From Now On
Chapter 4
Squall stared at the man in front of him, for what seemed like an eternity. Laguna started to worry about his son's strange silence.
"Is there something wrong?" "No." The reply sounded like a whisper. "There you are!" A cheerful voice appeared. "Oh... you look awesome! I knew the costume would be perfect on you. Vampires were always my favorites." "Thanks..." Laguna answered shyly. "And you... you are sooooooooo cute..." "Excuse me?" Squall hoped the compliment weren't for him, but it seemed there was no other person in the room... "But you forgot something..." The girl stepped closer to Squall and reached for a tiny button on the back of one horn. "See! It shines!" The horns started to glow happily in the darkness and Squall wanted to die of embarrassment. "Oh yes, it's quite cute." Laguna smiled kindly. Fuck you two. "Oh... this is priceless." Squall found Seifer smirking in one corner of the room and gave him an icy glare in return. He couldn't quite distinguish what the blond's costume was... He had dark clothes on and a black cape over his shoulders it seemed. It was like he was a character of an old horror movie. A killer probably. Not letting his smirk leave his face, the blond boy made his way to the kitchen to take some beer. "Dear, where's your costume?" Laguna saw Selphie still dressed in her yellow dress. "Oh... It will be the greatest surprise of the night. I'm just waiting for the right time." Selphie smiled wickedly and vanished into the dark house. "Oh, she's so lovely." "You mean evil?" Laguna laughed. "Good to see you're in a good mood." "..." "Will you accept a glass of blood, mister vampire?" "Oh... what is it, wine?" Laguna looked at the reddish liquid in a glass Selphie had brought. "Maybe it's not a good idea for me to drink tonight. Don't you want it Squall?" "I don't drink." "Oh, pleeeeease, mister vampire, just until more victims show up for you to bite." "Okay then, I guess just one glass won't put me into much trouble." Laguna smiled and took the glass in his hand. "Thank you." And took one sip. "Humm, it's... it's really good." "If you want more, I'll leave it here." The girl put the bottle on a table nearby. "Now I have to hunt some monsters to the party. Don't you die just yet!" Selphie went happily upstairs and all the voices disappeared from the room. Squall seemed more at easy, but the silence was starting to suffocate Laguna. He needed to talk. "Well... why don't we sit here and wait for them?" The man looked at the couch's direction. "...Fine." They sat on the leather couch. Laguna on one end and Squall on the other. Why does it need to be so difficult... Laguna shifted in his seat nervously. Squall watched as the man in the vampire costume caressed the glass with his fingers before bringing the red liquid to his mouth and swallowing the entire content of the glass in one motion. He then reclined on the couch, closed his eyes and inspired deeply. "Why don't you come closer?" Laguna looked at the boy and motioned for him to sit beside him. "Please." There was something in hearing the man's pleas that Squall couldn't resist. So he did as he was asked to. He felt the fabric of the cape brushing his skin when he sat close to Laguna, too close maybe. The man thought it was strange for his son to agree on being at that distance from another being, but he didn't complain, though it was making it difficult for him to breathe steadily feeling the boy's body pressed to his, and he didn't know if he wanted to know why. "You're... You look really good as a vampire." Squall said shyly as he brushed his fingers on the satin. "Ah... thank you. You... look good too." Laguna's eyes roamed Squall's body, until he noticed what he was doing and averted his gaze. He looked desperately for something else, so he got up and went into the wine's direction. "Laguna." The man turned when he heard Squall calling his name. "What...?" His legs felt suddenly weak. He waited for the next words, but Squall went silent again. "Oh... I thought everyone would be here already." Both men looked at the voice's direction to see Rinoa in her witch costume. The girl looked at Squall and giggled. "You're a cute devil." "..." "What a beautiful witch we have here... Will you give me the honor to serve you?" "Oh... And who are you, gentleman?" "I'm the one who killed many and always got away