"Hey, Tifa!" Yuffie ran up to the brunette woman outside in the Sector 7 slums, performing a proud salute in her direction. "Tifa! Maybe you'd like help with any errands around 'ere? I don't mind helping out with whatever you want! You're like my bestie after all!" Yuffie exclaimed, placing both hands onto her hips, a toothy grin painted on her face. "I can kick any ugly monster's butt; pick up litter; scare off rats - anything! As long as it don't involve giving away free materia, 'cause that ain't happening!"
Perfect, Yuffie was coming out to lend a helping hand! Not that Tifa minded the helping hand, she just hoped Yuffie wouldn't say anything unnecessary or cause too much trouble. But having someone like her would be useful to scout around the Sector in terms of troublemakers who might be around.
With a soft sigh leaving her lips, Tifa performed a slight nod of the head. "Fine, come on. And stay out of trouble, will you? We need to keep a reputation with these people after all," she insisted
"Stay out of--" Yuffie started, raising her voice with a pout now forming over her rims. Both her hands on her hips, Yuffie leaned inward, letting out a huff. "You think I'm trouble, Tifa? Have you even seen trouble?" Yuffie raised a curious brunette brow, appearing cheeky. She then straightened her back, bent a knee, while she pulled out exactly two sharpened kunais from her belt. "Alright! Just give me the first job, Tifa! Unless you want me to find pests?"
"Have I ever seen trouble? Well, I was part of the group who set a bomb off in a very critical place earlier this year." Tifa explained, placing her own hands over her hips while she spoke. Had Yuffie forgotten all about Avalanche's history of trouble already? Regardless, Tifa had a job for Yuffie. "This person tends to try keeping most of the money owed aside for themselves, your job is to scope the place undetected while I distract him downstairs, got it?" Basically, steal from a liar while they're distracted. "This person is usually very drunk, too."
"I meant from me! ME! I never cause trouble, Tifa!" Yuffie pouted again, puffing out her cheeks. Glancing here and there around the span, Yuffie leapt up the small staircase that led to the Seventh Heaven bar. "But Tifa, how will you distract them?" Yuffie checked, scratching the side of her face mousily. "Wait...with alcohol?" Yuffie thought "Wait, no! Not by sweet talking him, right?" Placing palms on the wooden doors, Yuffie pushed the doors open. "Right! Where can I find the idiot - in here?!"
Where to find the idiot? The idiot in question was yelling out loud currently as a groan left Tifa's lips. But wait, she could use this chance to ditch Yuffie! It's not like she'd find Tifa easily, right? With that plan in mind, Tifa began to sneak herself away. She could use this chance to visit the establishments herself for the money while Yuffie distracts herself. Though, Tifa couldn't be out in the open, instead, she decided to detour into a nearby alleyway.
Spinning around on her feet, Yuffie looked behind herself, and immediately a large question mark echoed in her head. "Tifa?" Yuffie checked, brown orbs glancing here and there while she scratched the back of her head. "Huh? She's gone. I wonder why," she remarked with a simple shrug of the shoulders. "Ah, it doesn't matter! Tifa might be waiting somewhere else."
Running into the Seventh Heaven, Yuffie noticed one drunkard sitting at the bar, and there appeared to be a lone rucksack just resting on one of the bench tables. "Is that who Tifa's talking about?" Yuffie whispered to herself, tiptoeing towards the bag. "Oh!" Pulling out a few notes of cash, along with coins, Yuffie soon slipped the money into a pocket on her shorts. "Oh, purple materia! I can't leave without you."
Walking out of the bar, Yuffie went on to search for Tifa. "TIFA! I found the money!" Literally stealing from just about anyone, and it was from an easy target - a drunkard. "Hm, I wonder where she went..."
Poor drunk bastard, Yuffie stole from a innocent man of not only his money but even his materia!? Oh boy, Yuffie was in for it now, that's for sure. Yuffie may have brought trouble their way, too. By now, Tifa would have already been outside of the alleyway and completed the first pick up on money owed to Seventh Heaven. This meant that, as Tifa made her way towards the second building, she'd be out in the open, easy for a certain ninja to spot before she ducked into the next alleyway afterwards.
Last time Yuffie heard, Tifa actually told her that'd this 'liar' would be a male! Plus, it was totally like Yuffie to steal materia and she never even cared from who. Brown orbs caught sight of the black-haired woman in the near distance, just outside the weapon store, before Yuffie watched Tifa walk away.
"Oh, TIFA!" Yuffie exclaimed, waving a hand joyfully in the air. "TIFA!"
Sprinting towards the weapon store, Yuffie followed Tifa down a rather narrow alleyway.
"Tifa, there you are! Where're you off to next?" Yuffie questioned, accidentally dropping her materia in the process. "Oh, oops!" Swooping down, she picked up the purple ball within seconds.
