while holding the recruit in his arms.
Letting a small smile appear on his face he lazily opened the front door and stepped in while shedding his coat and his shoes. He seemed to be doing everything automatically, he already felt like he was asleep he was so tired. Glancing at the clock in the living room he frowned, he was at the office way longer than he had expected. And the bad thing was he still had to wake up early in the morning.
Stretching a bit he moved towards the bedroom and gently pushed open the door so as not to wake the sleeping blonde. He was about halfway in the room when he really focused on the bed and noticed that the usual outline of a certain blonde tucked under the blankets wasn’t there. Rubbing at his eyes he stepped back out of the room and trudged into the living room. Cloud left? Why would he leave, the SOLDIER thought he was staying over. Glancing at the door he noticed that Cloud’s gym bag and his shoes were missing, looked like he had left after all.
“Clouudd,” Zack whined sleepily while making his way towards the kitchen. He figured that maybe the boy left because he didn’t want to stay alone, he had mentioned something like that to him before. Or maybe he realized he had homework or something and had to go back to the barracks.
“Ow!” Stepping back a bit when he had just reached the kitchen he glanced down at the floor to see what it was he had stepped on. He saw a sliver of glass on the ground before he realized that there were many other pieces of broken glass surrounding that one and also a shattered vase that once held the beautiful flowers that also now littered his kitchen. Freezing for a moment he took in the strange picture before his eyes traveled over the rest of the kitchen, locking onto the wall across from him that now had a hole in it.
What the…? His eyes widened a bit as he looked from the wall back down to the floor. This was definitely…not a comforting scene to come back home too. He felt his stomach drop as his mind started to race. What had happened here? Where was Cloud? Was he okay? Did somebody break in while he was gone? No, who would break into his apartment?
Pushing his thoughts aside he dashed out of the kitchen and grabbed his keys, now fully awake. He wasn’t sure what had happened there but he was sure as hell going to find out, but more importantly he was going to find Cloud.
******************************************************************
It was pretty cold outside but now that he had been sitting out on the bench for the past two hours he had become pretty immune to it. Or maybe he was just going numb, which would be good actually…maybe it would numb some of his pain. Besides he didn’t know where else to go. He didn’t want to go back to his room and he just HAD to get out of Zack’s. Basically he just wanted to be separate from anything Shinra at the moment, it seemed to be jinxed. Sighing he closed his eyes, the eyes that were usually so beautiful to look at now only held hurt and sadness in them. He refused to shed anymore tears, but it didn’t look like that was working. He didn’t understand why he was so upset, if he was nothing to Zack then Zack should be nothing to him, he shouldn’t be worth his tears. And yet…he was. Holding back another sob he buried his face in his hands as fresh tears sprang from his eyes.
Why can’t I just forget about it!? Who cares anyway, I don’t need Zack! I was doing fine before without him, I don’t need him…
“You are aware that it is well past curfew are you not?”
Tensing up for a moment the blonde’s breath caught in his throat upon hearing the voice. Pulling his hands away from his tear streaked face he nodded slightly.
“Yes sir…sorry sir,” he spoke weakly while wiping away some stray tears.
Keeping his face unreadable the General let his jade eyes pierce into the others. He didn’t seem to be affected by the blonde’s tears or his red puffy eyes.
“Breaking curfew is grounds for punishment,” Sephiroth continued.
“I…I know. I just…didn’t want to be inside,” Cloud replied softly while picking himself up from off the bench.
“You’re upset,” the General said, or rather stated.
Cloud dropped his eyes to the ground while sniffling and wiping at his eyes again.
“You can’t stay out here,” Sephiroth continued while looking back to the facility, “however the doors are locked now. Not even I have a keycard on me to unlock them seeing as how I just left from the office.”
The blonde wavered for a moment. He didn’t want to go back to the barracks right now, but at the same time was he planning on staying outside the whole night? He guessed he hadn’t thought it through that far.
“I’ll be,” he began quietly before the other began to walk away.
“Follow me recruit,” the General spoke forcefully and yet softly…it was strange how he could manage to do that.
Not hesitating Cloud quickly grabbed his gym bag and followed behind the General. He was for certain he was taking him somewhere to be written up for his breaking curfew and after that…well he might just to tell him to stay outside, he wasn’t sure.