with it. No one could catch me yet, however..." The blond boy paused briefly. "I think you can." "I'm afraid I'll have to refuse your proposal. You see, I worship and only have eyes for the devil. And besides." The girl giggled. "You sound like someone I know..." "And what about a dead pirate, my lady?" Irvine showed up without his cowboy hat, but with his hair still tied. There was a headband over his hair and golden earings on both ears. He was wearing a white shirt opened up at his chest and there was a piece of fabric around his waist. To complete the outfit he was wearing dark pants and boots. "Does anybody want to come with me find my treasure?" Squall stared. Irvine felt eyes on him and acknowledged Squall's presence, becoming silent then. But soon voices filled the place once again when Nida and Zell came chatting. Then Quistis descended the stairs in her red high heel shoes. "You're dressed like a porn actress?" Seifer looked at the girl and then took a sip of his beer. "Shut up, Almasy, you know that it was that little devil's fault." "Leonhart?" Quistis looked at Squall and laughed. And laughed. "I bet you're suffering a lot more than me." "It's none of your..." "business." "..." "Well..." Quistis tried to recover from her laughter. "I was talking about the other little devil." Suddenly a morbid song filled the house. Smoke covered the air and a cloaked figure appeared. A large scythe danced in the air as the words were spoken. "This night you shall be afraid, because your souls will soon be mine." And everyone started to laugh at the sight of a 5'1 grim reaper. "It's not funny!" came the voice behind the skull mask. Seifer almost choked on his beer with the intensity of his laughter and even Squall had a smirk on his face. "Go to hell all of you!" "Oh, dear, don't be mad," Irvine laughed. "I think you're cute, Selphie." Rinoa smiled. "It wasn't meant to be cute..." Irvine put his arm around the cloaked girl shouders and led her to the kitchen. "Let's make some blood marys and then I let you scary me." "Do you promise, zombie pirate?" "For my dead soul." "Okay... I think I'll let you dead people have some more time of freedom. But you wait... The night is still young." And with that the pair disappeared into the kitchen. "Chicken!" "What? I mean... What did you call me?" "You're not a mummy anymore." Zell had taken the bandages off and wore a black shirt stamped with fluorescent bones. "They were too complicated for me... I stepped on them all the time." "Selphie will get mad at you." Seifer sat on an armchair. "I hope she gets drunk before it." Zell stared at Seifer. Damn, he looks hot in this clothes. The other blond stared at him questioningly. Nervously, Zell looked in another direction and found beer. Alcohol, be my savior for the night.xxx
"Are you looking for something, Rinoa?"
"Something without alcohol in it. It seems like they only bought beer, wine, those things." "I think I found something else here." Nida looked inside the refrigerator. "Just a few though." Rinoa smiled. "Better than nothing. Let's see what we have here..." The girl walked to the refrigerator and brushed her cheek over Nida's shoulder. "What do you think?" "What?" The boy blushed. "This strawberry juice seems fine." "Oh... anything you say." Rinoa took the juice from the refrigerator and poured it in two glasses, handing one to Nida. "Thanks." The boy smiled. "You're welcome." Rinoa took a sip. "You know, it's relieving to find someone who doesn't drink. I think it only makes people act like fools." "Well, there are ones that act like fools even without drinking." Rinoa smiled. "True." Then her smile faded a little. "I don't know, sometimes it feels like I don't fit in their world." "I feel like that all the time." "Really? But I always see you hanging out with Irvine." "It's not that much. We've just started to talk more to each other some weeks ago. Maybe I could say we're friends but it’d never be like the way he is friends with Squall." "They live together, they shared a room all their lives, it's only natural they’re so close to each other." "Yeah..." Nida refilled his glass and Rinoa's. "I don't know, I think he hates me." "Why do you think so?" "You need to see the way he stares at me sometimes." "Oh, he always does that to everyone... Even me."xxx
"Why do I have the impression that you feel miserable?"