Just when Tifa thought she was out of it, Yuffie pulled her right back in. And to think she was in a good mood this time, too! Especially since the owner of the weapon store cooperated completely and even offered her a discount on some equipment! The sound of Yuffie's voice sunk that mood of hers instantly as Tifa turned towards the source calling out to her. Watching the ninja dodge through the crowd, crimson orbs even spotted a certain item drop onto the concrete ground.
"Yuffie... What's that you dropped just now and...where did you get it?" Tifa's tone, oh boy. She didn't seem happy in the slightest right now. "I don't remember seeing you with that one materia you have there..."
Previously, Tifa told Yuffie to keep a low profile and to stay out of trouble, two of those things she broke in one full swoop.
"U-uh, I just found this materia in the bar. Allure materia. Why'd you ask, Tifa?" Yuffie questioned, brown eyes looking up at Tifa's face, all while her hands rested firmly against her hips.
"Well," she leaned inward, beginning to swing her hips from side to side in a cheeky fashion. "I did as you told me. I stole money from the only man in the bar," she answered with a voice full of confidence. Reaching into the pocket on her mustard-coloured shorts, Yuffie pulled out at least eight notes of cash and a few coins. Each were one-hundred gil notes. Yuffie held out this hand to Tifa, offering her the cash. "Here ya go, boss! This enough to fix all those rodent problems and water leakages in your bar?" Yuffie checked, tilting her head to one side, a toothy grin painting along her lips.
"Wait, did you just say you stole money from the only man in the bar-"
It took Tifa a moment to process that confession. That man in the bar was the only customer that was inside, and he was actually a valued customer who visited the bar every day...and Yuffie just robbed him!? Though, it would seem like Tifa was just about to explode on the thief before...nothing. Tifa didn't yell or smack at Yuffie, but she did raise her voice like a mother would to her disobedient child. "As soon as we're back in the bar, just...give it back to him. He's a good customer, really!"
"You're tellin' me I stole from an innocent person? Tifa! You said this jackass was a drunk. Who the hell is this greedy, lying, drunk asshole at anyway?" Furrowing brunette brows, Yuffie pouted her lips. She held up a finger, beginning to wag it, like as if she was the most considerate person in this alleyway. "Look, Tifa, I only did as you said. I didn't mean for all of this to happen! It's good that he's pissed outta his mind then, huh? It'd be easy to return his shit."
Turning her back to Tifa, the smaller female slipped the money back into her pocket, letting out an irritated huff as she did so.
"Yuffie-" Tifa lowered her voice, reaching out with both her hands.
Shooting a glance over her shoulder, Yuffie snapped at Tifa. "What?" The loose fabric of the bandanna around Yuffie's head swung as Yuffie looked over her shoulder, swinging with the motion.
Drawing closer to Yuffie, Tifa placed both her palms onto the smaller female's shoulders. "I'm sorry, okay? The culprit I was talking about...is me...I was trying to get you to steal from me, Yuffie," she confessed, her lips turning into a frown now.
"Steal from you? Why the heck did you describe yourself as a lying, drunk man then?!"
Shrugging her shoulders briefly, Tifa snickered, even that very description made her laugh. "I was just playing with you, Yuffie. But here-" Tifa released a hand from Yuffie's shoulder, and then slipped this hand into her skirt pocket to pull out a golden-coloured materia orb, Yuffie's eyes lit up at the sight. "Have this."
"Gold?!" Yuffie exclaimed, brown orbs fixed on the golden ball. "But Tifa, you still haven't told me why you described yourself as a drunk liar-" Yuffie repeated herself, flicking her brown hues directly at those crimson pools again. "Tifa, why? Have you gone crazy?! You're kind...and helpful...honest..."
"I was just playing, Yuffie." Taking Yuffie's hand, Tifa placed this golden materia ball into Yuffie's palm, and then, she enveloped Yuffie's fingers around the ball. "Just, take this. It's a reward, an apology, or whatever," stated Tifa. With the hand still resting on Yuffie's shoulder, Tifa gently pushed the smaller female forward and out of this alleyway. "Just return the money and that materia you found, okay? I'll meet you back at the bar and we can have a drink together. Having fun does make it criminal in the end, huh?"
"U-um, okay!" Yuffie swallowed her own spit nervously, and then she averted her gaze to the peak of the alleyway. "See you at the bar, then."
"That's right. Next time we play a game, I'll make it more clear next time so you don't get confused."
"That'd be nice, Tifa," answered Yuffie, she pressed a palm onto her chest while she slowly walked out of the alleyway. "Wow, my heart's beating real fast...I feel kinda shocked...um, wow..."
Watching the sight of the poor young woman, Tifa intoned a simple 'hmm' while she tilted her head to one side. Her black eyebrows furrowed upwards, and she seemed pretty worried for the other. If anything, Tifa was promising to make that drink for Yuffie.