He followed behind the General in complete silence as he glanced around shyly at his surroundings before letting his eyes drift back to the other. His long silver hair held the boys attention as he watched it sway back and forth lightly. In the moonlight it almost seemed to shine, giving him a somewhat godly type of glow as if he were untouchable or something.
Strike three. The blonde couldn’t help but scold himself for yet again messing up in front of Sephiroth. Not only because of the curfew thing but because…well he had to witness him sitting outside on a bench crying like a lost little kid or something. And he had Zack to thank because of that.
“You have class in the morning I presume,” The General spoke up while coming to a stop in front of a door.
Cloud blinked for a moment as he looked around. They had just walked across the street from the main facility to another building that he knew was also a part of the company, however he had never been in there before and didn’t know what all was kept there.
“Yes sir,” he finally replied after realizing that Sephiroth had just spoken to him.
Sliding a keycard in the door the silver haired man stepped inside with Cloud close behind. “It’s already past one a.m. however I expect you to still be in class tomorrow,” the man began, “it was by your choice that you decided to break your curfew and stay up so late. Despite if there was something on your mind that angered you, it won’t be a valid excuse for missing class.”
“Yes sir,” Cloud replied with a nod. He hadn’t planned on missing class though, no way. Sergeant Okuda would just love that, just another reason to make him look bad. Besides Sephiroth was right, he wouldn’t go using his problems as excuses. He was upset right now but he would get over it…at least he hoped. He was still going to succeed and make into SOLDIER. Not with Zack’s help, and even with all of the crap he had to endure while at Shinra he wasn’t going to let that bring him down. He had to remember that, he was here for himself and to show everyone that he was capable of this. To become like Sephiroth someday, he couldn’t get side tracked.
Reaching an elevator they rode up about ten floors before reaching another door down a long hallway. Cloud really had no idea where they were going, but of course he knew it was dumb to question the other so he wasn’t even going to try.
The general stepped inside while flicking on a light and illuminating the once dark room. The blonde’s eyes widened as he looked around in awe. The place was huge, complimented with white carpet and walls and topped off with black furniture. It was simple and clean but yet looked rich and elegant. He was impressed by Zack’s apartment but this made it look like nothing.
“Considering you have to wake up in about four hours I suggest you get some rest,” Sephiroth began while disappearing further into the place.
Cloud lingered in the doorway for a moment before stepping inside and shutting the door softly behind him. He immediately took off his shoes, not wanting to dirty the perfectly spotless white carpet.
The General reappeared a moment later and nodded towards the couch, “Sleep there,” he spoke with no certain tone to his voice while handing over a soft, warm blanket to the recruit.
“Th, thank you sir,” Cloud began while setting down his gym bag and walking slowly over to the couch. He couldn’t believe that he was actually in General Sephiroth’s apartment! It was already thrilling just to be in his presence but to actually come to his apartment? That was a whole new level of excitement! Even despite the circumstances. He was surprised that the general was being so nice to him. Not that he expected him to be mean or anything, but he just wasn’t sure if he would actually help him out like this.
“I’ll wake you up in the morning,” the man said while turning off the lights and walking down a hall. The blonde didn’t get a chance to say anything else and heard the sound of a door closing. Letting out a sigh he laid down on the dark couch while draping the blanket over him. It was comfortable and felt really nice after being outside in the cold for so long. He closed his eyes and tried to go to sleep but now that he was surrounded with the deafening silence and the darkness it only made his mind race more. He could hear the bubbly girl’s voice from the phone echo throughout his head and he closed his eyes tighter while pulling the blanket up higher to his chin.
“Well I would hope so, I am his girlfriend.”
No matter what he couldn’t stop thinking about what Aerith had told him. She was Zack’s girlfriend and he…well, he was nobody. He might’ve thought he was something to Zack, but that just wasn’t the truth. He felt his eyes start to sting again as he thought back to the moments before that phone call and before Zack had left. Strange how everything was fine before that and they were kissing like crazy. And how odd it was that he actually thought he saw something in the SOLDIERS eyes, something that let him know he cared about him in the same way as he cared for the other. But it looked like he was wrong, maybe he just saw what he wanted to see instead of seeing what was really there.