Squall watched the Doomtrain movie with a bored expression on his face. "Don't you get tired of always being right?" "I guess not." Quistis sat beside the boy. "Is there a problem?" "No." "Liar." "..." "You see. I'm not always right. I thought you were going to say 'Whatever'." "Whate... What... Why arent' you with the others?" Quistis looked at her drunk friends dancing clumsily and falling countless times, laughing all the while. "I prefer to be here." "I'm not the most entertaining person in the world." "Is it about Rinoa?" "What?" "What you're thinking." "No." "Then..." Squall got up and tried to make his way to his bedroom, but there was a dancing pirate on his way. "Why you're not dancing?" Irvine tried to focus his eyesight on his friend, but his vision was dancing too. "Oh... Now you're moving a lot." Squall stood in place. "Dance with me." "I can't dance." Squall felt arms around him and his face landed on a warm chest. "Waltz with the dead." Irvine tried to drag the other boy along with his movements and Squall tried to get away, without succeeding. "You don't know what you're doing." With great effort he was able to scape the body that held his. Irvine ended up landing on a couch, murmuring the song that was playing. Squall shook his head and sighed. He tried to make his way to his room, but someone stopped him and dragged him to a dark room. He heard the evil giggles before the door was locked behind him. It took him a while for his sight to adjust to the lack of light but in the end he found himself in the game room... and he wasn't alone. "Rinoa?" "Oh... you've been locked here too?" "Damn Selphie." Squall sat on a couch and stared at the ceiling, knowing he would only be set free when that little devil wanted. Patience was all he needed. Lots of it. Rinoa looked at the boy and was a little unsure of what she would do but eventually she walked to his direction. Squall realized the movement when he saw the girl standing in front of him. She started to talk quietly but he didn't pay attention. There were breasts at his eye level and it made him uneasy. I think I have two options: squeeze them or push them away. "Are you listening?" "What?" Squall looked up at Rinoa's face with a questioning gaze. "Nevermind." The girl sighed and sat at the boy's side in the couch. "It's just that... Well..." Then Rinoa put her hand on Squall's and he didn't know what to do with it. So they stood there in silence, holding hands. "..." What could be worse than this? Squall looked beside him. Well... she's not that ugly. She's even kinda pretty. I guess... I don't know. After some minutes of thinking, Squall finally decided to give it a try and pressed his lips to Rinoa's. She seemed surprised at first, but then her lips parted too and their mouths moved slowly together. When the kiss was over, Rinoa showed a shiny smile on her face. It wasn't as scary as I thought. Squall concluded. Then the door was opened and an excited voice filled the air. "Time for your cake!"xxx
Squall looked at the cake decorated with childish drawings of skeletons and bats. Then he looked around and saw half of his friends singing drunkenly his Happy Birthday. But then he realized that someone was missing. Laguna was nowhere to be seen, but maybe he was sleeping behind some couch in the dark place.
It had been a strange night, Squall concluded. He was thinking about the kiss with Rinoa. Did he really do that? It wasn't bad, he didn't feel as disgusted as he first thought he would in such a situation but... Rinoa was now at his side looking at him adoringly, but he didn't feel the least inclined into trying another kiss. Oh Hell, did she thought that he was her boyfriend or something like that after they kissed? It was awkward. But then, why the hell did he do this? What was his problem? I think we need to give it a try. He tried to kiss Irvine earlier that day. No one could blame him for never taking action. Although he waited way too long before doing something... One day he even tried to know better a stranger he met on Balamb's streets. He ended up knowing more than he wanted... Squall took one last glimpse on the party he was leaving behind. The wax of the candles were almost gone and the pumpkin seemed to smile tiredly. Nida was sulking in a corner. Squall's beloved zombie pirate was totally out of it, navigating in a leather couch. Zell was sleeping on a table with his face buried in popcorn. Seifer was watching the last movie distractedly, maybe paying more attention to the beer, maybe lost thinking about something else. Quistis sat beside him, talking with him every now and then. Selphie had taken off her reaper costume and was sleeping contently on the blonde's lap. It seems like her battery had run out. Rinoa ascended the stairs with Squall. She said quietly that she would be in the room when the boy walked to the bathroom. He didn't interpreted what the girl said as something suggestive, at least he didn't want to think about it. He tried to open the door before him, but realized that something was blocking the way... maybe a person lying on the corridor floor. Laguna was slumped on the ground, his back uncomfortably resting on the wall. Squall wanted to pretend he didn't saw it, but something