He would just have to accept the reality, and that was that he just really couldn’t trust a lot of people. It had been the story of his life so far and he didn’t know why he thought it would change. The kids in Nibelheim would sometimes act like they were his friends only to do something mean and cruel to him later. They were all jerks, and he had to learn that the hard way. That was when he decided to put up a wall around him and not let anyone close. It made him come off as shy and often sometimes weird or mean but it was necessary. But as much as he swore to stay that way he had allowed Zack to tear down that wall, maybe not aware of it but fact remained the same that he had. And now…he regretted that.
******************************************************************
“Hey!” Kyo’s voice seemed to boom down the hall as he ran up and placed a hand on the blonde’s shoulder.
“Hey,” Cloud replied softly while giving his roommate a strange look.
“That’s it? Hey? No more than that?” The other continued while letting go of his shoulder.
“What…else am I supposed to say?” The recruit asked while beginning to walk again down the crowded hall full of students trying to get to their classes.
“Uh, I don’t know maybe tell me where you were last night!? I was actually worried about you ya know,” Kyo continued while shoving his hands into his pockets and shaking his head.
“Why would…” the blonde started while glancing at his friend.
“I didn’t even go back to sleep after Zack left,” Kyo said with a yawn confirming his last statement.
“Zack?” Cloud asked with a raised eyebrow, though his voice seemed to take on a certain tone when he said the SOLDIERS name.
“Yeah he was looking for you, he came by the room to see if you were there,” Kyo explained as they rounded a corner, “but once I told him you weren’t he didn’t say too much besides if you came back to let him know. Then he just left and I didn’t really know what was going on, but I just knew I had been woken up and that you weren’t at Zack’s and not there. It was kind of weird. But anyways I stayed up just in case you came back…occasionally dozing off,” he finished with a shrug.
Zack was looking for him? The blonde glanced at the ground before looking back to Kyo.
“I’m sorry you didn’t get any sleep,” Cloud said apologetically feeling slightly guilty for bringing his friend into things. He was still kind of tired himself so he understood how Kyo felt.
“It’s okay,” Kyo began, “I had taken a long nap earlier anyways.”
Cloud smiled gently at the other as they came closer to their class.
“So then,” Kyo started, “where were you?”
“I was…just out,” the blonde replied.
“Just out? I was woken up from my peaceful rest because you were just out?” Kyo asked while shooting the blonde an annoyed look.
Cloud glared back at his roommate. Kyo may not be satisfied with the answer but that was all he was going to get. What am I supposed to say? Well Kyo I found out that my boyfriend, you know Zack? Yeah him, well his girlfriend called last night and surprised the hell out of me because I didn’t know anything about her! And well I kind of flipped out and left his apartment and cried my eyes out.
“Were you expecting something more elaborate?” The blonde asked with a bit of irritation in his voice.
“Well yeah! I mean it was late at night, and who were you..” Kyo trailed off as he stared at the other.
Cloud blinked a few times before raising an eyebrow. “Why are you staring at me?”
“Oh I get it,” Kyo started with a bit of a chuckle, “you were out with a friend last night. Damn Cloud why didn’t you just say so!”
“What? No,” Cloud replied while shaking his head.
“That’s a nice one,” Kyo said with a grin while leaning forward towards the blonde and inspecting his neck more carefully.
“Wha?” Cloud began slightly confused while raising a hand to his neck. Kyo kept on laughing with the grin still plastered on his face and suddenly it hit the blonde.
“Shit,” he mumbled while dropping his hand from his neck. Looks like Zack had left a little something there. How the hell was he supposed to hide that? He was just wearing his usual training clothes and his shirt wasn’t a turtleneck or anything.
“Soo,” Kyo began with the grin still there.
“Let’s go, we’re going to be late,” Cloud replied while turning to walk away.
“We have five minutes!” Kyo countered.
“Come on!” The blonde shot back. He wanted his friend to forget all about the mark on his neck and he definitely wasn’t trying to fill him in on anything about it.
“Fine fine,” Kyo replied while stepping past the blonde and walking into their class.
“Cloud!” A voice called stopping the boy in his tracks just before he went into the classroom behind Kyo. It was a voice he didn’t want to hear, one that he was trying hard to forget the sound of. He didn’t turn around and was just getting ready to step inside the class when he felt a hand grab onto his wrist. He felt his whole body tense when the others hand made contact with him, something that he hadn’t done in a long time. “What happened to you last night I was looking all over for you?”
Turning around to face the other Cloud quickly pulled his wrist away from the SOLDIER. “Why?”
“Why?” Zack asked slightly confused when Cloud abruptly pulled away from him, “I thought you were staying over and besides that when I came back the kitchen was a mess so I started to worry that you weren’t there.”
“Well, I’m fine,” the blonde replied coldly while turning to walk into class.
“Hey,” Zack started while catching hold of the recruit’s arm, “what’s wrong?”
“Nothing is wrong!” Cloud shot back angrily while pulling his arm away, “I have to go to class I’m going to be late.”
“Well just talk to me first and then you won’t be,” Zack explained while shaking his head, “I spent all of last night looking for you I thought something had happened to you and now that I see you’re okay you can’t even give me five minutes? Tell me what’s wrong something’s obviously bothering you.”
Glaring at the other Cloud walked away from the classroom door a bit seeing as how people were trying to get in and aside from that he didn’t want others to hear.
“I don’t have time for this okay?” Cloud spoke, his voice quieter than before.
Zack shook his head apparently not pleased with that, “Make time. I’ll excuse you for being late Sergeant Okuda won’t say anything.”
“No,” the blonde replied while adjusting his gym bag, “I don’t want you to do me any more favors,” he finished while turning to walk away.
“What?” Zack asked as his eyes widened. He was completely confused now and he had no idea why Cloud was being so mean to him all of a sudden. It was like he had stepped into alternate universe or something where this Cloud didn’t like him at all. “Cloud stop walking away from me,” the SOLDIER said sternly while catching the boys arm yet again. He was trying to be understanding and patient here but the blonde just wasn’t helping at all.
“I don’t have anything else to say to you Zack!” Cloud snapped. So much for trying not to draw attention, a few recruits glanced their way before stepping into class. But neither Zack nor Cloud noticed or cared for that matter. The blonde’s eyes began to water and he quickly blinked back his tears before tearing his arm away again. He didn’t want to be near Zack right now and he didn’t want to look into his eyes and he definitely didn’t want the SOLDIER to touch him. Turning away once more he stopped for a second before turning back to the other, “And by the way,” he started his voice still laced with anger, “you’re girlfriend called last night so you may want to return the call. I told her I’d give you the message.” With that he turned and walked into class not bothering to wait for the other to respond.
The SOLDIER stood frozen as he watched the blonde walk away from him, his mouth open as if to say something. He stayed that way for a few moments as he let the others words sink in. What the hell had just happened here?
Girlfriend? Aerith!? She called last night while I wasn’t there? Shit!
Things made a little more sense now to the SOLDIER and he cursed himself for his own stupidity. Why hadn’t he just told Cloud about Aerith from the beginning? Now things probably looked a lot worse, like he was hiding things from the other. But still what all did Aerith say to Cloud? And girlfriend? Yeah, once upon a time but not anymore. Cloud knew that right? He knew that Aerith was his ex. It didn’t sound like he knew that though, or maybe he just didn’t care.
He listened from the hallway as he heard Sergeant Okuda taking roll call. He wanted to go inside and get Cloud. He needed to talk to him, he needed to tell him the truth. He had to make sure that he made things clear. He lingered in the hallway for a bit more before glancing at his watch. He would wait until after class to talk to Cloud, the blonde was already mad as hell at him and if he went in and tried to pull him out the recruit would definitely not be happy. Sighing he walked down the hall and to the elevator where he swiped his key card once inside.
Why is she still calling me? And what exactly is it that she thinks we still have? Letting out a groan the youth ran a hand through his dark hair. He needed to talk with Aerith, he wanted to know what it was she wanted. Otherwise she was going to make problems….actually she already had made problems. But he guessed it was partially his fault too, he should’ve called her back when she left him that message before.
Stepping out of the elevator he lazily made his way down the hall while passing a few secretaries that smiled sweetly at him. On any other day he would give his award winning smile back but today he simply just gave them a small nod of acknowledgement…if even that.
Coming to a door he swiped his keycard before stepping inside and meeting green eyes from across the room.
“Zackary,” the General said in greeting before turning his eyes back to computer before him.
“Hey Seph,” the SOLDIER replied while closing the door behind him and walking towards the desk where he pulled up a chair and rested his head on the top of the surface.
Sephiroth looked away from the computer screen to the mass of black spikes that were now on his desk. “Is there a reason why you aren’t on watch this morning?”
“I passed it off to someone else,” Zack said while lifting his head and leaning back in his chair.