inside him told him to check on the situation. "Are you..." It was stupid, of course, the man wasn't okay. Squall's hand shook Laguna and he received a low moan in response. "Can you walk?" He slowly opened his eyes. "I... guess..." He tried to got up, but stumbled and was lucky he found the wall to hold him. Sighing exasperatedly, Squall put one of Laguna's arm around him and tried to help him walk. That was why he hated the effects of drinking. It only made one look like an idiot in front of everyone and stumble everywhere. Squall helped Laguna to his room. What a burden... "Is it okay for you to stay alone?" "You can..." Laguna held himself again against a wall, lowering his head. Squall put an arm around him again and brought him to the bathroom of the master's bedroom. He was barefoot and he still had most part of the vampire costume on, and the boy didn't care to let clothes go wet. Like he was going to strip the man... So he turned on the shower and let the cool water slid over Laguna's hair. He didn't know if it was going to work or not, but he guessed the sensation would lighten the man's headache. The water ran over Laguna's face and some drops scaped to his neck, wetting slightly his thin shirt. Squall brushed some dark locks of the man's hair and suddenly felt himself pressed against the cold tile of the stall. "I failed so much in being your father... look at me now... you taking care of me..." "You're not my father. I've never wanted you to be." Squall stared at the blue-green eyes above. Not a look of hatred, just a look of cruel sincerity. Laguna felt a wet lock of dark hair cover one side of his face. He touched the younger boy's face and felt like crying. But instead, he kissed the boy's lips. Squall was so shocked he didn't react. Strange as the situation was, Laguna felt suddenly enthusiastic. He kissed the boy's cheeks and neck, before moving his lips down the covered chest, the fabric getting translucent buy the water on the shower. It had been so irritatingly arousing to feel Squall's body against him, helping him walking. He could feel the warmth of his skin, the fragrance of his cologne. It had been so intoxicating and he couldn't stop himself from moving his hands all over his torso, sliding them under the shirt and massaging the boy's chest, then moving from his back, and then at the front again, to his flawless abdomen. Squall was getting crazy or the man who wanted so much to father him was licking his navel at that moment? It was really a change in the way he acted and the boy thought it was for the better. If it would be possible to forget the fact that he was his son, it was somehow pleasurable to have a man like that over him. He couldn't ignore how Laguna was very attractive and desirable. When the man opened his pants and freed his member, a moan escaped the boy's lips and Laguna started to suck on him. Slowly and so good. Squall's conscience alerted him that it might be wrong, but he thought at that moment that thinking was wrong when there was someone moving his mouth over him. Squall moved his head up and closed his eyes, feeling water running down his body, caressing his skin, and feeling hot wet pressure over his member. His hand moved over Laguna's hair and then pulled his face off when he felt his orgasm wash over him. The man seemed to watch the fluid mesmerized and licked it murmuring Squall's name. The dark-haired man then got up and held the boy in a tight embrace, feeling the body in his arms tremble slightly, before sucking his wet neck. While doing so, he searched for his neglected member and started to masturbate. And Squall let him continue with that until he saw the other man reaching his peak. Laguna still held the boy for some more minutes, feeling the water wetting all his clothes and their pressed bodies. Then he felt Squall trying to move away and prevented it holding him still. "Laguna..." The boy started talking but was interrupted by a mouth over his. He felt the older man's tongue slide against his and he couldn't find the strength to protest, so he only moaned as he responded to the kiss. It was almost desperate the way they passionately kissed, all the while both thinking it was very very wrong but incredibly good. "I... shouldn't..." The boy felt the breathy words against his ear after the kiss ended. "Don't start talking about regret..." Squall cut the man off, before moving Laguna out of the way and walking out of the shower stall. "But we have to talk..." said Laguna miserably. "We talk when you're sober." Somehow, Squall didn't want to think about it. He stepped out of the shower, his body instantly getting cold with the change in temperature. "Squall..." Laguna called in a whisper. "Where... are you going...?" In any other occasion, the boy would feel uneasy rummaging in Laguna's wardrobe, but at that time he didn't care. He just needed dry clothes, and he needed to be alone with his thoughts. After finding himself something that could fit him, he stripped and dressed, all the while being watched by a confused pair of eyes. "Sleep here. I promise not to... I..." "Don't make promises you can't keep." Then the boy left the room with silent words rushing in his head. x x To be continued... A/N: Oh, incest...