“You look tired,” Sephiroth began while turning back to the monitor.
“I didn’t really sleep last night,” the SOLDIER said with a sigh.
The General didn’t respond for a few minutes and the only sound was that of the keyboard as he typed away.
“Was the reason for your lack of sleep because of your fight with Cloud?”
“Well it wasn’t a fight until this morning but I…” Stopping in mid sentence the SOLDIER looked at the man while leaning forward a bit in his chair, “wait, what?”
“He seemed pretty upset last night,” Sephiroth continued in a monotone voice still keeping his eyes on the monitor.
“Last night!? You saw him?” Zack asked while placing his hands on the desk, now eagerly wanting to know everything that the other knew.
“Yes,” the General began, “I found him outside on my way back from here. He stayed at my place last night. I couldn’t just leave him outside in the cold seeing as how everything was locked up at the time. And if I had he surely would’ve been in trouble for breaking curfew if anyone else were to see him. Not that I would mind but I know that the two of you are close so it was more out of a favor to you.”
The SOLDIER let out a sigh of relief as he nodded. At least it was confirmed that the blonde really was safe the night before.
“So… what did he tell you?” Zack continued.
“Nothing,” Sephiroth replied instantly while finally letting his eyes travel from the monitor to the SOLDIERS, “He didn’t need to, and it’s not my place to question.”
“Seph,” Zack began.
“I have no problem with your relationship with the recruit Zackary. However I don’t want it to interfere with his classes. You can understand my concern. He has great potential, I’ve seen it and I know you have. I don’t want anything to knock him off track,” The General explained while holding Zack’s gaze.
“Cloud won’t let anything interfere, it’s not his style,” Zack replied with a smirk. That was one of the many things that the SOLDIER admired about the boy, his strength and dedication.
“Very well then,” the man replied while standing up from his seat and crossing over to the door, “finish up here. I have some other business to attend to.”
“Sure,” Zack replied while picking up a folder from off of the desk. “Seph?”
The General paused at the door and turned his eyes towards the other.
“Thanks,” the SOLDIER finished sincerely.
He received a small “hmm” as a response and then the silver-haired man had exited out of the office.
Glancing at the papers before him Zack tapped the desk with his fingers. There really was no way he was going to be able to concentrate. He just wanted time to go by quickly so that Cloud’s class would be over with and he could get a chance to talk to him. He didn’t want things to be messed up between them and he had to fix it. The thought of losing him was…no, losing him wasn’t an option. He would make things right and this would all blow over. It had too. But he knew Cloud’s trust in people was something very fragile, he knew that since the beginning and he still managed to mess it up. But if he could gain Cloud’s trust once then he would be able to regain it. Or at least he had to be optimistic and hope that he could.
******************************************************************
It was nearing the end of class and Sergeant Okuda was lecturing them, of what the blonde wasn’t really sure. He just caught a few random things here and there, basically their instructor was just telling them that they needed to step things up a notch, like he always did.
“Well well,” a voice came from behind the blonde and he didn’t bother to turn around seeing as how he knew that voice so well. “Looks like somebody had a little fun after they left the gym last night huh?”
Turning slightly Cloud caught the amused expression on Jin’s face. He had managed to get through most of the class without anyone noticing the hickey on his neck, but of course seeing as how luck was never on his side Jin would see it. How could Zack have been so careless? Didn’t he know that something like that would attract attention!? Rolling his eyes a bit he turned back around and focused on Sergeant Okuda acting like he was paying attention.
“So who’s your friend huh?” Jin asked in a whisper while nudging the other with his foot.
“Quit it!” The blonde snapped back while scooting up a bit. That only made Jin grin wider. His day simply wasn’t complete if he couldn’t manage to piss off the other recruit.
“Touchy,” Jin replied while moving up a little, “come on tell me. Are you scared I’ll tell on you because you broke curfew? Relax, I won’t. I did too remember?”
Why is he still talking? Letting out a sigh Cloud tried hard to tune out the others voice, but it was hard to do.
“Oh yeah, I meant to ask you, why was Zack looking for you anyways when he came in the gym?” Jin asked with a raised eyebrow while tapping the boy.
“Stop!” Cloud said in a loud whisper. He really wasn’t in the mood to deal with Jin right now.
“Is there something wrong Strife?” Sergeant Okuda asked while turning his gaze towards the blonde and crossing his arms over his chest.
“No sir,” Cloud replied with a shake of his head not even bothering to meet the others eyes.
“Then be quiet,” Okuda said before going back to his lecture. The blonde heard Jin laugh a little and then shortly after that the whistle was blown to dismiss class. It seemed like it had dragged on forever though. Kyo had said something about he was going out to meet Lana since they didn’t have anymore classes for the rest of day and had quickly exited out the room. Cloud wasn’t far behind him and had just stepped outside of the class and was on his way down the hall when his eyes caught glimpse of the first class SOLDIER leaning against the wall. Mako eyes turned towards him and the blonde quickly looked away and continued to walk, a little faster than before.
“Cloud hold on,” Zack began while pushing himself away from the wall and catching up to the other.
However Cloud didn’t stop, if anything he moved even faster than before. He didn’t want to see the SOLDIER. Didn’t the other understand that?
“Cloud please,” Zack tried again, his tone pleading. He didn’t dare grab onto him again, that proved to be useless earlier and only made the blonde more upset.
“Go away,” the blonde replied, still refusing to even glance at the other as he kept up his quick pace.
It hurt Zack more than anything to have Cloud push him away like this, but he understood why he was doing it.
“Spike I know you’re upset, I would be too if I were you. And I think I handled a lot of things wrong. But it’s really not like you think,” Zack began trying desperately to get the boy to hear him out.
“I really don’t care to hear you explain yourself. It doesn’t matter,” Cloud spoke in a voice that seemed to hold no emotion. A voice that was completely alien to the other. He had heard Cloud speak shyly and nervously, and even angrily. But this…uncaring tone? He didn’t like it at all and he refused to let Cloud start to close up and distance himself from him again. He would be damned if he let that happen.
“Don’t say that,” Zack spoke quietly with a shake of his head before Cloud stopped and glared at the other.
“Why not? What you want to see me break down over this? What do you want Zack!? It’s not me! So just quit it already!” The blonde practically shouted in the hall. He wanted to act like if this whole thing didn’t bother him but it was too hard to pretend. It was ripping him apart inside and there was no way he could hide that. He quickly wiped away the hot tears that had begun to fall down his face again. He didn’t want Zack to see him cry, not over him! He didn’t want him to think that he really was upset about this, but he knew that was shot to hell the minute he opened his mouth just a moment ago.
“Cloud,” the SOLDIER began softly while reaching out to wipe away the others tears. But his hand was quickly smacked away and the blonde took a step back. His face completely red now and his breathing heavy. “Babe that’s not true,” Zack continued in a hurt voice. He really hated himself at the moment for making Cloud feel this way. Like he wasn’t wanted, he didn’t know how far from the truth he was. He didn’t want the blonde to go back to thinking like he did before, like he was worthless.
“Don’t!” Cloud started while squeezing his eyes shut tight, “Don’t act like you care!”
“I’m not acting!” Zack shot back.
Turning the blonde started to walk away as the SOLDIER followed him.
“Cloud just hear me out! Let me explain okay?”
“What is there to hear?” The recruit asked while stopping once more and facing the other, “To listen to you try to justify this whole thing? I don’t want to hear that. Why don’t you tell me that you’ve been honest with me from the beginning and haven’t hid anything from me huh? Can you tell me that?”
“Cloud there’s more to it than,” the SOLDIER started to explain before the other cut him off.
“No Zack! Can you tell me that!?” The recruit asked again more forcefully while searching the others eyes.
Zack was silent before dropping his eyes to the ground. He couldn’t say yes to that question truthfully. As much as he wanted to he couldn’t, and he wasn’t going to lie to the boy.
“That’s what I thought,” Cloud spoke quietly just as Zack lifted his eyes back to the others. He saw sadness in those deep blue orbs that he had never seen before, and knowing that he was the reason for that made him feel terrible. He felt his own eyes start to sting as he saw the look on the recruits face. A look of hurt and confusion. Whatever anger used to be there seemed to almost vanish and all that was left was pain. He watched as the blonde turned and walked away further down the hall. His image getting smaller and smaller until he turned a corner and disappeared from the SOLDIERS sight altogether. He wanted nothing more than to go after him, to still try to fix things. But he didn’t want to hurt him anymore. And at the moment, it seemed like that was all he had been doing to the blonde.
